Another Oreck, Anyone?

This is one of those giveaways where I feel like anything I might want to say is completely inconsequential. Because really, anyone who’s reading this post just wants me to SHUT IT, ALREADY and stop talking about the fact that even though I don’t personally own an Oreck, I do have a mother and a sister who are very! enthusiastic! about the entire Oreck product family, not to mention that they would both tell you in a heartbeat that their Oreck vacuums are convenient, powerful, and light-as-a-feather.

But y’all don’t really want to hear that. Y’all just want me to cut to the chase and tell you about the free stuff.

Specifically, you want me to tell you about how you can win a free Oreck vacuum that retails for $599.95.

So.

Here goes.

First. Look! It’s adorable!

Oreck

SASSY!

Second. If you’d like to win this very special vacuum that’s raising awareness for a very special cause (Clean for the Cure), here’s what you have to do:

1. Click here to visit Oreck’s site and look at all the fancy features on the Special Edition XL Gold. This is going to have to be done on the honor system, because it’s going to be next-to-impossible for me to check every single one of my outgoing clicks. However, I do know that the clicks out to this link should (roughly) match the number of comments on this post. So please do me a favor and click on the link and look around once you’re there so that I don’t have to put anyone in time out, oh thank you.

2. Come back here.

3. Leave a comment on this post (only one comment per email address, please) and briefly tell me why you’d LURVE to win an Oreck.

One catch: you have to be a resident of the continental United States in order to win (I know, Canada. I KNOW. I feel your pain. Because guess what? I can’t win, either).

This giveaway will be open until Monday, October 13th, and I’ll announce the winner on Tuesday, October 14th. If you win, I will contact you at the email address associated with your comment, so please be sure to type your email address correctly. You’ll have 24 hours to respond, and if I don’t hear from you within that time period, I’ll draw for another winner.

Have fun, y’all!

  1. I’d love to win an Oreck because …

    1. It is pink.

    2. I need a new vacuum.

    3. It is pink.

  2. It’s like the Shekinah Glory is shining upon me. I have wanted an Oreck for so long. So much so, that my sweet, little neighbor a hundred yards down lets me borrow hers, which is a mere 8 pounds…less than my lower arm. I borrow it weekly, for which I am so very thankful, since my old vacuum is on it’s last leg and often decides to just stop sucking. Which is funny because it really does suck. No, really, it’s awful.

I was just telling the hubs the other day that I would sacrifice what I needed to in order to get me one of them there Orecks.

And lo and behold, here it is.

    Pick me, pick me. Please?

  3. It’s pink…

  4. Anything that would help with my children’s allergies would be wonderful!

  5. Oh, what a blessing a new vacuum would be. Hypo-allergenic? It seems Oreck speaks my love language! I bet it would even make me WANT to vacuum! Well, maybe that’s puching it…but maybe not… ; )

  6. With a rambunctious 3 year old and a husband who tracks everything into the house I NEED this Oreck! Plus it’s pink which totally rocks!

  7. I have 3 floors that need vacuumed, and I love how light-weighted these are; that, plus a cat that likes to shed; and my other one is about to die.

  8. Catherine says:

I LOVE the fact that it is powerful AND light weight! I want to win so, so bad!

  9. There’s everything to lurve about this Oreck…bagless filter, 9 lbs, allergen deflector…ok, I’m laying it all out here..I am a 12 year BC survivor, I have 4 boys and 3 crawling grands and 2 furbabies, I have fibro and 9 lbs would be like a feather compared to what I use now…I want a new vac and one with a PINK RIBBON on it…and I will never be able to buy an Oreck! Feeling me yet?
    Thanks for the chance!

  10. Wow, What a great giveaway! I love that it is pink and black and that it is 9 lbs. That would be great to take up and down my stairs.

It says that you will dust less! How great is that! I hate dusting..it makes me sneeze!

It can also go under my furniture! Not sure how long its been since I moved the furniture and vacuumed so this would be great!

    Thanks BooMama

  11. I would LOVE to win this sassy vaccum because it is already on my Christmas list and that would open a slot for another wish!!:)

Besides, my current vaccum I have had for 10+ years and it was previously my great aunt’s. Needless to say, it is HEAVY. And I am pregnant with #3 so something like this would be awesome!!

  12. We have two cats, a dog, allergies, and asthma issues, so I would love a vac that traps 99.9% of dust and allergens.

And, based on my husband’s reaction to my pink hammer, I would so love to see him using a pink vacuum. But if this doesn’t work out, maybe I’ll have some fun and take a can of pink spray paint to our current vacuum.

