We’re taking a blogging break before we start recording the podcast, and I have to tell you that there’s something very liberating about being with two other people who understand the necessity of a blogging break. In fact, it seems quite fitting that we would all finally be in the same place and spend at least a little bit of our time together TYPING LIKE MAD ON OUR COMPUTERS.
Welcome to the 21st century, ladies and gentlemen.
So now, a few pictures:

Since we were planning to come back to Melanie’s hotel room to record the podcast, we figured we needed a little SUSTENANCE, but unfortunately we failed to remember that the kitchenette does not in fact have an oven.
Which pretty much means that I just ate a spoonful of recently thawed brownie batter.
Because I am a connoisseur of fine food.
And yes, we could run over to my house and stick the brownies in the oven, but SHHHH! there’s a very animated four year-old there, SHHHHH!

I mean, just look at that framing and composition.
It’s all terribly symbolic and meaningful.

Because we are klassy like that.

And look!

I cannot wrap my head around such a thing.
Meanwhile, for the last few minutes Melanie and I have been pursuing some terribly intellectual pastimes of our own:

Because we love knowledge, y’all.
So now we’re all going to quit with the typing and start with the podcasting. I’m sure we’ll be discussing many current events of pressing international importance.
Like, you know, our hair.
See y’all tomorrow.

Can I be the first to say that I love girls who don’t mind eating! First things first! If you all can bond over Mexican food and brownies out of the box, what better friends can you find? Enjoy and see if Tums come with room service!
Okay, I seriously should have called ya’ll tonight. My husband KICKED ME OUT so he could hang with his buddies and I wandered around Kohl’s, disappointed in the the entire discount fashion world. Then I ended up in the bookstore looking at COOKBOOKS, because I don’t know what to do with myself when I’m ALL BY MYSELF any more. I should have known you guys were where the party was at. And then I could have joined you and your frozen brownie dough rather than being miserable with myself and my stale, over-priced bookstore cupcake.
Still, a chocolate cupcake is A CHOCOLATE CUPCAKE. So there’s that anyway.
No pressure on the podcast or anything. It’s only the meeting of the minds of the bloggy Trifecta. No big deal…
:-) Ya’ll have fun!
Frankly, I’d have been sorely disappointed if you HAD run to Sister’s for cooking. Everyone knows batter is better :)
I’m glad you guys are having a blast together! And of course, with great girlfriends, comes great food. It’s a must.
I agree with Kelli, batter is better.
Mmmmmm, sugary treats and awesome net friends. Seriously, could it get any better?
Can’t wait to hear the podcast!
Batter is DEFINITELY better…this coming from the cookie dough and cake batter queen. You guys are too funny. I just ate some cake batter here on your behalf. Um, excuse me while I go try to get rid of the 10 pounds I’ve gained…ugh
Okay, where are Sunni and Janelle? I need to have a slumber party!
It sounds like a good old fashion southern pajama party! I’m not sure where the crossword puzzles fit in, but who am I to tell a Mom how to relax :o) You girls keep having fun and thanks to time change you get an extra hour to recover from a night of fun!
I tell ya, y’all had a slice of heaven this weekend. I bet your stomachs will be sore from all that laughing that has taken place. Ya’ll should have done video and posted so we could see some, read some, listen some. I guess I just really wish I was there! :)
You gonna sleep like a baby when this partys over.
When my girlfriends from high school and I get together in our hometown, at least one of us brings a box of brownie mix. We whip up the mix but never get around to cooking them – ever! Brownie batter and bottomless glasses of Dr. Pepper are all we need for endless hours of chit-chat!
Man, your eyes are gorgeous.
I think it goes without saying, but I’ll go on and specify that I meant “man” as an exclamation. Totally wasn’t calling you a man.
Y’all are the kweens of klassy and sassy!
As to the crossword puzzle, I thought you were going to point out that she had a pen and some kind of paper– rare in this 21st century world.
There is a friend that sticks closer than a brother. It seems as if you have found 2 new ones in the land of the nets. So cool. Can’t wait to actually “hear” all the goodness of this get together. Blessings.
:>) Uncooked batter of any kind has less calories.
Seriously – junk food and college football message boards – why wasn’t I there with ya’ll? That’s my idea of fun! :-)
hello!
being a former birmingham girl (college and post college) and having worked at dreamland bbq, i HAVE to know where you ate your bbq.
because i am partial and all.
OH MY LAND! You have GOT to make her stop doing that crossword! STOP HER! She knows not what she does! Next it will be rubix cubes and then she’ll be reading The Economist and then she’ll NEVER be able to talk in all caps again.
Jamie
Glad you had so much fun….waiting for your next post! Melanie and Shannon both had to fly home and they both posted before you. I can only assume that means you are working furiously on getting the podcast edited and ready for our listening pleasure!
loved the composition of the photo…so whose nose and mouth and blue beads??…isn’t it amazing you met on the internet, i mean really…
Doesn’t everyone do crosswords for fun?! Nerds if you don’t; nerds if you do.
I just love seeing how much you have changed since you started blogging. (like posting your picture and all!) You just keep getting better!
Those are my kind of snacks!
And make no apologies/excuses/whatever for getting together to blog. Guys get together to watch insane amounts of football, why can’t a few klassy gals get together to blog?
Amen to the snacks and can I get a big
Go Hogs Go!!!
Women of discriminating tastes..I like that.
Love Sour Patch Kids!
