I Can’t Blog For Long Because I Want To Write An Ode To Coach Croom

Sister and I have been awake since FOUR FORTY FIVE IN THE AM, so needless to say there’s some sleep on my immediate horizon.

But oh. My goodness. We had the best time ever watching our beloved Bulldogs beat Alabama 17-12.

Also, I got SUNBURNED. While wearing sunscreen. Because it’s NOVEMBER.

I’m telling y’all: my skin is the color of parchment paper.

But look! Gloriousness!

I’ll be back tomorrow or Monday with all manner of mindnumbing details.

It’ll be fun. Really. I promise.

Go ‘Dogs.

  1. I saw the score tonight and thought of how excited you guys must have been. Nice win!

  2. How fun! My NE Huskers have NOT had a good season. ((sigh)) But I’m not a fair weather fan so I’m still claimin’ them!

  3. Wait a minute… you mean there’s something other than the GEORGIA BULLDOGS??????? Why, I just had no idea! All this time I thought you loved our dear Uga… :)

I am JUST KIDDING!!! Please, please don’t ban me from your blog! So glad ya’ll got to see such a great game!

  4. Sadness… what sadness…

  5. I thought of you today when I saw the score on the news. I figured you were grinnin’ from ear to ear! We had a happy day here in Nebraska too! It’s about time our Huskers showed up to play. Whoo-hoo! I think that you ought to say “COME ON NOW, SON!” in a podcast sometime. :D

  6. In my head, I’m hearing that sweet voice of yours screaming “COME ON NOW SON…. COME ON NOW SON….. COME ….. ON …… NOW ……SOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNN!!!!!”

  7. Congrats from an Alabama Alum!

  8. Can’t wait to hear the details. I heard it was wild and crazy. Our tickets are near Anthony’s parents and they said his mom was near bout crazy!!Can you image? Go DAWGS! What about that bowl? Robin Brookshire

  9. Glad you had a good time and your Bulldogs won!

  10. Now, that was pretty cool. I wish I could see ya’ll jumping up and down screaming your pretty little heads off during that play!!

Do you have a voice today??? Good times were had.

  11. not even my team, and I think I got the Holy Ghost all over again watching that clip

  12. Oh, I wish I could have been there. Let me just tell you there was some serious screaming goin’ on in my house as Anthony Johnson made that 100 yard interception return. Bless his sweet soul!!! GO BULLDOGS!

  13. Butterbean says:

I can’t believe your Dogs upset Bama! Way to go! My Dawgs smashed the other team from the great state of Alabama this afternoon!

    Go Dogs! and GO DAWGS!!!

  14. It was a sad day for Auburn fans – We started the day with beautiful weather and a fantastic tailgate…. We left with another loss. I must say the only thing that brought a smile to my face was your Bulldogs taking down Alabama. Congratulations! :)

  15. Wow! What an awesome play!!! No wonder you are so pumped! I would be, too! I saw the score on TV last night and commented to my hubby “Oh, Boomama’s Bulldogs won!”
    He said, “Who?”
“My BFF on the internet”, was my reply. Enough said.

  16. The Dawgs are nominated for Pontiac Game Changing Performance -go vote for them!!

Words cannot describe my excitement. All the teams up here lost except my beloved DAWGS!!

  17. Sounds like a perfect Saturday to me. I too was happy for you when I saw the score. Hope your night and your Sunday was restful.

  18. Croom has done a really great job turning around that MSU program. I can imagine how exciting it must have been to BE there! I hate that Bama lost, but I’m happy for Croom. And you, Boomama. You have no idea how dumb I felt when all I could think about was how happy you were during the game…and I don’t even know you :) I just hope it doesn’t happen next season. Roll tide.

  19. I don’t care who you are, it’s always fun to watch Alabama lose… ;-)
    (War Eagle!)

  20. Lea Margaret says:

I DO NOT have the words to express the excitment! Davis Wade has NEVER been so LOUD! We were all shaking, well into halftime. I thought of my mother after that because in 1980 when we beat Alabama 6-3. My mother said that she wanted to live long enough to see us beat The Bear. After that game she said that she was afraid to go to bed that night. I can not wait to hear your recap.

  21. Lea Margaret says:

OH! And seeing you and Sister was pretty exciting too!

  22. the crowd noise was so loud the voices drowned out the cowbells.
    GO DAWGS!

  23. sigh….

    ….sigh….

You had to post the clip, didn’t you? ;)

    So. Much. Pain.

But that was a darn good play, Dawgs :)

JPW was way off his game. I think we all grew tired of hearing “JPW throws it away” Your guys have a great defense. At least we have the consolation of knowing that y’all beat Auburn too :)

  24. Also, I found myself saying/thinking, “COME ON NOW SONS!” many, many times during that game! :)

  25. I kept checking on y’all’s score and was thrilled with the outcome! I’m not an especially big MS State fan, being an alum of Ole Miss and more importantly, a Vol fan, but I HATE Alabama, so I was rootin’ the Bulldogs on, you betcha! ;)

  26. Nice – glad you had a good time. I am sorry your skin looks like parchment paper in November!
I hope you got some sleep and I am sure you did after all that excitement :) !
    Kim

  27. That must have been so exciting! I thought of you and how happy you must be while watching the scores crawl across the bottom of the screen. My team scored 62 points and still lost!!! I can at least say I witnessed history. Yea for your team though!

  28. My son’s birthday party was Saturday morning. Afterwards, my mother and I were cleaning up and visiting and Dad was in the den watching the game. It was around 12:30 and we heard him say, with increasing volume, “Go! Go, go, go go! GO!!! GO!!!” Mom couldn’t go and look at the TV for fear she’d jinx it – that was the awesome run back for a touchdown.

THEN later we were at a local gift shop for Christmas open house. They had a TV on with the game playing. About 46 seconds left in the game. By the time that wound down, everybody in the store was right there glued to the TV.

    Awesome game!