  13. The dog just came home with fleas (I know, yuck!) and I need a powerful vacuum to suck away all the grossness. Not to mention that my vacuum is ten years old and falls apart on a regular basis. I also love that this vacuum is lightweight.

  14. I would LOVE to win because my vacuum is breaking, and this one is way better than I could ever afford, and I love how light and easy to use they are!!

  15. Because I’m tired of carrying the vacuum upstairs for the kids to use and it would be fan-tastic to have one for each floor. I’m lazy like that.

  16. Oh, how I’d love to have this Oreck vacuum to go with my pink carpet in the living room! It will be perfect to get up my puppy’s hair..she’s a pomeranian named Baby! :)

    Melissa in FL
    nnisigning@gmail.com

  17. Daphne P says:

I’d love some pink on my vacuum…it would definitely make vacuuming more of a fun activity rather than a chore!!

  18. Okay why would I lurve the new vacuum? I’m a mom. I have a boy. He is messy. And I have a dog. Equally as messy. And man it just would be nice to not have to spend the money on the vacuum. I have been looking for a new one for a while but have been afraid to make the committment to getting a new one. But man. I like that handle. I can hold a baby and vacuum at the same time with that handle. And anything that says it makes carpets last longer is good for me.

  19. I would love to win this because my husband’s job has us relocating from OH to TN at the end of the year. We house-hunted in Nashville this weekend, and found out this morning that our offer on a beautiful new home was accepted! So, I could sure use a great vacuum to keep my new home-sweet-home clean!

  20. So sassy!

My asthma is triggered by allergies to dust and mold, and unbeknownst to me before we moved in to our rental (circa 1970) both abound in evil little pockets.

My husband also has a plethora of allergies, but at least the boy’s lungs don’t shut off.

It’s simple. Asthma medicine – $120/month. Oreck to help – Free.

And to see my hubs pushing a pink vacuum cleaner – priceless.

  21. Pick up tons of dog hair AND help fight breast cancer? Why would I NOT love to have an Oreck….

  22. It would be so much more fun vaccuming with a PINK vaccum than a regular ordinary looking one!!

  23. Because it is so pretty it would make vacuuming more often less of a chore. =) and I would LOVE to finally have a vacuum that wouldn’t kill my back to carry up and down stairs!

  24. What a great give-away! Having a child with many allergies, this vacuum could help make the difference between constant congestion and clear airways. Count me in!

  25. I’d love to win an Oreck because my current vacuum smells perpetually like dirty dogs. And because I am an OCD wife married to a man who is utterly opposed to cleanliness. And because we are young newlyweds who are pinching pennies!

  26. Love it! My favorite part is the self adjusting between carpet and bare floor!

  27. I would lurve to have that vaccum first and formost because it’s pink. I own a pink hair dryer, and have been NEEDING a pink vaccum. Did I mention I live with four boys (1 handsome husband 3 lovely little darlings). Anything pink I can get my hands on. Second my vaccum my parents gave me when I got married broke. Being a stay at home Mom I had to buy the cheapest one I could find. I can’t even get through the whole upstairs before I have to empty it. It loses suction. It’s only job. Seriously? Oh, I would just love that vaccum!

  28. I would love to win an Oreck because my current vacuum weighs 600 pounds (give or take) and I am tired of dragging it up and down the stairs.

  29. Mommy Bee says:

Love the Saniseal system! So smart! No more dust flying everywhere when you change the dirty bag. Yay!

  30. So after the past few days I’ve had, this is probably the wrong time to enter…but I’ll give it a try and hope my luck changes!

I think I would really enjoy the self adjusting feature. I didn’t know that until I went over to the site and read the description, but that would very convenient to, you know, not have to actually bend over and flip the little switch everytime I go from carpet to wood.

  31. (crossed fingers)

  32. I would love an Oreck! I currently use my mom’s hand-me-down 10-year old vacuum–suffice it to say, it does not work well! Plus, October 14 is my birthday so come one, I HAVE to win! :)

  33. Gina Green says:

I have an in house vac system which I love however, I am too lazy to drag the 50 foot hose and vacuum handle either up stairs or down. I would love to have a vacuum cleaner to keep in the lower level to put in the hands of my daughter and her friends after one of their sleep overs. If the Oreck is as fantastic as they claim it is, I’m sure it will have no problems tackling popcorn, candy wrappers, potato chip, and an occasional bobby pin or elastic hair tie. If their claim that “Changing bags is effortless, odorless and clean.”, then I’m all over that too!
    Gina

  34. I would love to win beacause I have 2 cats and 2 dogs, which means I have to vacuum every day! And I love pink!

  35. Catherine says:

I have alwaaaayyyysss wanted an oreck. My sis-in-law just raves about hers.

