Well. I got a new podcasting microphone for Christmas, and apparently I was so excited about using it that I was unsuccessful with recording the first 40 minutes when Melanie and I were talking. NOW ISN’T THAT SOME SWEET IRONY?
Even still, I was delighted to introduce this little treasure to the podcasting festivities.
(I’m not sure that there’s anything that has ever cemented my FULL-ON NERD status like the fact that I was just as tickled as I could be to get a new podcasting microphone for Christmas.)
(I told Melanie that it makes me feel like I’m Loretta Lynn in the recording studio back in the 1950s.)
(Because sure.)
Anyway, this time around we talk about clothes, homework, TV, desks, and some other riveting topics. At the end of the podcast Melanie gets some very exciting news, and I’m fairly certain that I overreact. But I overreact when Ranch dressing goes on sale, so please know that my SURGE OF ENTHUSIASM is totally true to my character.
You can click here to listen. Or here. Or, as always, you can subscribe on iTunes if you’re feeling particularly fancy.
Enjoy, y’all!

Hey Sophie! :) Yah, I can’t wait to listen. I love you guys!! Also, that microphone is cool. Love it!! xoxo
P.S. Love the Loretta reference…… You’re my kinda woman!
I’m SUPER excited for another podcast! Yay!!! Hope you have a great day:)
Loved the podcast and I’m in total agreement with homework! Goodness! Give the kids (and moms) a break! I’m dying to hear the non-recorded beauty tips, but that’ll have to wait. And what a fancy microphone! Loved the who 53 minutes of it!
What a pretty microphone (I never thought I would say that). Since I am so fancy, I went ahead a subscribed to your podcasts on iTunes. In reality, I am just so scatterbrained I have to have things delivered to me…
Wow. The homework for completion conversation. Wow. I’m an elementary principal near Austin and homework is for work not completed in class (usually due to a student taking a “mental vacation”), reading or meaningful review. It’s never for completion grades. Hello: Families should be remembered after the last bell rings.
Loved the podcast. I agree with you both regarding the arts and crafts projects for students. I can still work myself into a good self-righteous fit when I remember the time and effort my daughter spent on those kind of assignments. I should probably get over it as she is 23 years old, graduated last year from UVA, and she was really good at those projects.
Good luck solving the desk issue.
I flat out cackled TWICE!! First, the reaction when it was revealed that it was CLAY required in the project-hilarious. And when Sophie starts quoting Isaiah over the Twitter follow? Fantastic.
Loved it! Can’t wait for next time!
Just wanted to say it might be a safety hazard to continue to listen to y’all on my way home from work. I giggled so much I had to tell myself to regroup while driving I-55 northbound. Thanks for the great laughs, as always!
I adored this podcast!!!! It was so funny to me. My favorite part was about the project. As a retired teacher and principal, I agree completely with your opinions!!! I almost rolled off the bed when I was listening because I was laughing so hard!!!!!
