  1. Ahhhhh! Sweetie, sweetie. I could just eat him up!

(and I’m loving your yard, too!!)

  2. Diane Pierce says:

So adorable! And wow … that is one heck of a driveway … I envy you!! Just curious if you get many trick or treaters willing to make that walk! :-)

  3. How adorable! I still kind of feel that way when my parents come for a visit.
Eve did this sort of thing while waiting for her grandparents to arrive awhile back – she plopped herself on the chair by the window armed with her blankie and pillows, fully prepared to sit there for the 7 hours it was going to take them to arrive. I just love children and the way they don’t hold any feelings back.
    Hope the visit is wonderful!

  4. you have one heck of a front yard!

  5. Wow! Your landscaping is gorgeous! I’m so jealous – all I have to look at is clay, rocks and weeds! (Howard is pretty cute too) :)

  6. Bless his heart. He’s ready for some Coca-Cola and donuts.

  7. Raising my hand high… your parents will just love this! Alex reminds me of Troy every night when I tell him it’s time for Daddy to come home–he goes and sits on the front step and swings his lil legs until he sees the car coming down the street.

That YARD… I’m trying not to be envious here.

  8. Oh my word, what a beautiful driveway!!!

  9. Oh I just can’t wait to hear how you respond to all these driveway compliments! Hope you are having a lovely visit. I remember BEING Howard, waiting for my own grandparents at the end of the driveway. That excitement and anticipation and the subsequent happy, loving reunion with the grandfolks are one-of-a-kind feelings every kid needs to get to have tons of times.

  10. Raise you hand if you think BooMama’s yard is beautiful.

  11. Ahhhh, we’re waiting for grandparents, too, but alas they won’t be able to come now until Christmas (sciatic nerve flare up).

What a wonderful memory you have captured!!

Can I also say I LOVE your driveway???
Oooh, I am excited about BigBoo cast this afternoon!
    Enjoy your family!!

  12. Bless his heart! How sweet! LOVE your driveway!:)

    Love, Sarah TN

  13. Geez louise, is that your DRIVEWAY? It’s gorgeous!

  14. That’s why I can’t wait to become a grandma! I bet grandma is in the car just as excited to get there as he is to have them arrive. Enjoy them!

  15. Can we trade drive ways?

  16. shoes are overrated. (at least they are for tiny man-children)

  17. How sweet. I bet Grandma and Grandpa are just at excited! That’s why they are called GRANDchildren.

  18. Precious pictures, and yest I agree, your yard is beautiful.

  19. Oh, how wonderful to have grandparents to love and be loved by! I was blessed with TWO sets growing up, and I’m gratefully passing the joy on to my kiddos–who just can’t WAIT to go up to Grandma and Grandpa’s house tomorrow.

And just DITTO to all the compliments on your driveway–it’s gorgeous. And I adore your front porch so much I’ve immediately adopted it for my dream house–without steps (I’ve a boy with spina bifida), but the brick and the flower beds and the little fence, oh my! What kind of flowers are those?

I’ll bet you all have a magical weekend. Enjoy!

  20. so…did they ever get there?

    Love the flowers!

  21. awww, isn’t that sweet…I meant your drive way…
    j/k..it is nice tho!

  22. My first thought…what a beautiful driveway/entryway…guess I wasn’t alone! :) My parents are visiting this weekend, too, and the kids are having a blast! Enjoy!!

  23. Amy Beth says:

    Your driveway? Beautiful.

  24. beautiful front yard! love all the shade.

  25. That’s so sweet! My kids just run for the door like crazy as soon as they hear the word! I LOVE your view out your front door, too! Beautiful!

    Brandi

  26. That is so sweet.

  27. I think you better put a GPS tracker on him. Next time I bet he meets them halfway.

  28. Two things: the first thing I thought when I saw the top picture of Alex is that he’s looking like a big kid. What happened to the baby??? They grow up too fast.

And second, I am knee-deep in covetousness over your beautiful yard! Gorgeous!! :)

  29. What a great series of pictures. He was obviously VERY excited!

  30. Well, you can tell I live in the north because I’m the only one who looked at the pictures and thought, “I’d hate that driveway in the winter… the ice, the snow… poor Boo!” Howard is adorable though.

  31. so funny mine does the same thing!!

