Alex and his daddy have gone downstairs to watch “Gideon,” the new Veggie Tales movie.
They’ve been down there about 25 minutes.
So why in the sam hill am I still watching “The Wiggles”?

Because “The Wiggles” is riveting television, I tell you. RIVETING.
Because secretly, you sing “D, O, R, O, T-H-Y,” and think, hey, pretty catchy.
LOL I think that all the time when the girls get out of the car and I realize about 20 minutes later that I’m still listening to their CD
Secret confession: I will watch Backyardigans or Lazytown when the kids aren’t even around. It’s a sickness, I’m pretty sure.
We’re watching Wiggly Wiggly Christmas right now. I’m sure this will be the ‘movie of choice’ until the 25th! But hey I’ll take the Wiggles over many of others ANY DAY!
Because you are savoring the solitude and you’ve successfully learned to tune out children’s programming. That and you have no idea where the remote is.
I ask myself the same thing when I’m in the car…alone…singing along to Veggie Tales songs. LOL!
Everyone else can tell you things that’ll make you feel better. But I’m gonna level with you: you’re cracked, BooMama. Cracked.
Lol. I agree with Everyday Mommy cause I find that happening to myself. I’m pretty good at tuning out Thomas the Tank Engine and Clifford the Big Red Dog.
Because deep down you really LIKE them… we know you dance and sing along. Consider yourself in line for an intervention. (Funny thing is that my just yesterday I took at blogthings quiz and thought of The Wiggles when I got the results.)
OH, BooMAMA! Do you think they have taken over our minds with a tiny Australian microchip!!???
Oh, I do that all the time. :)
Although, I would prefer to be watching Veggie Tales! Love them!!!
Angee
For the very same reason that I laid on my bed and watched the Wonder Pets today.
Because if you’re like me…you secretly love Anthony!
Those Wiggles can be mesmerizing! Don’t feel too bad, I am sure you are getting yourself a very good lesson in music appreciation (of the juvenile sort, of course) and feathersword tickling!
Kristi
All these answers are making me laugh out loud. but not because I myself have found myself doing this. Oh no.
It could be worse for your BooMama, he could have left you with Barney on.
Well, are you dancing along? ‘Cause if you were dancing along then it would be okay, that would be a workout! But if you are just sitting then, hmmmmm, I will have to go with the first commenter…absolutely riveting!!!! (or you have a secret crush on Anthony! its okay, my choir director looks like Greg!)
By the way, I absolutely love your blog! It brings a bright smile to my days.
For the same reason I can sing every word to the entire Dragon Tales cd. . .every. single. word.
So … at what age do children develop a fondness for these “Wiggles” aliens?
Coulda been worse. It could have been teletubbies or boobahs. At least they were humans.
4 guys in tight black polyester pants. It’s a flashback. Set to groovy music.
It’s just like when the early afternoon programming is over at my house. Dora the Explorer comes on, me and both my siblings(I’m 20, sister is 17, brother is 14) sing with the theme song and sometimes don’t even bother to change the channel. We don’t really watch it, but I’m sure we’ve all seen it before. How else would we know the theme song word for word?
because who else could put “hordiculturist” and “botonist” into a song and make it catchy?
I find myself leaving “Favorite Children’s Song” from Baby Einstein on for my little one, and it just doesn’t faze me anymore until hubby says, “If I hear ‘Wheels on the Bus’ one more time, I will go insane!”. It just becomes part of our regular background noise.
Oh my that’s easy! You just don’t want to miss their invitation to jump in the big red car and ride the whole day long!
