This Giveaway Is Proudly Sponsored By My Crazy

Sunday afternoon I decided that Alex’s closet was cluttered enough to be deemed Officially Hazardous, so yesterday I spent most of the morning sorting through old books, old clothes, old toys and old shoes.

And in case you’re wondering if I took a picture of the final product, well, OF COURSE I DID.

Now granted, you can only see one side of closet in the picture, but the other side of the closet is cleaned out, too. And besides, do you notice THAT WHOLE BIG SPACE WITH NOTHING ON IT?

I’m telling you: that whole big space with nothing on it is one of the crowning achievements of my life.

Or at least of my life in, you know, May.

And ever since I finished working in that closet, I have been on what my mama would call a RIP IT. I’ve stripped beds, mopped floors, cleaned bathrooms, washed and put away about eight loads of laundry, and I’m about to tackle my baseboards as soon as I post this because I believe it’s been well-established that I am an all-or-nothing girl, so as far as I’m concerned I can either clean my house until it shines or sit on the couch, eat Cheetos and watch HGTV.

And today I choose to clean.

But tomorrow there’s an excellent chance that the Cheetos will win.

(Now please hold for one second while I mop.)

(I’m not even kidding.)

(I’m making you sort of tired, aren’t I?)

(IMAGINE WHAT A DELIGHT IT IS TO LIVE WITH ME!)

(Okay. I’m back now.)

Anyway!

At some point in my massive housecleaning extravaganza, I decided to tackle the bar in our living room, and I kept finding CDs tucked away in drawers. And after I happened upon about the ninth CD, I was all, Why do I have all these CDs taking up valuable storage space? Couldn’t I be using this space much more effectively? Like to store Windex? Or Pledge? Or Clorox? Or some other cleaning product that would help me to maintain the completely unattainable level of clean that I am striving for over the next two days before I get back on the couch and eat Cheetos again?

Oh, make no mistake, people: I am a CARNIVAL of insanity.

So!

I now have this stack-o-CDs that I don’t really need anymore because they’re either a preview copies someone sent me or they’re left over from a giveaway or they’re already on my iTunes or someone is sneaking into my house at night and leaving stray copies of contemporary Christian music in random drawers behind the bar in my living room.

Regardless!

I’d love to send one of you the whole stack-o-CDs. There are probably eleven or twelve CDs in the stack right now (Third Day, Leeland, Casting Crowns, Matt Redman, etc. and so on and so forth), but that number could increase as I clean out additional drawers in additional areas of the house where I’m doing some additional cleaning.

CAN ANYONE TELL THAT I’M HOME ALONE TODAY?

So if you’d like to win, just leave me a comment and tell me so. I’ll close the comments sometime tomorrow morning and then select a winner using random.org.

Please know that my crazy and I thank you in advance for your participation.

And have a great day, y’all.

This giveaway is now closed.

I would love to win this for my boy. He is 25 and in Oct. was infected with viral meningitis. He went into kidney failure and almost died. After 32 days in ICU and then a couple more in the regular room, he he was able to go to a rehab hospital. He spent 5 weeks there and has been doing out patient therapy since.

Does my story sound sad enough? Actually, it is a true story and we are so happy to have him at home with us as he continues to get better.

Music is great therapy for him and I hope I win.

  2. Have been reading along with your blog but have commented before. What better time to post a first comment than a chance to win your fabulous stack-o-cd’s.

Your post was too funny and I am the same way- I either clean and scrub it all in about two days or I don’t do any of it. I feel myself gearing up to a massive cleaning and clearing frenzy.

    Cara

  3. New music for summer. Yeah.

  4. I’d like to win! I can always use more CDs cluttering up my shelves!

  5. I have to say, Boomama, that I (sadly…) have therapeutic sessions when I clean my house. I don’t understand it. I just…well, I clean. It’s a talent, used to be a hobby….my sessions have slacked off over the past years with a toddler added to the family….among other life things….sooooo…would I realllly want or need MORE cds in my drawers here at home? Probably not! But should I be the random winner chosen…I will make sure those cds find a proper owner.

  6. OK, I would love to win these CD’s because I have a houseful of teenagers and young-twenties who listen to music on four stereos, an ipod and two computers AT THE SAME TIME and, after all, we NEED more music around here. Yes, it’s a need.

  7. My daughter is always looking for great CD’s and I am too cheap to keep buying them. She and I would love to adopt yours!!!!

  10. Oooohhhhhh! I would love to win! My cd collection is in dire need of updating. I’d never even heard of Leeland until a few Sundays ago… they are doing a concert at our church in July and I heard my first song of theirs last weekend. And I fell instantly in love with their music. If I don’t win your cd giveaway (sniff, sniff) then I’ll be heading out to buy a cd of theirs on my own… and I’d really rather save the gas money thank you very much. lol! Thanks for the chance to win.

  14. Mary Lou says:

I would love some new CD’s. Wow, Sophie you have inspired me to clean, now IF I could get all of my closets to look like yours…I am busy cleaning out my husband’s office to move it home. I will be a shredding fool when I get to bring the shredder home…I love words too much and have too many papers saved that don’t need to be saved. Sure hope the number thing picks me…Thanks for the great laughs…I bet you are funny without trying to be funny. You add to my day. Blessings…

  15. I am so in awe of your cleaning bonanza! I set out to that yesterday… However, I managed to wash a load and a half of clothes a load of dishes and get dinner on the table at a reasonable hour. WHOO HOO! And I have about 50 graduation invitations to get in the mail as well! So… please send me your refreshing stack of CDs… I believe mine are all in the garage in a box or… they have been mysteriously eaten by that abominable CD Monster… Because I am sure we have one. (Or, maybe, just maybe I left them in the rental car before we moved… which is my worst nightmare! I had nearly 100 worship cds that just took me away… better than Calgon, which I am sure you will need after your cleaning frenzy! Blessings.

  16. AnnieH says:

And I’ll have you know that I was home all day yesterday alone and I cleaned too!!! I wouldn’t even bother mentioning that except that it was honestly, truly a miracle all that Jesus and I got done together.

And just because I know you’ll read this before getting caught up on your email again… our church did read the thing I asked you about at our brunch and it was delightful and divine how it all fit together. Thanks for writing back to me!!! : )

Drove me crazy until I got them all sorted by ink color in ziploc bags and stored in one large draw. Whew. I could use some new music to take my mind off of all the useless writing instruments in my house!

  31. that should be drawER, not draw. And i did it wrong twice. Yikes.

  43. I loved the last CD you sent me, so it pretty much goes without saying I’d love it if you sent me 11 or 12. :0 )

  44. Boo-
I’m wondering if you’re expecting and maybe due in a day or two? That kind of “nesting” usually happens around then!

Just kidding– it is truly scary how much alike we are in this regard- my only caveat is that I married a total pack rat, and am not allowed to throw things out without clearing them through him first. I know it sounds crazy, but it really does keep our marriage happy. He obtains it, I organize and store it. Sigh…Rubbermaid totes can be your best friend, I tell ya!

I have just recently re-entered the Christian music scene and would love a free CD> Thanks for cleaning!

On another note, have you ever heard of Bid Daddy Weave? They are my current new favorite- I LOVE< LOVE< LOVE them. Of course, you’ve probably already got all their music on your ipod– oh to be so with it!

    Thanks for the laughs.

  45. Count me in, too!

  47. Kristi says:
