There were troubles a-plenty for all of our Office couples tonight. The Pam and Jim stuff was (initially) a bummer. The Andy and Angela stuff was painfully awkward. And it seems that Ryan only wants Kelly when he can’t have her. However, I did so enjoy seeing Andy return to his role as Michael’s wingman…not to mention that Andy and Oscar were oddly charming together and made me smile.
My favorites:
1) “I’m going on an international business trip.”
2) “To Cah-NAH-dah.”
3) “You wanna wear that puppy right up on the breastbone like a bra.”
4) “I know my way around a van. THAT is just a van.”
5) Michael and the beverage cart
6) Ryan’s one-armed push-ups (“That door is CLOSED.”)
7) “I think it’s better to die with people that you like, like Oscar and Andy and Concierge Marie.”
8) “How could anyone STAND that woman? What do you see in her? I’d like to know what is wrong with her!”
9) Darrell walking out to his truck, MY WORD.
10) “Wing Man For Life: WMFL.”
11) “I had to go all the way to Canada to meet a man who sits twenty feet away from me. And he’s DELIGHTFUL!”
12) “I could be making more money as a doctor or a professional athlete.”
And by the way, do you know what we said at the end of tonight’s episode?
“YAAAAAAAAAY!”
Made the whole thing worthwhile.
p.s. Are any of you watching “30 Rock,” too?

I’m glad to read this. I’m not a regular office watcher, but I watch enough to care about Jim and Pam. On the west coast, I’m just half way through the episode feeling very sad for them! After reading this, I’ve got some hope.
Dwight on the phone when drunk-Andy calls Angela.
Pam and Jim YAAAAAAY!
“30 Rock” is, to quote Andy, “DELIGHTFUL!”
I LOVE drunk Oscar!! He made me laugh so hard!
’30 Rock’ Rocks my world! I may require some sort of intervention because I fall asleep every night watching DVDs from the first two seasons (typing that out made me realize how sad it really is. My poor husband!).
I LOVED tonight’s episode!!! My biggest question was, what did Michael do to get kicked out of Concierge Marie’s room? Tooooooooo funny!
I didn’t like 30 Rock in the beginning but it has definitely grown on me. It may even make the DVR list.
I really loved Andy and Oscar in this one. It was a great episode. And Dwight appearing out of nowhere when Jim and Pam were kissing was classic.
I almost cried at the end w/Jim and Pam!
And, yes, we love 30 Rock, too! My favorite quote is from last year: “I’m 37. Please don’t make me go to Brooklyn.”
“So you’re back? I need five copies of this.”
I’m a newbie to 30 Rock, but I love it almost as much as The Office. It’s like SNL when it’s funny. Alex Baldwin has found his role…
Xandra
I about fell of the couch when Michael got hit by the beverage cart.
And the egg salad conversation – too funny.
“Welcome to Cribz, Business Class edition.” “Michael G. Scott, rollin’ like a piiiimmmp” :)
Last night while I was watching, I couldn’t help but think,”What is BooMama thinking about this episode?” We should start live-blogging every Thursday night.
You’re invited to a Great Gift Ideas party at windycorner. Come on over!
Oh dear. You absolutely stole all my thoughts. Last night was The Office I know and love!
I started watching 30 Rock last week (Tina Fey as Princess Leia to get out of jury duty? HILARIOUS.), and surprisingly, enjoyed it very much. Last night was a bit too much for me in terms of adult-themed topics, but it is really funny. I love Tracy Jordan.
While I type this, it is snowing outside! SNOW?! It was 70 degrees yesterday and today snow.
Okie dokie. How about everybody giving Jim various looks and saying 1.more.week? Stanley’s expression was exceptionally quirky-weird and made us laugh.
We laughed at the cart on the plane and the blue eye cover for Michael to sleep.
We squirmed at Michael’s interaction with the concierge aka geisha (of all things!). And we squirmed at Andy trying to set Oscar up–we totally covered our heads in discomfort.
By the way, we watched “License to Wed” this week and there were a few of actors from The Office in it–Angela, Kevin, Kelly and of course Jim.
The beverage cart on the plane. The egg salad sandwiches.
It was worth the day I had to enjoy those belly laughs. I loved that mask on Michael.
Oh, Jim and Pam, BONUS!
I like 30 Rock, but it is just a little weird. I feel guilty that I like it sometimes.
I just started watching 30 Rock three weeks ago and I’m liking it. I have to agree with the girl @love God not money on the adult-themed topics last night, though. My 17yo son was watching it with me… :(
I bet when Michael was in Marie’s room, he said something about Holly.
