The Big Boo Cast, Episode 28

Well, I’ll just be honest. Melanie and I could have used a power nap before we recorded this one. Oh, we still muster some significant enthusiasm for all manner of minutiae, but we were a little bit on the tired side. Melanie had a big weekend cheering for her Aggies, and I got way too invested in Sunday night’s Miss America pageant and stayed up far too late on the Twitter. Even still, we cover some of our favorite podcast topics: college football, TV (specifically, why I did not enjoy Breaking Bad), Miss America, eyelashes, skin issues (both real and imagined), more football, etc.

(It just dawned on me that I forgot to tell Melanie that I bought chicken at the grocery store today.)

(And when I picked up the chicken, I thought, “Well, I can always serve it with pinto beans and then squeeze a little lime on it.)

(That was one of my most favorite podcast lines ever.)

  1. I didn’t know there was a podcast!! Thankfully, I’ve listened to your first episode ever as well as your most recent, and now I am wondering if you and Melanie still harbor the same feelings about skinny jeans as you did in 2007? Or was it 2008?

  2. I had to laugh at your convo about Breaking Bad. Your feelings on it…..are my exact feelings (times 1000) about Mad Men!!! But I am SO with you on Scandal. Can’t come back soon enough!!! :)

  3. You two are too funny!

  4. I love listening to you guys! It is like sitting around the kitchen table, drinking coffee, and chatting with both of you….oh yes…and I love the DCC.

  5. Y’all make me so happy! Love you both!!

  6. Before this summer I hadn’t ever had the chance to listen to one of your podcasts because I have 3 boys who would MUCH rather listen to music than “talking people” when we’re in the car. Unfortunately, I found myself in the car by myself quite a bit this summer because both of my grandparents were very ill. Y’all put out a new podcast every week that one of them was in the hospital and kept me company as I drove back and forth to sit with them while they were home on hospice, be there at the end (they died within 18 days of each other) or help clean out their house. I just wanted to thank you for giving me something to laugh about in the car and to take my mind off of things for a while-you tickled me to death!

  7. my one comment about the pageant: in the question segment, please please use just one question for all of them. much more fair to judge the same question than these crazy different questions. put them all into the glass room of silence when each has a turn to answer. such bad questions this time.

  8. I am totally with you on Breaking Bad. We watched the first two episodes and I decided it was way too violent and icky for me.

  9. First podcast I’ve listened to and yes, I’m hooked. You guys are my family so please bring deviled eggs for Sunday dinner and don’t be late for Goodness sakes.
