Really, He Only Wanted To See The Game

Disclaimer: I have wonderful friends and family who are Rebel fans. But to see a story like this one in the newspaper and not mention it would cause me to develop some form of nervous tic. I’d twitch my way right out of my chair and down to the street, and I’d keep twitching and tic-ing until I finally had to say something in order to stop all the trembling.

So really, I mention these developments for health reasons as much as anything.

I’m just sayin’.

Plus, I have to gloat while I can…it’s just a matter of time before someone from my alma mater wields a gun in a public setting or decides that, if the cash runs out, counterfeiting hundred dollar bills is an acceptable solution.

We’ve all got our baggage, I reckon.

    Just let’em mess up……..

  2. I’m sure Tommy will be heartbroken by this story, as you are, Soph. It reminds me of another violation that took place at Ole Miss, only this one involved sororities, not football. I was in Wal-mart with some other Tri-Delt when I saw someone from Meridian going through Rush and introduced her to my friend! Apparently someone overheard the conversation (I didn’t know I wasn’t supposed to do that — I mean really the whole process is so QUEER!) and reported it and we were all reprimanded in bid session. Oh, the good ol’ days….

  3. You REBEL. Hee hee – get it? Liz, I know how deeply you identify with Ole Miss sports – I know how much you treasure and value all the traditions of your alma mater. My prayers will be with you during what no doubt is a very difficult time. Hang in there, Liz. Hang in there.

  4. Hmmmm…aside from her err in judgement for her undergrad education (and sorority – ;) – sorry, thus far you’re outnumbered 3-1 on both counts :) ), don’t I remember Liz going to grad school at our Beloved Alma Mater?
Oh, and sic ’em dawgs…that’s for you, Lea Margaret. :)

    Amen, Sister!

  6. My above comment to Liz was VERY sarcastic because she follows Rebel sports, oh, NOT AT ALL. While she does indeed have deep Rebel roots (her mama was Miss Ole Miss, if you recall), she married a died-in-the-wool Bulldog and has embraced all our Bulldog friends. In fact, I’ve started to think that Liz and Daph may have been separated at birth, so like-minded are they. Let me put it this way: bring up most prevalent social issues, and you (Sister), Liz and Daph would be three peas in a pod. ;-)

  7. Yes, um, despite my blonde-ness, believe it or not, I DID pick up on the sarcasim…thus my comment about Liz. :)

Having a bad day, are we Boomama?

And, I’ve ALWAYS thought Daph and Liz were 2 of the most forward thinking, intelligent people I know. ;)

  8. It HAS been a day. I’ll call you later on – but WHEW.
