Wait! I want to know more! He said something about her surprising him that weekend – so did she surprise him by showing up but he really knew it and then proposed?
Yes… this is Ashley’s sister. She surprised him by getting a ticket on his plane to Pittsburg, but my mom and Travis had already given Kevin the head’s up so he could trump her with a slightly better surprise :)
Oh. . .that is just awesome. . .I can’t quit smiling. My own husband and I celebrated 16 years of marriage yesterday. And we celebrated it with a party for our 8 year old son. Our anniversary has been trumped by a birth and then birthday parties for the past 8 years, but we love it.
Hi, Sophie! I’ve been lurking for a while, but haven’t yet commented. I was super excited to hear you were going to be in Pittsburgh this weekend. I was there too! I was able to spot you last night :-)
I about jumped out of my skin when Kevin proposed….women all around me were crying! I knew something was up when everyone else but the two of them had left the stage….I was pretty sure at that point that he was getting ready to propose. The absolute best part was watching her face as she figured out what was going on :-)
It was so great to see you even if it was from across the room! I wish I could have gotten down there to actually talk to you!
please say you’ll blog the bachelorette tomorrow night because I am going to have to miss it, can’t tape it, and your blow by blow accounts are almost as good as the real thing!!
Okay, that is SO sweet! Here’s something a little crazy – I was a youth leader for Ashley in highschool. I did not recognize her until he said her name, so it makes the whole thing even more fun for me ;)
Boy that made my day twice now… once there, and OH MY was that some of the best, and again this morning. Beth Moore spoke some of the best stuff I have heard in a long time. Thanks for sharing :)
Thanks for posting this! As Kevin’s cousin–our entire family in SWMO was so happy we could relive this with the 2 of them. I seriously started crying when I watched this! Thanks again!
Okay. Nuh uh! I may know this girl. I haven’t seen her in a jillion years – since we were kids, living in Memphis (if it’s really her), but, can anyone confirm…
Oh my goodness. That DID make my day!!

It’s Kevin’s 30th birthday – Ashley surprised him by showing up in Pittsburgh – but he found out ahead of time, so he surprised her with a ring!
