Hello how are you we’re exhausted.
Here’s a quick Disney Day One wrap-up:
1) As it turns out, I have a child who loves rollercoasters.
2) Said child rode Space Mountain. And ADORED EVERY SECOND.
3) Todd and I rode Space Mountain together and screamed like schoolgirls. At one point I discovered that I was clapping out of sheer glee.
4) A disturbing portion of female park patrons were not wearing proper undergarments in the chest area. And by that I mean there were many women who went with the no-bra option this morning despite the fact that support – yay, even underwire – was deperately needed.
As someone who has not left the house without the aid of underwire since I was fourteen, I could not relate.
5) I have never been this tired.
6) I don’t even care how tired I am because of the sheer joy I saw on Alex’s face all day long. D. and I couldn’t quit grinning at him and then at each other. Such a sweet time.
7) Everybody needs a Todd when they go to a theme park. He took care of all the fast passes for us, knew exactly where we needed to go, and as a result we never waited in line more than 20 minutes. He also laughed so hard at supper that he spit out his water, and that is but one reason why we love him.
8) Just an observation: if what we saw today is any indication, there are lots of pre-teen and teenage girls who aren’t wearing nearly enough clothes.
9) You would not believe the number of people we saw text messaging while riding rollercoasters. PUT AWAY THE PHONES, PEOPLE. PUT AWAY THE PHONES.
10) The Kavu bag and Geox sandals were an excellent combination.
11) And the Disney stroller that we rented? Absolutely the best $10 we’ve ever spent. Worth every single penny – and then some.
See y’all tomorrow!
Oh, I’m so happy y’all had a good time!
I’m with you on the need for supportive undergarments and the girls and women needing more clothing. Soooo with you.
I love roller coasters! I’m glad Alex loved it and wasn’t scared.
Have a good weekend, BooMama.
Love and hugs,
Diane
It sounds great! Enjoy every minute. Do we get to see some photos???
SOOO glad ya’ll are having a great time!!! And I just read the previous post, too. The thought of the 3 of you walking through the airport made me tear up for some reason. Precious!
Isn’t people watching at an amusement park the best!!! Say hey to the Big Mouse from all of your friends in the blog world.
Sounds absolutely wonderful! We took Camden to Disney when he was 4 and I really think that right around there is a perfect, magical age for them to go. And yes, pictures would be wonderful!
Yippie about the stroller and the roller coasters!! Yes, the phones and the clothes…some of them leave nothing to the imagination.
What a great vacation! It seems like it was just yesterday that we were there – oh wait, it was just 6 months ago. We love Disneyland and go as often as we can. Our youngest was just a year old at the time and in my sling, he was eye level to the displays of ample chest. I bet he was always wondering if it was lunch time yet. ;)
I remember a trip through Home Depot where I wanted to yell to just about every young girl we passed, “SHUT UP AND GET DRESSED!”
But I didn’t.
Meanwhile, my 3 year old blithely points out all the women who “took their shirts off” in any store we enter.
I remember a trip to Six Flags over Texas in high school The amount of incredible large unattractive men and women in very, very little clothing was frightening. When we all got back to the bus one of the guys said, “Man! Was it ugly day today!?” And he was so right. I promise you there were women who weighed 300 lbs and were wearing nothing more than a bikini top and cut-off Daisy Dukes.
My three yr olds call them “booties”. Not sure where they came up with that, but I’ve never been more proud than the day they exclaimed very loudly “Mama, she is showing her booties! Bleh!” while we were eating at Wendy’s.
The mention of clothing (or lack thereof) brings to mind Proverbs 5:15-19 The mention of rollercoasters reminds me of courting my wife (we actually rode a rollercoaster, so you can put the Proverbs passage out of your mind now.)
I always look for someone with little clothing on while I’m nursing. That way if someone makes a rude comment about me feeding my child I can point out that they’re looking at less flesh on me than on those who aren’t wearing enough clothing!
Edit that last comment to “when I’m nursing in public”
I am so glad you are having such a blast. Hope the rest of your stay goes as well.
I just love days like this!
Pics of this day should be next to the word joy in the dictionary.
{BTW–I am so un-hip–I had to google geox and Kavu.}
YES! YES! YES! Disney is wonderful, isn’t it? I’m a complete Disney park NUT and I love it when I hear another family enjoying it!
Sounds like a good time!! I can’t wait to take my two little ones.
I took my son to Six Flags a couple weeks ago and was SHOCKED by the clothes that all the girls from an EIGHTH grade field trip were wearing. They may as well have not worn any shorts!
Your makin’ memories! So glad you’re loving mouseland!

I am glad you guys are having a wonderful time! Sweet!
