Blogging Has Its Privileges

Chief among those privileges, posting random pictures of your child just because you can.

Alex watched The Lion King for the first time last night, and I initially got out the camera to take pictures of how engrossed he was, but then he turned into a ham (where DID he get such a tendency?), and here you have it.

And somebody is turning three tomorrow….

Alex, did you like The Lion King? What was your favorite part? You are getting to be a big boy now since you’re almost 3! I bet you will get to see a lot of new movies now. Tell me which movies you like because I have seen them all!
    I love you!
    Happy Birthday tomorrow!

  2. Now I’ll stop short of answering like I’m Alex, almost three and typing a reply, but I will tell you one thing in particular that he loves right now:

Snow White – specifically, the “scary” part where Snow White is running through the forest, and he re-enacts it by running round and round the coffee table, then falling down. And the seven dwarves, apparently, are hilarity personified for a toddler. Funny.

  3. Interesting…Snow White was my favorite (although I was 4 or 5 when I saw it at the movie theatre), too.
Of course, many more Disney favorites followed. I’ll never forget the feeling I got watching them on the big screen!

  4. I didn’t know it was your favorite. It is also NK’s little girl’s favorite. Something for everyone, I reckon. Alex actually seems to prefer the “old fashioned” animated ones to the Pixar stuff.

Good for him. There’s nothing like Snow White, Cinderella (my personal favorite), Sleeping Beauty, Bambi, Peter Pan, Lady & The Tramp, 101 Dalmatians or Dumbo. I’m sure I’m leaving out some but I’m in agreement that the old ones are better than the new ones. Although when he gets older he will enjoy Toy Story, Toy Story 2, Finding Nemo, The Little Mermaid and A Bug’s Life. I guess they are the “new” classics. You’ll appreciate the humor in some of those, too.

  6. He does love Nemo – but the DVD is scratched so he hasn’t seen it lately. Up until about six months ago he would sing “Just keep swimming, swimming swimming” like Dory does. I think Finding Nemo is SO cute.
