It’s been almost two years since I went to Uganda.
TWO YEARS.
The memories from that trip are still so fresh in my mind – and you know what? I’m just as blown away by the work Compassion is doing as I was when I came home. There’s not a doubt in my mind that our family will be involved with Compassion for the rest of our lives. We’re committed to our sponsor child for the long haul.
Since the Uganda trip (did I mention that it was almost TWO YEARS AGO?), Compassion has taken two other incredible blogger trips to the Dominican Republic and India. Children’s lives are forever changed as a result. And this week – starting today, in fact – there’s a group of Compassion bloggers in El Salvador.
My wordiness is tempting me to get all long-winded at this point, but I’m going to fight the wordiness for once. Oh yes I am. Because I want to encourage you to give yourself the gift of following the Compassion bloggers this week. Read their posts. Follow them . Look at their pictures. See the faces of the sweet children they meet. Consider .
I’m sure that over the next few nights I’ll find myself waiting for the next post from Kelly or Heather or Molly or Keely or Patricia or Shaun. I just cannot wait to see what God does in and through them so that children can be released from poverty in Jesus’ name.
And I guess if you get right down to it, the bottom line is this: I may not be in El Salvador.
But I wouldn’t miss this trip for the world.

I LOVE Compassion!!!! I actually found your blog after I started sponsoring my two girls (one in El Salvador and one in Haiti). My sweet cousin has followed your blog for awhile and she told me about your trip and your posts…now I read your blog on a daily basis!! I kept posting links to your blog on my blog b/c I wanted my family and friends to read your words about Compassion. I didn’t realize it was almost 2 years since you’ve been on the trip. I first read all of your posts a few weeks ago…so the links on my blog(to your posts) are actually not that far back on my blog…which means your trip is STILL inspiring people!! I can’t wait to take my own trip w/ Compassion!!
Your trip brought Sofia into our family and our hearts. I adore Compassion and am so thankful that we can help!!
I’m hanging on every word these bloggers have to say this week and praying for so many children to be released from poverty and given a life of hope in Christ!!!
Hugs,
Fran

It has NOT been two years since Uganda. Oh my word. That trip, through your eyes, rocked my world. Thank you, friend.
