So I got home from a little Mama-party tonight (it was WILD, I tell you – we ooh’d and aah’d over cooking utensils and then drank way too much ginger ale with raspberries while we perused catalogs with even more cooking utensils – WILD!) and visited with the family and got Alex tucked into bed and then came downstairs to check Bloglines.
And there were maybe two new posts as opposed to the normal eleventy hundred new posts.
And I thought, well, um, that’s strange.
But then I remembered: Grey’s Anatomy. Season premiere.
Now I don’t watch the show [she says, ducking for cover], but I have a newfound appreciation for it because Cutie McPretty or Dr. McDreamy or whatever his name is can flat shut down blogland for a couple of hours. THAT’S impressive. Really. I believe I have badly underestimated the loyalty and fervor that you people have for this seemingly-addictive television program that I have never seen.
So I hope you enjoyed it.
In other television news, D and I enjoyed “The Office” season premiere tonight. At least I did until I got on the phone with Merritt and quit watching. But then she made me laugh so hard that I wet my pants. And I enjoyed that, too (the laughing. not so much the other).
See y’all tomorrow.

Well, so far I’ve had 17 minutes of pleasure watching the season premier!
Would you believe that I had to miss The Office and Grey’s Anatomy season premieres? I am eternally grateful for the DVR, greatest invention ever.
well, guess it’s just me and you then huh? :)
Think of it like college football without the helmet-head.
we got rid of our cable this spring and I am really missing the office right now. I hope our friends remember to record it for us, or I’ll have to go in hock at Apple music store buying all the episodes.
It was also Survivor night. :-) I always spend Thursday nights in front of the TV, but I’ve never watched Grey’s Anatomy. Maybe I need to see if Blockbuster has it for rent. Hmmmm. Anyways, blogger was also down from 7pm (EST) for a while last night, right when I was getting on to work on a post. HMPH!!
Life without Tivo? Never again. Apparently all of my fav shows are now on Thurs. 3 diff channels–all at the same time. So I watched one, tivoed one downstairs and the other upstairs.
I promise it’s the only night I’m like this though!
Boo, I tried to discuss this with you months ago. I know you have a thing about hospital dramas, but I’m telling you this is different. The writing is so smart and quick (always with a hint of sarcasm); this is one of the few shows in the known universe that was created, is produced and is all-in-all the living, functioning brainchild of a female–Shonda Rhimes. She is my hero, and I know you would love this show.
Tsk… BooMama, you could have called me. I didn’t watch them either. Well, now that I recall that I was with Mr. Right at the time… Well, let’s just say that I wouldn’t have answered the phone anyway.
Never mind.
I am such a nerd because I don’t watch “premiers” anymore. I use to! But for some reason, I just seem to gravitate towards HGTV…but that channel can get it’s share of hosting hunks once in awhile! :)
Oh, and our sis in law asked hubby and I to record The Office for her…we have never seen it, and we recorded it with the TV off. Can you imagine? I wonder what all the hubbub is about?
Well BM, I got sucked in all the hoopla and don’t you know the first hour was a re-cap of the whole second season! And, let me tell you unloading all the key moments in one hour was just mind-boggling. And, let me just say “boy, WAS I missing something”! I was at the edge of my seat watching the the whole thing! Whew! That was intense. I’m SO scheduled to watch next Thursday and the rest of the season for that matter!
So thank you Addie, Robin, Twyla, Donna and the rest of you for putting me straight!! :)
T-lo has come over! Yay! Boo, Daph is right, the writing is Off-The-Hook! (Did I just say that?) Shonda Rhimes even has a blog where she and the other writers talk after the show, and her blog reads just like one of our blogs. It cracks me up!
This is not ER, this is not Chicago Hope, this is not St. Elsewhere. They way they put words together on this show is just awesome!!!
But,you know, whatever. ;-)
I don’t watch Grey’s either…all my girlfriends think I’m looney. I just don’t have time to keep up with another show, even WITH tivo!
I did watch office, was very disappointed in it. I laughed a time or two, but the whole gay thing was silly.
After I posted that, duh…I know the office is supposed to be silly comedy, but this one was just TOO silly :) I didn’t want anyone to think I uh, expected it to be serious. :)
Ok, so what happened on the Office?! I missed it and sadly, I am not a TiVo or DVR owner!! *sob*. Not a Grey’s Anatomy watcher either. I may have to check it out and see what all the fervor is about!!
I’ve watched GA once and really liked it but I can never remember when it is on…
Actually, I spent the evening catching up on my Beth Moore Daniel study. That is intense enough!
Blessings
I can’t believe nobody’s comments mentioned the fact that you wet your pants!
Did you really? Because if you did, we’re friends for life:)
I don’t watch Grey’s Anatomy either – so it’s just you and me kid!
Ginger Ale with raspberries!!!!Give me a BREAK.
Boo Mama,
we don’t watch t.v., don’t even have it hooked up to tempt us…just to a vcr, so that wasn’t why I didn’t leave you a comment yesterday. I was just not online, and busy, and feeling hurt all over from my dance class (and I won’t be posting that at my blog…don’t want to scandalize the relatives and all that) I am wondering about all this Grey’s anatomy and I have sis-in-laws that have been going on and on about ’24’, thinking about breaking down and renting from netflicks-but then again that would involve alot of watching time…
anyways, maybe not everybody was watching-maybe just a slow-kid’s have lots of homework, mom’s exhausted kind of weeknight.

Here’s the weird thing. Am I the only person in the world who thinks Grey’s Anatomy is just one big sex fest? Sure the writing can be witty and catchy and sarcastic and all but when you boil it down it seems like it is just about people getting it on with other people behind somebody else’s back. Which is why I stopped watching Desperate Housewives as well.
I’ll be interested in what you think about the show after you’ve seen it.
I have just got to say for the umpteenth time that you are HIL-AR-EE-US! Honestly. You just crack me up.
And thanks for the video. My favorite all-time song, and you posted the video. Cool. :0)