This is SO painful. I really hope Holly comes back sometime soon.
I think the phrase, “chest-bump” is hilarious. If you just think about those two doing an actual chest bump… wow.
Two words: Oh, Dwight…
“I love all things International.
Pancakes.”
ha ha ha ha ha on the IHOP reference. Oh my word!!
Loved it…and Liz Lemon, also, is “delightful!”
I LOVE Andy. When he said, “DELIGHTFUL!” I yelled out, “I LOVE ANDY! DELIGHTFUL!” :) Great episode. Perhaps near perfect. Just needed more Stanley. :)
We’ve seen parts of 30 Rock the last couple weeks. We liked it! That page with his arm in the air still has me laughing. I wonder if we should rent the first season?!
“You look, how you say, radiant tonight.”
Poor, poor Michael. I want them to bring Holly back! Andy was CRACKING ME UP with his Long Island Iced Teas and drunk-dialing Angela. Wowsers. And, of course I whooped for joy when Pam was standing in the parking lot!
I like 30 Rock, I just don’t get to see it as often because I don’t have it set to record on the DVR. Alec Baldwin is hilaaaaaaaarious on that show!
I loved this episode–I really thought the writing was spot-on. SOOO many good lines. I loved when drunk Oscar giggled. I also loved when Oscar told Andy he couldn’t believe they’d called her last night, and Andy replied manically, “WE DID!?!?! THAT WAS REAL?!?!?” And THANK YOU, writers, for giving us back Jim and Pam. I was so sad for them.
And yes, we do enjoy 30 Rock–didn’t so much at the beginning, but its writing has gotten better and better. Sometime, go back and watch the episode from last season where Alec Baldwin role-plays family therapy with Tracy. He’s brilliant!
LOVE both of these shows. They are about the only two shows my husband and I watch together, those and Survivor. So glad Jim & Pam are back and I loved Daryls walk to his truck!! This whole episode was funny!
I was not happy with the 12 more weeks. But then at the end…definitely an awwwww.
And I loved Daryl walking to his car!
And Concierge Marie, the geisha of the hotel world! LOVE IT.
I so know the “whole nine ‘nards” would appear on the blog. Loved this episode, especially Pam and Jim.
I LOVE 30 Rock. Hi-larious…
I LOVE this show, and I love your blog…I even introduced my husband to it last night and told him about your Office re-caps! I am an MSU Bulldog (praying for mercy in Tuscaloosa tomorrow!!!)displaced in Alabama, so I especially appreciate those State posts too! Have a great weekend!
I didn’t actually love the episode . . . maybe my crying baby (and exhaustion) interfered with the funny – haha
but i did like the drunk dialing and am SO glad Pam’s back!
I only caught the last fifteen minutes, but it looks like I’ll need to go find the first fifteen. 30 Rock was just okay last night. I thought, anyway. Love me some Jennifer A., but… meh.
What an episode! I still can’t help but feel like something will go wrong for Jim and Pam. But at least they’re in the same city again.
We looove 30 Rock. My favorite moment was from last season when Floyd comes back, and he’s getting in the cab to leave, and Liz is being so cavalier and cool, and then she sees a few kids across the street and goes “Oh God. Youths.” and darts in her building.
Andy had not been one of my favorite characters, but last night…he had me at “Delightful”…Now I am an Andy fan.
I can’t wait for the Angela/Andy wedding episode at the Schrute Beet Farm.
I was relieved that Pam came back. I was worried about the guy from her Art School who told her he thought she should stay in New York.
Girl, you know I watch 30 Rock! Favorite line from last night (in reference to Jennifer Anniston, Liz Lemon’s psycho friend): “She’s staunchly in favor of Cocoa Puffs.”
DELIGHTFUL! Yeah, I thought of you first when Andy said that. And the egg salad thing cracked me up, too. “Did you bring a bag of baby poop, too?” Oh and we watch 30 Rock as well. Loved seeing Harry & Christine again. I just want to bring Kenneth Parcell home and cook for ‘im and hold him and rock him for a little bit on my lap. He’s just so sweet and lovable and innocent.
Ryan…somehow the best I can do is Kelly…and she took that as a compliment!
And, Michael…enough said.
I love Andy in this episode. Best episode with Andy since the golf cart.
Can’t wait to see what happens with Dwight/Angela/Andy!
