His Word My Hope Secures

“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
– Hebrews 12:2

  1. I saw this movie on the weekend! It was great.

  2. I can’t believe I was the first to comment :)

  3. Rocks in my Dryer says:

That was absolutely beautiful. Though I have to admit it was hard to sit and enjoy it, watching a perfectly good piano get rained on.

  4. Tammy H says:

    Amazing Grace indeed! Happy Easter!

  5. Love that song! If you haven’t done the “7 songs I’m listening to” meme, I tag you. :)

  6. Judy S. says:

What a beautiful way to start the day. Thank you! That is my favorite song. I love that version of it. I sung the hymn to my babies and now that they are 17 and 20, they sing it with such passion. It always brings tears to my eyes to watch them. Thank you again.

  7. Saw the movie this past weekend, AWESOME! And I love that version of the song.

  8. Thank you. I needed that.

I haven’t been able to focus on the meaning of this week.

    You helped.

    Thank you.

  9. I can’t wait to see this, not only for the film and the story itself, but I have been a fan of Ioan Gruffudd since he was on A&E’s Horatio Hornblower years ago. I liked him okay in 102 Dalmations and Fantastic Four, but from what I have seen of the trailers, this is something he can really he can really sink his acting chops into.

  10. Love the song – loved the movie even more! It is one of the best I have ever seen – truly uplifting and inspirational. If you haven’t seen it – go, go, go…

    Thanks for sharing!

  11. Incredible film, truly Oscar worthy. We saw it in it’s first weekend and I’m eager for the DVD release. This one is not to be missed.

  12. FABULOUS!

  13. Amen and Amen…

(Although I’m with Shannon–I have such a hard time watching music videos in which beautiful pianos are ruined. )

  14. Thank you Boomama **sniff**…I needed that today.

  15. That movie was a good one, although I had about the worst cold ever and was trying to not sneeze and cough at the people sitting around me in the packed theater. Love that song, thanks for putting it out there for us to see this morning.

  16. Great video! Thanks for sharing it with us :)

You’ve been nominated for the thinking blogs award- Thank you for making me smile on a continual basis :)

  17. Okay, frustrated!!!! I couldn’t sit thru the video as my computer kept freezing and it was just a choppy mess. What movie is this?? Everyone else here seems to know! From what I was able to see, it seemed to involve white slave owners, so I’m not sure how that relates to Amazing Grace, save for the metaphors of being enslaved by sin…what am I missing? Do tell!

  18. Bobby (Daddy) says:

John Newton, former slave trader, wrote Amazing Grace after surrendering his life to the will of God.

  19. Yes, Daddy’s right – and there’s also a movie called Amazing Grace – you can see all about it here: http://www.amazinggracemovie.com/the_film.php

  20. Wow! Don’t I feel dumb! Thanks so much, I’ll be seeing this movie!

  21. I’m glad someone asked and another answered. I didn’t know about the movie either. So few movies are made about Christians. I’ll definitely have to see it.

  22. “Unending Love, Amazing Grace” Praise the Lord! Love this song! I have been listening to it for the last several weeks. Thanks for the video link, it was a real blessing.

  23. Thank you for the words of encouragement! How can we ever thank our Lord enough for His amazing grace. By the way, the 18th Century clip is from the movie “Amazing Grace”. It is a wonderful movie. We plan to buy it when it comes out of DVD.

  24. I love when you post the videos on your website. This one was wonderful. I still have the crabb family one bookmarked to go back and watch occasionally. :)

    Love, Steph

  25. Great video! Thanks for posting it!
What a great week for us all–just to know our passover lamb was getting ready to die for our sins, and He rose VICTORIOUS so we could be free from our chains.

  26. Mom of family4Him says:

I saw this post this morning before I left for work, but did not have time to leave a comment at that time. Several people have commented since then saying, “Thanks. I needed that.” I must echo that sentiment. I got online this morning before work to e-mail a friend asking to her to pray for me today because for some reason or another I felt I had a heavy spirit. This video changed my heart and my outlook for the day. Thanks BooMama! I am back to hear/see it again!

  27. wow … I … wow …

  28. I hadn’t heard of this movie yet. The first few comments I was like, “what movie…WHAT MOVIE!?!?” Thanks for the title…a must see I think.

  29. AMEN!

  30. Beautiful ! I just heard about the movie today. It’s not playing in our theater, so I will have to wait til it comes out on DVD. Thanks for sharing this. :o)

  31. Gosh I feel like a heel. JennaG at Joyful Journey mentioned you today as The Queen Mother of Blogging and I felt like such a left-behind nerd not knowing who she was talking about. And I felt like an even left-behinder nerd for getting here and realizing that I’d never been to your blog and I’ve been blogging for over a year now.

I LOVE the design of your blog and I have a feeling me-likey your blogging style too. :^D

Nice to “meet” the Queen Mother herself!

  32. The movie was great! If we today would only have that conviction Wilberforce had – to never give up on something we know is wrong. This is the most awesome version of this song!!!
