Over There

Hey y’all –

Just popping in (did I really just say “popping in”? apparently I am smack-dab in the middle of a 1974 Folgers coffee commercial.) to say that I wrote a recap of last night’s American Idol over at Ree’s blog. If you’re interested in that sort of thing, of course.

Also, I would like to say that if you’re not interested in that sort of thing, you may find that Harry Connick, Jr. has the power to change your mind.

Because if I could, I would insert ALL THE EMOJIS into this post. He is that good – such a welcome addition.

Hope you’re having a great Thursday!

  1. 1) Yes! I loved that he called out the girl singing inappropriate songs. I was thinking the same thing.
    2) The terrible singer with the great knock-knock joke rambled something, and Harry said, “Yeah, I didn’t get one word of that”. I about died. So funny.

What a great addition he is. And when they played the montage about no one knowing who he was, I kept thinking “have they not seen Hope Floats?”. Then I realized that movie is 15 years old and realized most of them were toddlers, and then felt old and….old.

    Great post!

I thought this judges panel would be a good fit and it IS! Loved the show…looking forward to this season

  3. ALL THE EMOJIS…. You make me giggle, BooMama! I’ll confess I haven’t watched AI yet this season but I do love Harry Connick, Jr. Maybe I’ll try to follow this season, although I’m terrible at committing to real-time reality shows/ competitions. It just makes me so nervous for them, it’s like watching the Miss America Pageant but stretched out over months! I do love Miss America, but I just don’t know if I can handle that kind of pressure for that length of time, haha!

  4. And for some reason my eyes read flopping in, instead of popping in, until I re-read it. Must be my mind seeing how I feel tonight, flopping around like a fish after a long day.

Harry is a bit much for me sometimes, but easy on the eyes. I do like their dynamic. Hopefully it’ll be a good season. It would take a lot on their part to be any worse than last season – shutter, I’d prefer to forget all about last season.

Oh and ya, bought your book, and am loving it. I knew I would.

    nighter night, boo mama.

    Nell

I totally agree. I have not watched Idol in several seasons but am a huge Harry fan. Based on that and your excitement, I decided to give it a try this week. I am more in love with him and completely hooked in. He is a breath of fresh air. He is eloquently offering his musical expertise. I had no idea how funny he was either. I have laughed out loud several times.

  6. I LOVE idol this season, the judges are great, and oh Harry Connick Jr. has always been one of my fav’s his personality KILLS me..love love love!

  7. I LOVE Harry Connick Jr.!!! I would watch him on anything – even a snoozer of a golf show!

  8. AI hasn’t had credibility for awhile (if it ever really had it), but that finally seems to be changing. Yay for the improvements this season!

  9. Good day! I could have sworn I’ve been to this blog before but after browsing through
some of the post I realized it’s new to me. Anyhow, I’m definitely delighted I found it and I’ll be
    book-marking and checking back frequently!