  36. 122nd comment, pretty good!! My husband and i looked at an Oreck and wanted one but ended up getting another one. Looking back we should have gooten it because the one we bought ended up breaking and we had to buy another one. At the end of it all we could have gotten the Oreck^&*&*:)

I would love to win, i love pink!!

    Leigh-nc

  37. Amy Martin says:

I would love to win the Oreck because, according to the website, I would have to dust less. Enough said.

  38. Oooh OOoh oOoOh!! I would lurve to have this vacuum because Shirley Q. Liquor would be so proud of me and I know she would Lurve for me to have it and she would pick it up for me in her Mali-brew, which she just lurves! ANd I Neeeeedddddd the thingy where it adjusts from carpets to bare floors :)
    We lurve you BooMama!

  39. I have wanted an Oreck for such a long time. I would love to go to my tile floors after I’m done with my carpet. Another plus is since it’s so light weight my children would have no reason to not help vacuum!!!!! Pick me, please!!!!

  40. Looks amazing! Count me in. PINK IS MY FAVORITE COLOR! I would be ecstatic to own a pink vacuum!

  41. I love how lightweight and manuverable Orecks are and as someone who often moves from carpet to hardwood flooring I love that the vacuum self adjusts. The only way I’ll get one is if I win it, so I’m giving it a shot!

  42. They had me at hypo-allergenic! I’d love to have one of those bagless vacs & I’ve heard great things about Oreck. Yeah oh yeah, I would….maybe it will be my lucky day this time.

  43. We have a dog that sheds like there’s no tomorrow, and I’ve heard great things about Oreck.

  44. I am in love with my Roomba, but as I am unable to run it, people have been coming over and using my old upright. It smells. It smells bad. And it doesn’t pick anything up. consequently, my floors haven’t been clean in over 9 weeks. However, if I won this, I’d give it to… Oh, the possibilities are endless. My step-mom, for keeping my kids while I’ve been on bed rest. Maybe she’ll speak to me afterward…

  45. I’d love to win an Oreck because I first got one when we got married (14 years ago) and I have loved it Oh So Much. I think that the newer model is lighter and more allergy-friendly. Plus, it is much cuter. And that is very important in vacuuming.

  46. I so need this vaccuum. The high-ceiling attachments sound so exciting. Not to mention my vaccuum won’t even pick up a string. She’s on her last leg! Pick me!

  47. I’ve always wanted one of those fancy Orecks…and this one is even black and PINK? But, I really would like to win it because I just read of its hypo-allergenic filtration. I just got an email from a friend looking for help for a coworker with a baby that has just been released from the ICU for her severe asthma and they were advised they needed to buy a $400 vacuum that they could not afford. This would be perfect.

  48. Who WOULDN’T love a $600 vacuum?? I have 3 small children, and there’s always a mess.

  49. Enter me, please! My vacuum has a terrible smell and virtually no suction… And with 5 kids and a puppy… Well, you get the picture! :)

  50. I have to have a pink vacuum! I might actually use it then!

  51. I would love this Oreck because nothing would entice me to vacuum my house like something new with which to vacuum. Also, it is pink. Also, my current vacuum cleaner is a dust buster. (:

  52. Reasons I would love to win:

    1. I have 2 cats that love to leave their fluffy hair all over the place!

    2. I hate to vacuum & maybe a new Oreck would bring me some vacuum joy!

    3. I have entered countless blog giveaways and never ever won! ::tear::

  53. Need.New.Vaccuum. So an Oreck would be quite nice!

  54. My vacuum is horrible. It smells like the cord is burning up every time I use it. This vacuum would be my dream vacuum!!!! I love that it supports cancer research too!! Oh I hope I win this vacuum.

    Candy

  55. I would love the Oreck to give to my wife. Our vacuum was seriously sucking (in the bad way, not in the way a vacuum should). So we went and saw a bunch of Oreck’s and she got pretty pumped about getting one. But then I convinced her to see if we could get by for a bit longer without spending the cash on a new ‘cuum. While a change of a filter has helped a bit, we’re in dire need of an upgrade – and i’d love to surprise her with it.

  56. I would love an Oreck because my current vacuum sucks. Well, actually it DOESN’T suck. ACTUALLY, it DOES suck stuff up, but only as far as the hose (and recently not even that far … the tube that the hose is connected to, lately). You know, rather than the canister, where it belongs. So lucky me gets to detach the hose and PULL THE DIRT OUT (I use … get this … a fondue poker to get at the stuff, lol!). So yeah, I could really use a cute, FUNCTIONING vacuum right about now! =)

  57. I want it. I want it. I WANT IT!!!

Because – the lame brain who built this house put white carpet in three bedrooms and navy blue in the fourth. Both colors that capture and show every little thing. They also put in an in-wall vacuum system. Which doesn’t suck worth a hoot. Which stinks!