  32. Seriously, that yard is amazing!!! Love the driveway!

  33. Does this mean BooMama’s Bed & Breakfast is open to the public now?

  34. I’m laughing at all the driveway comments! It really is beautiful! Hope your time with your family is blessed!

  35. I am a grandmother of 5 and I truly hope they feel the same way about me as your little one does about his! That is so precious! By the way, you have a beautiful front yard and driveway!
    Blessings!
    Beth

  36. (I’m trying to “fix” my website address on your blog since I must have put it in wrong. It should be beth-thomas@blogspot.com)
    Thanks!
    Beth

  37. Kathleen says:

This is really in reference to your Birthday post. Happy Bday! I used to think 40 was my absolute cut off age for having another baby (my 2nd was born at 38). I was VERY surprised when I became pregnant again & delivered at 44! (he couldn’t come another 9 days early BEFORE my Bday!) So theres still time that’s all I’m sayin’

  38. Wow. I’m glad I came back. Kathleen’s comment made ME feel better and hopeful-er! :)

  39. All I know is I love your yard and those beautiful big trees! Ahh, the shade looks so inviting on this stinkin’ hot day…sigh.
    Your boy is a DOLL.

  40. Okay, this is random…

I wondered when we needed to read the Leif Enger book by? I just got it at the library…but had a few more to read as well.

Also I looked at your reading list…if you haven’t read Thr3e by Ted Dekker, read it before House. I think you will like it very much! Both are edgy and a bit strange, but Thr3e is the better of the two.

Have a wonderful and restful day!

  41. Alex is cute…but that yard!! Wow, beautiful!!! I would love to sit on your front porch all day. Yep, I think he’s ready for them to get there.

  42. I hope they got there before dark!!!!

  43. How precious!

and that yard!!! oh my! gorgeous

    blessings,
    karla

  44. Next podcast topic… Dream Driveways and how to get over Driveway Envy.

  45. Great pictures. Thanks for sharing the raw excitement! I agree with MollyCoddled. My first thought of the driveway was “I’d hate to shovel that thing in the winter.” But I guess if that isn’t an issue, it would be great that your 50 closest friends could park in the driveway and not the street when you have a party!

  46. My entire house, yard, AND driveway would fit in YOUR driveway! I’m not kidding! LOL

  47. Sigh… sitting on that porch on a just-cooling-off in the fall day with an icy drink… admiring the pumpkin topiaries and the view of the gorgeous yard and warning Howard not to tire himself on the mile-long driveway.

No. Not green. Not me. =)

  48. hee hee I have to had to your comments now that I have read them! So, if THATS your driveway?? What does your HOUSE look like?? My boys get just as excited for their grandparents to come! And I love it! Its so sweet :)

  49. I too was admiring your driveway, but wasn’t going to say anything until I read the next post and saw that everyone else thought it was cool too. Actually, I liked the whole package of the yard, driveway, woods, etc., but the driveway is center stage! :) Glad I’m not the only one that noticed. Don’t feel so weird now!

  50. Oh my goodness – the scenery out your front door is fabulous. But I love the little man running in anticipation. Brings back a ton of memories!

  51. Seriously — that is so precious it isn’t even funny!!! Grandparents hold such a special place in their tiny little hearts, don’t they!? It’s sort of like Christmas each and every time they come over.

    How adorable!

  52. If a picture tells a thousand words, you got about 9000 here! He must love those Grandparents. :)

  53. I am reminded just how flat Texas really is……..make me the 101st person who loves. the. driveway!!!! And Howard is THE MAN!! precious!

  54. Very neat pics! I love your driveway too. It reminds me a bit of the driveway we drove down to get to the manor house where we were spending our wedding night in Ireland. :)

  55. Awww…now thats just adorable! :0)

OK I LOVE that driveway too however, all I could think was HOLY COW! That would cost me a fortune in salt just so I could get outta there in the winter! LOL

    Trina

  56. The most tender, precious pictures ever. What lucky grandparents!

  57. So now I know why the allergy thing is such an issue… and I too thought of your driveway in respect to the snow – which you don’t really have there – you may have to get a plowing contract if it were up here but it would make a heck of a toboggan run. I could see little Howard all bundled up from head to toe trudging up that driveway dragging a sled in hand…but, oh, the pictures coming back down!

  58. Whoa. Is that your driveway???