As a youth minister’s wife, I am very aware of the lack of clothing on the younguns. So many of them have such a deaf ear to it too. I even have a mother to one of our youth who told me she can’t say anything to her daughter, because her daughter actually wears more clothes than she does! Sad. We are supposed to be helping our young ladies learn something about modesty. I guess those of us concerned about it are outnumbered by those who aren’t because SOMEBODY is shelling out the $ for these itty bitty clothes!
All I have to say is, like Auntie, like Nephew. Our (rollercoaster lovin’) genes are strong. :)
xo
Makes you wonder about the mothers of these young teenagers. Why do they allow them to wear so few clothes? I guess I’m really showing my age. What did you say that caused Todd to spew the water out of his mouth? BTW, I did that at lunch one day to a division manger with Coke. :-) It was all his fault! PHOTOS! Yes, PHOTOS! Have more fun!
As I said before welcome to California, where anything goes (my home, but do not own a cell phone & wears a bra in public 99% of the time), land of cell phones, text messaging, bra-less women & improperly dressed teens.
Continue to have a fun trip!
So glad you’re having fun! And smiling! What if they dropped their phones on the rollercoaster? Continue to have so much fun, just so much fun, SO MUCH FUN YA’LL!!
Love,
holly
So glad you’re having fun. A magical trip to see The Mouse is a highlight of familial life. We took our five-year-old daughter and three-year-old son there in January, and my husband and I shared a lot of those adoring looks. A great time was had by all.
I used to visit The Park all the time before I had kids, because we lived nearby and I had free passes. Never had as much fun then. Kids make it enchanting.
Can I say it for the 100th time? I’m so jealous!
Yes, and so glad you’re having fun!
Souinds like y’all are having a great time. That’s cool that you’re starting the boy early on roller coasters!
Agree totally on the bra-less, little clothing on young gals, or any age gals for that matter. I just don’t get it.
Oh, how they must not understand the mind of many men, and those not yet men, in our society!
Glad you are having such a great trip!
About the phones–there are some good uses in mouseland. Our son called us to show us the kids having fun–or describe the ride they were getting on. I could go to the website to see where they were. He didn’t do this but once or twice a day and NEVER while on a ride. But, it was great to enjoy their glee while it was happening.
The phones remind me of people who sit in the movie theatre and text message one another. Grrr – if you don’t want to watch the movie, please leave..
and amen to the bra-less, clothes-less people.
Glad you’re having fun!
I truly wish I liked roller coasters, but alas the swingset makes me want to throw up anymore.
Glad you’re having fun!
so glad ya’ll are having fun! The parks are my absolute favorite…well, next to laying motionless on the beach for hours!
My dad retired from Disney, so I spent my growin’ up at the House of Mouse. I LOVE IT!! I’m so glad you guys had a great time.
As far as the lack of clothing? Come to my town … where it’s common practice to wear string bikinis to shop at the WalMart and eat out at restaurants. Dis-gust-ing.
J has gotten more of an anatomy lesson since we moved here than ever needed.
I truly believe that one should have to obtain a permit to be able to wear a bikini top. It is always amazing to me to see how confident people can be in….well, wearing nothing.
Glad you are having fun!!
When I had the team over for a spend-the-night party, they were texting until 4 am. Who???!!! Everyone shoulda been asleep, unless they were at my house!! It’s amazing how the cell phone is mysteriously joined to them at the fingers. And how they text so fast!
And clothes are totally another subject!
Eventually, women will be walking around in public with saran wrap and chaps. Or just a belt.
Glad you are having fun with all of the proper garments!
Why don’t you just give those girls a pair of your jammies to cover up in?? We KNOW you brought enough pairs to share….:):):)
Enjoy!!
I’m with you on undergarments! Tonight the hubby & I went to dinner sans children. I guess I don’t get out much cause I was SHOCKED at the attire of the 20 something! I commented to my hubby, what’s it going to be like when my kids hit that age in about 15 years?! Please girls, cover up! If you really knew what was going through that guys mind you wouldn’t like it!

Yeah!!!! I am so glad you guys are having a blast and making some memories :). Have fun!!
Hey Boo!
Haven’t visited in a really long time…no longer “bloggin’ on the bayou.” I started a blog for the ladies at our church in hopes that it would bring us all closer. It was a slow start…but it’s beginning to come together and I thank the Lord for dropping the idea into my spirit.
I’m so glad you’re having a wonderful time…I love Disney! Isn’t it just the best place to be?
You take care! I’ll try to be more of a regular now that school’s out. :-)
Oh how sad, BooMama. I was sooo hoping you’d have a good time. You poor thing.
I am really feeling distressed about one thing … did you take CUTE Geox sandals???
Ok, now I am singing “Best Day Ever” from Spongebob Squarepants. Thanks.
LOL
Yes, it is very, very nasty how women go braless. YUCK.
