Since the four Tylenol Allergy Sinus pills I’ve taken over the course of the day have done nothing to diminish the pulsing vise of pain and pressure on the left side of my face, I would like to receive some combination of the following unconventional, yet undoubtedly effective, treatments:
1. drilling a hole in the left side of my nose
2. smashing a rock into my left eye socket
3. slicing off the left side of my nose
4. puncturing openings underneath my left eye with an anvil
5. removing my left eye altogther
I feel that any of these options are desirable in that they would enable me to relieve All The Pressure.
OH! One more option: ripping my sinuses from my nasal cavity.
Any volunteers?

ALERT! This will probably not be interesting to anybody else but Boomama, so you may want to scroll down:
We’ve had 60 degree weather this week and a forecast for snow this weekend, so I can dig…and when I booked Donnie, the world’s greatest massage therapist, for an appointment yesterday, I asked him to bring along either a hypodermic needle or a drill. You see, I needed the evil spirits to have a way to exit my head. Donnie “forgot” the needle/drill, but worked his magic on my head, neck and shoulders. I followed the massage with large amounts of water (to get rid of the toxins) and saline nose spray (to reduce the swelling in my nasal passages). When I got home, I ate some soup and got in my beloved bed.
This morning, I am MUCH better, although the back of my neck feels bruised (Donnie: “Is that too much pressure?” Me: NO! NO! MORE! MORE!”).
I stopped taking the Tylenol Allergy Sinus a couple of years ago (except in extreme cases) because it’s really not good for you (elevates blood pressure, etc.). Plus, Tennessee passed a law that you can’t buy any of those products unless you purchase them from the pharmacist, so the hassle factor plays a part, too.
Zicam has a Sinus Remedy (homeopathic). I haven’t tried it, but I do use their Cold Remedy. Moist heat (those microwaveable Buckys are great) on the back of my neck does the job many times for me. If the cavities are swollen, use ice or cold packs on your face. And, the saline spray is a great healer, as is eucalyptus and/or lavender oil in a container of boiling water. Also, there are pressure points at the base of your skull (those 2 indentions on the left/right where your head and neck join)that relieve pressure/help with drainage.
Granted, you have far more sinus trouble that I do (I hear that you can thank B’ham for that), but the above seems to help me.
Hope you feel better…and put down the drill, rock, knife and anvil. If you used them, we’d have to call you “OOOH!MAMA!”

Last night I got my Bath and Body Works eucalyptus / spearmint crystals and stuck the jar up under my nose for about 15 minutes. That helped. Then, in the shower this AM, I rubbed tea tree oil under my eyes and nose and let that steam work its magic. It’s a little better. I just took Advil this AM for the headache part…b/c I figured if the 4 Tylenol A & S didn’t do the trick yesterday, there was no point taking them today.
I wish whatever this weather “front” is would kindly make its way out of central Alabama so that I could get some relief.

Comments on this post got wiped out because Blogger has deleted this particular post about four times in the last twelve hours (no idea why), so I copied and pasted the comments from my HaloScan account, then reposted.
I’m sure everyone’s lives will be all the richer from reading all this detail about my sinus pain.
