1. In the midst of this past weekend’s technical difficulties, I completely forgot to close comments on the “Love Story” CD giveaway and draw for winners. So I just closed comments a few minutes ago, and I’ll draw for winners tomorrow. I’d draw for winners tonight but quite frankly it’s just too late for my mind to deal with all those numbers.
2. After I put supper in the oven tonight I sat down to catch up on a few blogs. This post was the first one I read, and the honesty in it just blew me away.
3. This morning I was flipping back through my journal (the one where I write on real-live paper with a real-live pen, just like in THE DAYS OF YORE), and I saw this verse from Proverbs 19 at the bottom of one of the pages: “Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.” Haven’t stopped thinking about that all day. Mighty fine dose of perspective.
4. Are any of y’all watching “Design Star” on HGTV? Who’s your favorite? I really like Torie and Dan. And also: I’m dying to know what kind of hairspray Torie uses because she achieves some SERIOUS hold.
5. This post by Missy is absolutely beautiful.
6. I am currently in the process of trying to solidify my hair goals for the fall. Have y’all seen any cute haircuts lately? Anything sassy and fun? Please feel oh-so-free to share.

Thinking on my Fall hair agenda as well. I think we’re both safe as long as we don’t do the Kate Gosselin.
My thoughts exactly Amber. Please don’t do the “Kate”!!
Now, I know you are willing to travel for good hair. So. If you are so inclined to travel to Chattanooga {so close!!} I can wholeheartedly recommend my girl. She is a true artiste. I gave her free reign and it is the best haircut I’ve ever gotten. EVER.
Oh, also: between “Love Story” and that little perspective gem you just shared…God is doing something good in my heart. Thanks for pointing us all towards the good stuff.
I am totally honored to be on a list with David Platt, Shaun Groves, the Prov 31 Woman, HGTV, and cute hair.
xo
I’m watching Design Star but don’t have a favorite yet.
Thank you for this post and those links. They touched me in such a powerful way. Thank you.
Personally, the thing I find most kicky and fun is the way you so often mention your “hair goals.” Like hair is a school year, or a writing gig, or a business venture. I must be behind the times, as I may aspire to have Beth Moore hair, but I haven’t yet quite thought out my “goals” for attaining such a feat.
My sweet daughter just got a new hairdo! She’s had long (past her shoulders, easy to ponytail) hair forever, and she just got the cutest bob ever! It’s shorter in back (about at her hairline), and longer in the front, just past her chin. (It’s in the Sassoon tradition.) It’s a snap to do, and it looks fabulous – flirty, fun, and sophisticated, all at the same time! Adorable! Highly recommended!
I am so ready for some new hair too. But I’m pretty sure that since I don’t live in the South (well, unless Southern California counts, and I don’t think it does), I’m pretty sure my options won’t include as much volume and Aqua Net as the options you might be presented with. ;) So I’m really no help at all.
Except to say yes- listen to comment #1.
And thank you SO much for sharing the link to Missy’s blog. I had never read her blog before but I will be a reader forever after that.
Thank you for the link to Shaun’s post. Honesty such as his is somehow humbling and encouraging at the same time.
I so love it when you list links to other blogs! LOVE IT!
Oh…and I’m going to name drop a little and say that I know LAST YEAR’s Design Star winner, Jennifer Bertrand. We used to work together!
watching Design Star…and loving it! So glad that Tashica went bye bye last week, though I didn’t love how the judges did it. Felt rude. Oh well….
I am watching Design Star, but don’t have a clear fav. yet. I do like Dan and was so glad Tashica was let go. I do agree with Jennie, the way they let her go wasn’t nice. Shaun’s blog was amazing, I will be “following” his blog now.
OK – to the most important issue – hair!! I just found a great stylist in Temple GA – about 10 miles east of the AL line if you are interested. : )
That verse in Proverbs is my life verse. Always interesting to see when God uses it in someone’s life!
DEAR BOO,
I HAVE BEEN SO BLESSED TODAY ESPECIALLY BY THE LINKS YOU GAVE US. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING YOUR LIFE, LOVE OF GOD & CHRIST, & YOUR WONDERFUL SENSE OF HUMOR.
GOD BLESS YOU
TR
I’m pretty sure I’m last last person evah to find your blog, but wanted to say I love it!
And, I agree,Shaun’s last post was so moving.
i just got In Style HAIR issue from barnes & noble! Go get it!! its great!!
Just got my hair done- my hair chick BEGGED me to cut it like Katie Holmes- kind of a short, shaggy, bob- I abstained for now though- waiting divine inspiration- if God whispers a hair cut to me in the next few days, I’ll let you know!
Torie is my total fav too! I was glad to see Tashika go. It was overdue!
I like Torie too! I think Dan is a good designer, but his eyebrows are a little too groomed for a man, in my opinion :o)
I’m watching Design Star and I like Torie. Dan’s eyes kind of freak me out, like he is wearing too much eye makeup.
I have never considered a fall hair goal, maybe I should. I have had the same hair for almost 2 years, just varying the length. Let us know what you come up with and maybe we can all get the BooMama cut.
Okay — when you find that cute new haircut will you please share. I told my hair wizard (aka oldest daughter) I wanted something funky & fun, she said no. I think I need something new…… so I want any ideas you cast off.
Thank for putting that verse from Proverbs 19 in this post. It totally speaks to something I’m struggling with, and I needed to read that today.
I just saw the CUTEST haircut on TV the other day and there is probably no way in the world to locate a “still shot” of it. I was really bored one night and caught this show called “Holidate” where two women trade cities and go on blind dates the other gal set them up on. WELL, the episode I saw, an ex-model (think JCrew type) from LA and an executive from NY swapped cities, dates, etc. The girl from CA had absolutely the most adorable, classy short do I’ve ever seen (surely it couldn’t be that she is a beautiful model that colored my perspective?). I’d love to copy it, but alas, I have no idea how to find it. She was blond and the cut was short in back (not shaved short, but cropped) and it was longer near her face. Definitely not as harsh a do as Kate G.s This gals was very very classy. More info than you needed, but this haircut’s been on my mind and you brought it up. ;)
Okay, I found a pic of the gal I referred to earlier! Google “Christian Cloud” (her name) and click on the first result – then look for her Macy’s ad. So cute! Sorry for TMI here.
Torie. she’s toooo cute. Texas hair always inspires me.