I was go glad to see Pam standing in the parking lot waiting for Jim! Couldn’t you just slap Dwight!!!!! How rude can one be? The entire episode was great. So many really funny things happened. I do hope Holly and Michael can get together. Andy in the red beret speaking French just cracked me up. A week is just too long to wait for each episode.
I also loved the Michael’s highly inappropriate and culturally insensitive foreign facts, such as “In Japan, you always have to commit suicide to avoid embarrassment.”
I have been watching 30 Rock, and wish I hadn’t started so late. Last night it was almost scary, though!
Loved it loved it loved it.. laughed out loud at the beverage cart, and teared up at Pam in the parking lot (maybe I’m a little too invested in this??). Maybe we should let the writers know about your blog so that they can see how appreciated a show like last nights is!
I’m kind of tired of Tina Fey but I did watch last night and laughed quite a bit. My husband thinks Jennifer Aniston’s “ten kindsa crazy.” And that Office episode was, indeed, “DELIGHTFUL!”
#1. Yes, I’m watching 30 Rock, as well. (Mike’s choice.)
#2. If you look at my Facebook status from 9:31 last night, you will read the words, “YAY! Jim + Pam = 4ever!!!” :)
#3. “Michael and the beverage cart” almost caused disaster in my household, because Mike and I started laughing so genuinely and loudly that I was absolutely sure we were going to wake up our beautiful sleeping children.
I loved the DELIGHTFUL comment!! It was my favorite!
I don’t know if you had a chance to see “Andy”…the actor, not the character…on Conan a couple of weeks ago. He was hilarious. I love when an actor is funny in real life, too, not just on a show.
He said that whenever he sees fans, they always yell out “Rit dit dit dit dit do” like he does on the show, and one time he was in a hurry and couldn’t sign an autograph, and the fan yelled, “Rit dit dit dit dit-douchbag.” And he loved it and thought it was hilarious that the guy said that and gave him the autograph anyway. :)
Yes!! Loved this episode and love 30 Rock!
This episode was a good one, with the exception of the concierge awkwardness. Michael must be extremely upset to be questioning his loyalty to Dunder-Miflin, ya know? I mean, he’s never once questioned their loyalty to him or his affection for the company. He must really LOVE Holly.
I’m so glad that Jim didn’t nag Pam about moving back to Scranton — he let her make her own decision. He’s such a big boy!
My other favorite moment was hearing Dwight in the background on Angela’s phone, “Who is that, Monkey?” *GASP* I totally didn’t expect that.
“You’ll thank me when they spank thee.” That was my fav for the night.
I love both The Office and 30 Rock, but I don’t know… maybe it’s me, this week they were both a little… off.
As a Canadian I appreciated a lack of the usual same 3 lame jokes about Canada. Although I think there was mention of back bacon but that’s probably because it is against the law for an American (especially talk show hosts) to not mention it when referring to Canada. Personally hate the stuff, but that’s just me.
Maybe I was tired but I didn’t get the lift I expected to feel when Pam came home. I did like how Dwight showed up IMMEDIATELY. That was classic.
I have to say that I loved the entire episode!
But, the thing I love the most is how they always let you know in some way that Michael really is good at his job. He’s a great salesman even though he is quirky! He landed the sale just like he does every time.
A great episode for sure. Too funny… International trip.. “she’s like a geisha”
Laughed so hard.
YES…We LOVE 30 rock, been watching from day one!
Andy: She’s taking us back to first base.
Oscar: What’s first base with Angela?
Andy: I get to kiss her forehead…
Hubby and I thought that was hysterical! Now he kisses me on the forehead and we crack up laughing!!
Great episode, and SOOO happy to have Pam back. What about Dwight asking her for copies out in the parking lot? Great show. haha!
So great. Yep, Andy is super duper. He and Oscar’s night was classic!
Oh my goodness, I had a wedding out of town — and why can’t I just take my Tivo with me? Watched it tonight. Your #11? Hysterical. Cracked me up. I completed my YAAYYYYYYYY at the end with girlie hand clapping too.
And definitely, Dwight asking her to make copies in the parking lot was too funny.
Help!! Can you tell me what does this “whole nine ‘nards” mean? I’m a Polish Office fan and I really don’t get this..
Agnes, we say “The Whole Nine Yards” when we say that someone gets everything. But because Andy’s last name is Bernard he said the “Whole Nine ‘Nards”, as in Oscar would get all that Andy had to give to help him find a date that night.
I liked “I like all things international – pancakes, coffee, and man of mystery”. (or something like that)
Thanks a lot!I know the idiom “The Whole Nine Yards I just couln’t figure out the “‘N “in it :-)