Also because I do not like carrying the one vacuum, that DOES suck, up and down the stairs and then holding it at an angle so as not to wear a hole in the rug with the overzealous brush bar (which HAS happened, thank you very much!!)

AND, also, because, if you go to my blog you can tell, I am all about the cause. Cancer needs to GO AWAY!!!

    So, please pick me!

  58. I would LOVE to win this no doubt! I have two black labs and a 4 year old and I have to vaccum a lot. I like this feature “The built-in filtration system traps 99.9% of all dust and allergens down to 0.3 microns. The dust on the floor doesn’t blow back into the air and end up on your furniture. So you could dust less often.” This would really help me!!

  59. 4 kids and it seems they all somehow emit dust. And the handle looks so ergonomic indeed! We’ve got 6 people and 6 people’s stuff living in a SMALL house, so I’d love me a little Oreck to clean all those tight spaces!!

  60. I would love to win this Oreck because it’s PINK! My favorite color. Not to mention I need a new vacuum. Mine is a “hand me down” and it’s time for a new one.

  61. I could really use a vaccum. I don’t have one and always have to borrow one from my Mom!

  62. we’re dirty.

  63. I WANT THIS SUCKER!!! No pun intended!

My old Kenmore (got it for Valentine’s from hubby several years ago) Yes….he’s all mine girls! Mr. Loverboy!

It’s bit the dust and we’ve replaced parts several times only to hear it SCREAM every time I try to vacuum.

    Can you say frustrating?

    Flippin sweet, it’s pink!

  64. While I was sitting here thinking of all the reasons I “need” that new vacuum, I noticed not one of my issues wasn’t already posted – except for maybe that I HATE cleaning and this will help inspire me (in all it’s pinkness) – especially with a house to sell fast in a terrible market so our family can be transfered for my husband’s new job together! I’m sure a cool, pink vacuum would be totally inspirational, right!? :)

  65. Kim Andress says:

oh my heart. I have wanted an Oreck for as long as I have known about them. My MIL hearts hers. With a busy household and 5 kids dropping stuff all the live long day, I would so use this baby.

    thanks!

  66. I’d LURVE an ORECK because the “direct suction” has GOT to be better than the not-so-direct suction involved with my current vacuum.

  67. I’d LURRRVE to win this vacuum so i could give it to my 26 year old single son, who lives in an apartment and does NOT OWN A VACUUM AND DOESN’T UNDERSTAND WHY THAT MAKES ME TYPE IN ALL CAPS! Of course, he would get my old one and I’d get this lovely thing, because what 26 year old who doesn’t see the importance of a vacuum needs this? But his mamma does!

  68. I would love to win this vacuum! Like most other moms I’m constantly sweeping and vacuuming my home. With a 5-year-old boy, 2-year-old girl and 11 month-old-girl, I’m always finding some mess somewhere! I’d love to have a more efficient vacuum! :)

  69. I would love a new Oreck because we live on a farm and the boys bring in so much sand, gravel and grass. I could use something powerful to get all that dirt. Thanks for the giveaway. Do you think the boys would like the pink? :-)

  70. That vacuum is too cute for words and it sounds like it would work like a dream. I would love to win it!

  71. You had me from hypo-allergenic! Then I find out it is lightweight and I think it would be fabulous, fabulous, fabulous because it won’t wear me out when I use it AND it will be light enough for the middle child to use it. She does love to vacuum, you know. I’m not kidding. She’s nine and she loves to vacuum and cook (with supervision, of course). She’s like a tiny little Martha Stuart, except she’s not too good at croquet. Emily and I would LOVE to win a new vacuum, BooMama, but to win a pink Clean for the Cure Oreck during breast cancer awareness month, well, that would just be over the top.

Thanks for the giveaway BooMama and Oreck! What fun!

  72. Best feature? It works (presumably). My current one is iffy in that department! And I have an 18 mo. old son. A working vacuum is a necessity around here! Thanks!

  73. With allergies in our house this would be a great thing to have! Thanks for the great giveway!
    mnatherson at comcast dot net

  74. I so need this. Anything that would cut down on the dust in this house is great!

  75. Yet another INCREDIBLE giveaway – thanks to you, BooMama!!

I was given a generous gift of a vacuum from my wonderful m-i-l, but it is one of those BAGLESS ones, and I cannot tell you how gross it is to empty and see all the dust fly around again.

