A few pictures from this week’s Adventures of Alex…
Best part about a trip to the zoo? The carousel. But NOT when the carousel stops. Carousel stopping is obviously the work of the devil.
And here’s the thing with chickens. To fully understand them, you really have to get down on their level.
All the classes at A.’s Mothers’ Day Out made these hats. He’s very proud that he painted the dots, by the way. He would tell you ALL about the dots if you asked him. Very proud.
I’m proud that we convinced him to keep the hat on his head for more than four seconds because, well, with a hat this big, you’ve gotta get a picture.
He gets bigger every day, it seems.
Sigh.
Thanks for the Thursday 13 thing – I didnt get it completely but household obligations loom – so maybe next week!
That photo of that hat – hes going to hate you for that someday, but if he marries the right girl, she’ll love it!
Stopping a carousel is just not biblical.
He’s adorable!
The other day Lori commented and wanted to know what BooMama looks like. Well, take the picture of Alex in the hat…remove the hat (I’ve never seen BooMama in a hat or cap of ANY kind, although in college I did see a bow or two), add shoulder-lengthish (depends on the current cut) natural blond hair, add a smile and an adorable outfit, and you’ve got BooMama. As we like to say in the South, she “spit that child right out” (IOW, he looks JUST like her right down to the killer baby blue eyes).
He’s too cute! I love pics of the girls like that. Of course, I can rarely get either one to stop long enough to take one. =)
So cute!! And can I say wow, jeepers creepers where’d you get those peepers???
Well, sounds like mama! Good job!
Amen!!! Alex is the “Spitten” image of his beautiful Mama!! Daph got it exactly right!!!Adorable Hat!!!!!
He is such a C-U-T-I-E! And thankfully, he’s still young enough that he won’t mind me calling him that! :)
Love the hat! And yes that is definitely one to proudly show the future dates!
Boomama, I did get your blogspot wrong, but still believe you’re quite a writer. Will watch for more. Judith
Y’all, I’ll tell you what – given the last couple of days and how crazy they’ve been (can you say “STRESSSSSSED”?), reading all these sweet comments makes me teary-eyed. Seriously. Such sweet encouragement – and much, much appreciated.
EK and Daph, Yes, he does look like his Mama but I have ALWAYS said the looks just like SISTER.
BM, Love the shirt that he is wearing at the zoo.
All together now: Awwwwww…….He’s so sweeeet!! And I love the carousel thing. If one of those chickens got after him, he’d think chicken nuggets were the work of the devil, too. :-)
Daph has really made me giggle. The description is right on the money, but a “bow or two”???? In the early college years I recall LOTS of them….and BIG ones!!!
There aren’t eyes like Boomama’s anywhere!
I wish I could find one of those old bows, but I think I wore all of them out. If memory serves, Emma Kate had quite the bow collection herself…she kept them all on a ribbon that she hung from the bookshelves in our room. And Daphne, didn’t we try putting a bow in your hair one time? I seem to recall getting VERY tickled and perhaps even gasping for air at one point. I need to find some of those old pictures and scan them. I need one of Bubba when he wore BIG glasses, one of Daph in her pseudo-alternative phase – oh, this may be a summer project. :-)
1) I DO remember EK’s bow ribbon vividly.
2) I actually came across a couple of pictures not too long ago featuring Bubba with his adorable BIG glasses. Do you remember some function we had at JC Garcias where there was actually a ZAP man there taking pictures? The JC Garcias photos star Bubba (and his glasses), Jenn & Melanie prominently. I’ll have to see if I can’t dig them up.
3) I CLEARLY remember an experiment where you attempted to “bow” my hair. It was HIL-arious, and I dare say, I never looked lovlier, nor felt girlier.
I don’t know, Daph – you were pretty girly last week talking about that BeautiControl makeup that you love. ;-) I do remember the JC Garcia’s party – wasn’t it an Owl Court deal? Is that right? I remember that I had on some beige sweater, and I believe it was immediately after the Unfortunate Perm Incident of our sophomore year. I think.
And for what it’s worth, that perm finally left my hair around 1998.
Oh, BooMama, I am LAUGHING OUT LOUD over the Unfortunate Perm Incident!! And the fact that it just grew off your hair in 1998 just tickled me so, LOL. :) I love it!
Sweet – sweet. Nothing like a little boy for a mother’s heart. Husbands are great but you have to try to understand them, get along with them, keep them happy. Little boys – you get to just love them, and put them in funny outfits when they’re too little to know better.
Stop the search and scan Boomama. I have been doing a little research of my own. DATE PARTY ’89….should be enough to keep you still.
