Now admittedly I have a bit of a weakness for music that involves someone banging the ever-livin’ fire out of a piano.
(Please see: Ben Folds.)
And I love me some acoustic flava, to boot.
(Please see: John Mayer. Monk & Neagle. James Taylor. Etc.)
Which brings me to my point.
I have the most wonderful, filled-with-piano-banging-and-acoustic-flava CD to tell you about. A CD written and performed by musicians who are SO STINKIN’ TALENTED. A CD I probably wouldn’t have even known about if our friend Todd hadn’t told us about it last week.
But based on Todd’s recommendation, I decided to give it a listen, and oh my mercy I am enjoying it.
And you’re not going to believe who it is.
It’s Hanson. The “Mmmm Bop” boys are all grown up, y’all.
And their new CD – “The Walk” – is FANTASTIC.
Seriously.
Your whole family will heart it so much.
It’s FANTASTIC.
You can check it out here.

I saw they were coming back. I’ll have to give it a listen. Thanks for the suggestion.
Any chance you’re giving one of these lovely cds away? :)
oh sorry i can’t try it. it just brings up bad memories for me. though, ben folds, finally you mention someone i know and like.
I saw Hanson doing some acoustic stuff a few years back and was surprised how much I liked them. I’m listening to the new CD now and it’s great!
BTW, in case you were wondering the song “Georgia” is song about me :o)
Blessings,
Georgia Mom
Are you going to have another giveaway? Sounds wonderful!
I found myself waiting for the punch line. But I guess you’re serious. I might have to check it out.
I sent a link to this post to my best friend. She was obsessed with Hanson when they originally came out. I think she’ll appreciate this. :-)
Thanks for keeping me hip. I not very music savvy. I enjoy your recommendations.
Really?! I’m so excited. I think I may still have a little crush on that middle Hanson… Taylor, I think.
Love me some Ben Folds, too!
Their album is currently #1 in Internet sales, beating out even Prince.
no way….
i don’t believe it.
well, i only believe it because you are saying it.
I saw the title and thought ‘who in the world?’100% accurate — love love love Hanson!!! 1997–pregnant with Reed — LOUD in the car — remember well — Mmbop all the way to work just to start my day out right. Ssssssssssooooooooooo stinkin excited about this new one!! Whew Whew!!!
I’ve heard this was good! I’ll have to check it out.
We like it too. :)
Know what? I’m sleeping with the man who coded their website. (I’m married to him, of course.)
HUH? Did someone say James Taylor?
The Hansons? Oh I will have to hear this! Thanks!
Nuh – uh! I’m shocked. I have a friend that will be THRILLED to hear this little tid-bit out. :D
The Hansons? Oh my word, I didn’t even think that band was in existence anymore.
Mmmm Bop and I have shared many a great times together.
This album definitely has a much more mature, soulful sound to it. I don’t know why, but I’m hearing a blend of Foreiger/Rick Springfield/Jude Cole in the their music. Needless to say, the album is brilliant ever so pleasing to my ears.
I liked them as kids; I have a feeling I’m going to love them as adults.
Thanks for the head up.
(And if you think Ben Folds rocks, then you should see him in a small venue. That man can really tear up the ivory and look at complete ease all the while. He’s brillian to watch!)
WOAH! Who woulda thunk?! They really grew up didn’t they? Never would have recognized them.
This isn’t some Urban Legend, is it?
you should have been in Nashville this past weekend then —- Ben Folds AND John Mayer were in concert TOGETHER!!
I’ve seen recent pics of those cutie Hanson brothers.
Thanks for the heads up!
Blessings,
Karla
All in the spirit of Alex, er, Howard–
I! LOVE! BEN! FOLDS!!!! Seriously one of my faves! :)
Diane told me you found a new cd by Hanson…I liked them before, too.. How cool… The croutons sound good… I have a great obsession with food myself.. hence my great deformity.. sad but oh-so-true.. :( Hi to Sister!! :)
Can’t wait to check it out. . .although I really did/do like MMMMMM Bop.
