I can’t even wait to listen to this……I still am obsessed with the royal wedding, and find myself thinking, “I wonder what Megan is doing right now?” Ahhhhh the life of a royal
The veil was gorgeous for sure and I loved it, but does a woman on her third marriage really need a veil?
She was absolutely stunning, and I liked hers much better than Kate’s and Diana’s. Initially I wasn’t sure, because it is so plain that it almost looked like a shroud to me, especially when she first got out of the car and the veil was all wrapped around her. I think it could have fitted her better in the sleeves as well. But having thought about it, I really love the dress. Much like her reception dress, Meghan brings the magic to the dress.
Did not like the children’s outfits, thought the little girls looked like old-school nurse’s uniforms and that the black was too stark for the little boys. They probably looked better in person.
I honestly didn’t like Stand By Me; the choir did it beautifully, but it seemed odd in such a setting. And I feel like if you’re gonna have a gospel choir, then let them bust out the Gospel songs. Between that and Rev Curry, I feel like it kind of gave the impression of Billy Bob and Jenny Sue got married in a castle; kind of an odd juxtaposition of American and British Royalty . I get that they were trying to bring her heritage into it, but to me the contrast was a bit much.
Overall, I thought the wedding was awesome and that she was the prettiest bride of my lifetime. God bless them both.
The cons: I agree with Tammy about Rev. Curry’s sermon. It was long-winded and over the top. I’m not criticizing anyone’s beliefs, but I just don’t think this was a time for evangelizing. It looked to me like he was bringing attention to himself rather than praying for God’s blessings on the marriage. Also, I thought Stand By Me was beautiful, but it seemed an odd song to have in a church or chapel. Save it for the reception. The cellist was outstanding.
Another criticism – Victoria Beckham’s dress was boring and she looked like she had swallowed a sour pickle. Oprah’s dress was very unflattering.
The pros:
Otherwise, it was a gorgeous, stunning ceremony that I could watch over and over. I’m glad I recorded every bit of it. It’s a real-life fairytale and I think they will have a very happy life together.
