Several of you have emailed me and asked about my sweet friend Elise and her boys, so I thought you might want to read this article about their family.
It’s a great reminder that even in the midst of tragedy, there are some gifts that keep on giving.
Love you, E.
And Merry Christmas, everybody.
BooMama, Thank you for not only sharing your southern charm and wit with us on a daily basis, but also your stories. This was an incredible article. Thank you and Merry Christmas.
Thank you for sharing this…I have often wondered about Elise and how the family was doing. I did not realize his cause of death….we just never know what tomorrow will bring. I will pray for them!

Thanks for sharing this marvelous story. Focusing on the Future. Impact. Grace.
THank you for sharing that with us. I hope Elise and the boys had a Christmas filled with love.
I am crying sweet tears… What an incredible legacy Paul left for those boys. Prayers for Elise tonight.
I haven’t read my Jackson paper yet today but am so glad to see this, I’ve wondered how this family was doing…I know a few people in the Greenville area that know his family but had not heard updates. What an incredible story. Am sending prayers for them this week.
Thanks for sharing this story.
Hope your Christmas was lovely..
Mary, mom to many
God bless Elise and her boys. With God’s and her friends’ and familys’ help, they can go on. As long as we cherish our loved one’s memories in our hearts, they are never truly gone.
I’ve been wondering about them, BooMama, thanks for the update. :-)
I’m sitting here with tears in my eyes. Thank you for sharing that with us. It was a beautiful tribute to Paul.
What an amazing article. Thank you for sharing that.
What a terrific article about an amazing couple. I share Paul’s opinion about organ donation. I challenge everyone to make sure their driver’s license indicates being a donor AND let your family members know your wishes. Both are necessary for it to happen. I wish I had know Paul; I can see how blessed all who knew him were.
Thank you so much for sharing that article. What a beautiful tribute to Paul.
Boomama,
I have read your blog for quite some time now and had wondered from time to time about Elise and her boys and how they are doing. Thank you for the update. I can see why they are such wonderful friends to you. Elise seems so strong and graceful. My niece recently recieved a triple organ transplant so I can attest to the indescrbable gratitude fromt the recipient’s end. I will keep them in my prayers.
Truly amazing. You are blessed to have such wonderful friends.
Thank you so much for letting all of us know how this sweet family is doing. What an AMAZING story and gift he (and Elise) gave. A good friend’s son just received a new liver. He is 20-years-old and has a new life to look forward to thanks to someone like Paul. God Bless Elise and her boys.
I’ve almost emailed you several times this month to ask about Elise–I kept forgetting to email, but I didn’t forget to pray for her.
What an amazing family–and what a blessing that you got to call him “friend.”
That is indeed awesome, and amazing!! Thanks for sharing. It brings new meaning to Happy New Year!!! So many will have a happy new year because of his giving spirit!! Cool!
I just read the post and the Article from July and my Condolences to the family. I pray that God mercy and Grace is upon them and I Pray that they had a Wonderful Christmas during this trying time. Oh I am so sad to hear about this. God Bless You All.
Thanks for the update and post. Very moving.
What a great article. After my dad died, the only donate-able organ he had (thanks to the months of radiation and chemotherapy) were his corneas. My mother received a letter from the donation center a month or so later, telling her that someone had received them, and could now see as a result. The thought that my father could, in his death, give someone the gift of life, made me not only sign the back of my driver’s license the second I got it when I turned 16, but encourage others to as well. That was a great, great article.
That was an awesome article about the family and Paul’s organ donations- The pic of Paul was great too- That is exactly the way I remember him- Always with a big smile on his face-I am so happy that Elise is doing well- I don’t think that I would be able to “hold it all together” like she has if I were in her shoes-
What a beautiful article. Paul obviously had so many fruits of the spirit – and his unselfish act shows that.
Praying the family continues to be wrapped in God’s love and comfort.
I am also deeply moved. I liked your friend from the moment that you said her name — my middle name is Elise.
She’ll be in my prayers.
I’m including this in my Thursday13 tomorrow because it’s so important.

Elise and the family are in my prayers! Thank you for sharing.
Love your blog!
It’s amazing what a profound effect what we do here on earth has for many years to come. God bless this sweet family.
Beautiful article.
I’m sure this was a rough Christmas for Elise but I knew after reading this article that her strength is getting her through. She must be so proud of him. How wonderful to meet so many people who received the gift of life from Paul.
This makes me realize how important the little red heart on my driver’s license really is.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful article with us.
I remember your orginal posts about Elise. Thanks for providing this touching follow-up. Have a blessed New Year!
Merry Christmas
