Birthdaypalooza! Pictures

Balloons make everything better, it would seem. At least for Alex. Not for me, as I am still traumatized by An Unfortunate Balloon Incident with a clown at a rodeo when I was 4.

Alex and his cousin, Melissa – I don’t think they could adore each other any more than they do. Alex loves Melissa because she includes him in everything. Melissa loves Alex because when she includes him in everything, he does whatever she asks him to do. It works out beautifully for all.

Chips = GOOOOOOD. Hey Lea Margaret – does the shirt look familiar? Thanks again for it – I think it is so cute.

Nighty-night after lots of birthday fun. And a piano recital, of course.

My word he is cute. Way cute.

Thank you for coming back to us!!! I have really missed you. Tell us about the gifts, cake, etc. You don’t have to talk about the balloons – I understand the trauma.

  2. Merritt – I’m working on a post…much to tell. I’ve got to get the dog bed covers out of the dryer and on the dog beds asap, though, because D. has gone to get them from the vet. And Alex is still asleep – shhhhhh – so I’m going to try to jump in the shower before he wakes up. More soon!

  3. Lea Margaret says:

OH I just LOVE IT! Alex looks so cute! I thought about yall all weekend. I am reading about it all now. Yes, this dial up thing is just a not fun. Big Mac is on the same techno way length as your mama and daddy. Bless their bones.

  4. I am really seriously thinking about getting Sister and Brother to go in on getting Daddy some kind of DSL or something for his birthday. I don’t care if all you do is check email…dial-up is ridiculously slow. NOT TO MENTION how much Daddy would enjoy wireless if he had it…but it’s hard to convince a child of the Depression that anything other than food and water is an essential. :-)

Change just sends mine over the edge.

  6. What a cute birthday boy!

I can’t stop giggling at you though. Balloon, clown, incident, rodeo…..all in ONE sentence!!!!
I knew about the clown thing, just didn’t realize balloons were involved!

Is that pose in the “Nighty night” photo genetic? I have several photos of Boomama with the EXACT expression and stance.

  7. Re: Daddy and the DSL or cable modem…we had the same thought. Barro even gave him the wireless sales pitch…all to deaf ears, I’m afraid. I personally believe he would DIG a laptop and wireless internet. I’m in for the $ if y’all are!

  8. Bubba – now that you mention it, I think the pose must be genetic. It is a personal favorite of mine. :-) And Sister, how do we convince him to get the laptop? Do we just arrange for the wireless and then force him into buying a laptop because that would be the only way to utilize a wireless connection? He might balk at that. But I’m with you – I think he would LOVE having a laptop upstairs, provided the connection can make it through those 14 layers of insulation that they have.

  9. OH MY GOSH I think Bubba is right about the nighty night pose! I am giggling right now just thinking about it! Thank you so much for pointing that out, Bubba! I will do some digging into old photo books and we will share when we get together for our movie reunion – we are doing that one day…I promise.

  10. At this point, I’m almost willing to spring for the laptop myself. :)

  11. Now I don’t know that I can help spring for a laptop, what with having to put Boo through college (and K-12, for that matter) and all, but there’s got to be a way we can get Daddy off of dial-up. I think Mama would be forever grateful. We can discuss.