My dust allergies would also like to register, but they don’t have their own email account, so they’ll just have to cheer me on : )

  76. Well I would love to win, cause your mom and sister have to be right in their love for the oreck and from the site i like this:
    Furniture-friendly Design
Its low profile, soft top-and-sides make it easy to clean around and under furniture without scratching it. Side brushes make cleaning baseboards and edges easier too.

  77. I NEED this Orick because my old vacuum is screaming “uncle” everytime I crank her up. She’s old…and tired. Would this one by the way crank up and vacuum my floors with the snap of my finger all by her sweet little self? I mean, without me behind it actually doing real housework??? Because I’m old and tired too.

  78. I have five children three of whom are under the age of three, a dog, and three cats. We might not need a dining room table, but we sure as heck need a vacuum. And my little ole 45.99 vacuum from Wal-mart is mighty picky about what it will pick up!

  79. Well, pink is not my favorite color, however, I do have to admit the sassyness is a draw.

My poor Hoover… it’s just not making it right now.

    :)

  80. *peeking in from lurkdom*

Are ya kidding me?! ORECKS ROCK!!!! I would love to win an Oreck!!!!

  81. I am craving a lightweight vacuum that still gets the job done. During the brief stint I had help with my housework (Merry Maids), they used the Oreck, and I *loved* my floors… they always felt a lot different than they did after I vacuumed with my Dyson.

  82. I have two cats, a dog and a very messy husband. I would love to not have to replace our carpets any time too soon (and the vacuum website says that it extends the life of the vacuum)… Frankly, I don’t deserve a new vacuum any more than any one else does but I promise I would love it if I won (especially if it helped to make my husband a little less messy!).

  83. I would Lurve to have this Oreck because it supports the Susan G Kolmen Foundation. I also have never owned a new vacume cleaner. Ours came from my mother-in-law it is a big old heavy Kirby and its starting to need to be retired.

  84. I would love this because my vacuum is ancient. Something my hubs had way before we were married, and it weighs a ton. So this lightweight sassy beauty would be perfect. Thanks, BooMama!

  85. I just “buried” my 19-year old Rainbow vacuum and would love to win this! I love the fact that it is lightweight and traps dirt right away.

Thank you, BooMama, for doing this!

  86. I would love to win this because I haven’t had a new vacuum in over twelve years!

  87. ColleenM says:

I would love me an oreck – just the hypo-allergenic filtration feature is enough. With my allergies, I am sure this would out a lot.

  88. I would love to have another Oreck! I mistakenly sold mine so I could get a new fangled Dyson. It’s ok, but it’s no Oreck.
Thanks for such a great giveaway!

  89. It’s pink and it will work wonders on my floors! Pick me, pick me!

  90. Two toddlers. Crumbs everywhere. Thanks for the fun giveaway!

  91. I want one of these because I adore expensive pink things that I can’t afford that suck up.

  92. I would just love a new vacuum that I didn’t have to pay for!!!!! Thanks!!!

  93. It doesn’t scatter dust like other vacuums, so I wouldn’t have to dust as often?!! I LOVE it!

  94. I love the idea that it automatically adjusts from carpet to bare floors (see, i read the site!). Having mostly wood floors w/ rugs, it’s been hard to find a decent vacuum to work on the hard floors. Since our house is older and less weather sealed, helping to collect dust with a decent machine will be lovely. Of course, I love that they support the fight against breast cancer – a great cause.

  95. 4 kids 9 and under and a husband. This would do wonders in my home!

  96. If I won the Oreck, why, I think it might just save my marriage. I kid you not. :) I’m married to the world’s cleanest fella.

Seriously..we are in desperate need of a new vacuum. My little one suffers from allergies and asthma somethin’ fierce and our trust HEPA vacuum had “given up the ghost” so to speak. It looks like the Oreck traps 99.-something percent of all dust and allergens (see, I read).

    mom2hope@msn.com

    It’s also super-cute. :)

  97. I have a hand-me-down Oreck and even though I love it…. I would sure love a brand-spanking new model!!!

  98. The vacuum cleaner that we currently use is one my husband bought in his bachelor days and I kid you not when I tell you that it weighs close to FORTY POUNDS. I would rather kill a giant spider with my bare hands than vacuum with that thing. So clearly, my reasons for loving the NINE POUND Oreck are too numerous to count!

  99. Hornetmom97 says:

I would LOOOVEEE a vacum cleaner that I didn’t have to lug up each stair to vacum…and it’s pink!!

  100. Count me in- I really need a new vacuum!
