The Big Boo Cast, Episode 304

The football horizon is a bit brighter this week for Melanie and her Aggies, and even though that was not the case for my Bulldogs and me (congrats, LSU), Mel and I talk about some weekend events that brought us all manner of joy. We also unexpectedly shifted into a conversation about which SEC fans are mostly likely to slide into our DMs after a win (and which ones rarely say anything), so if you feel like we have stepped on your toes a little bit, please know that we love you all.

We both share some Side Eyes, I have an exciting TV update (well, it was exciting for me personally, but I doubt anyone else really cares), and it’s my turn for Five Favorites.

Enjoy, y’all!

The Big Boo Cast, Episode 303

The football sun didn’t shine on A&M this past weekend, so in this episode Melanie and I spend some time processing and working through the Aggies’ loss to Appalachian State. We also talk about a few other upsets from this past weekend and offer some Side Eyes and I See Yous – all in an effort to distract Melanie from her pain, of course.

David and I got to spend some time with Alex this past Friday night, so we break that down with some Serious Empty Nest Philosophizing (TM), and it’s Mel’s turn for Five Favorites.

Hope y’all enjoy!

The Big Boo Cast, Episode 302

It’s probably not a surprise to anyone, but after the first big weekend of college football, this episode is A Lot of Sports. This is also what we like to refer to as our happy place. And while our sound wouldn’t pick up Melanie’s little noisemaker for some reason, we did not let that deter us from our first round of Side Eyes and I See Yous for this new season. We won’t always talk about football quite this much, but it seemed right and fitting for the first big game weekend.

We also discuss our recent closet clean-outs, our Empty Nest Feelings, and our desperation to have actual conversations with our children. Plus it’s my turn for Five Favorites.

Well, Alex lives at college now, and on this episode Melanie and I talk all about the move-in process and the fact that we’re both empty nesters now. Plus, Melanie tells us how the past showed up in her present this past weekend (AS IT WILL DO), and I share about a text thread that overtook my life this past Saturday night.

We also discuss a Netflix documentary that we both loved, and it’s Melanie’s turn for Five Favorites.

Enjoy, y’all!

Well, it’s our 300th episode – and our 15th podcast-i-versary – and Melanie and I are thrilled about both of these things. WHO WOULD HAVE EVER THOUGHT. So, as you can imagine, we do a little reminiscing on this episode, but we also do a lot of talking about the here and now. That is because this is the week that Alex moves to college, and we have a lot to break down about that.

As always we recap our weekends, and it’s my turn for Five Favorites.

This week Melanie and I kick off the episode with a recap of My Weekend with Martha (maybe that should be trademarked), which was super fun (you can imagine! can’t you just imagine?!), and we talk about this new season of life where our kids aren’t around very much – which sort of makes us feel like we’re dating the people we’ve been married to for 25 years.

Also, Melanie fills us in on a movie she loved, we both have rave reviews for a TV show we adore, and we break down the AP college football poll that came out this week (spoiler alert: Melanie continues to give Notre Dame the side-eye). As always, we wrap up with Five Favorites – it’s Melanie’s turn this week!

And just a reminder: next week is our 300th episode and our 15th podcast-i-versary. We have some fun giveaways planned – because we want to be sure to celebrate the milestones!

Hope y’all enjoy episode 299!
