Thursday

Today was the little man’s last day of four year-old kindergarten.

I will now pause to sigh deeply. Because of the flying of the time and whathaveyou.

And in light of yesterday’s tragedy, I’m sure many of us have been holding our babies – no matter how old they are – a little closer today. Let’s continue to keep the Chapman family in our prayers.

  1. Wow he looks JUST like you…spittin’ image! Too cute! Yes, bittersweet days…bittersweet.

    Tragic about the Chapmans. :o(

  2. What a handsome little man! Why must they grow up?

  3. So soon, I mean. I know they have to grow up SOMEtime. And wipe their own tushies and whatnot. I just will miss all the cuddling and kisses when my little man gets “too big” for that kind of stuff!

  4. I have tried the brick-on-the-head method. It doesn’t work, sorry to say.

  5. Your little man is adorable. Yes, I’ve been holding my Josiah and Ana Mei tight since last night as much as I can – between tears. We are devastated here in Franklin for the Chapmans.

  6. PS: boo – hoping you get that kmseiden@comcast is the same as Kseiden@lifeway.com!

  7. What a handsome little man. We have been praying for the Chapman’s…what an awful tragedy.

  8. Yep, I can tell he’s yours! :)

  9. Little Howard is a beautiful little boy!
Hug him and kiss him every chance because you can’t believe how fast the next few years will fly by!

  10. Speaking of STRONG GENES….!! ;-)

His face is getting thinner and he’s losing more of that baby fullness every day, Sophie. I’ve watched him change from a baby to a toddler to a little boy right here on ye olde blawg. Where DOES the time go, can you please tell me?!? He’s beautiful…er..I mean, Handsome!

    xoxo

    Diane

  11. What a handsome little guy he is! I’ve seen pictures of him before, but he does look so grown up in this one!

Yes, I’m so sad for the Chapman family. I have been so blessed by Steven’s music over the years and his whole family’s ministry. My heart is grieving for all of them.

  12. What is it with everyone and the end of school being this week?!!! I have never heard of schools getting out before Memorial Day. Ours was always the first week of June and lately it’s been getting later and later… hubs doesn’t get out until June 18th this year. :(

  13. yes, time flies soooo fast! My kids are noe tweens and it seems like they were just babies…

and yes, prayed for the Chapmans.. blogged about it too so that more people can/will be reminded to pray… yes…

  14. He is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooo cute!!!!!!

  15. I can’t believe Reia will be in first grade next year. Where is my baby? Oh wait, she’s tearing my house apart…that would be Reese.

  16. So does he go to 5 year old kindergarten so you dont have to give him completely over for another year? I’d love to have my son back at that age for a bit. He’s a real cutie!

  17. He’s a real cutie – starting to look awfully grown up!

  18. Wow, he is a stud! You definitely have a cutie on your hands :)

I don’t have children yet, but can only imagine the pain the Chapman family is enduring right now. So sad.

  19. Our Tabor finished Pre-K on Wednesday. After reading Melanie’s post, I was so sad and weepy. Your Alex is a handsome boy!!

Praying continually for the Chapman’s. My heart is so broken for them. I keep praying for some kind of miracle from the LORD–turn back time, please.

Praying for you this weekend, Sophie.
    Love,
    holly

  20. Praying for little Maria’s precious family.

Has the little man always looked like your twin?!? (minus the fab highlights and fundana) Wow. Spit-tin im-age.

  21. Can he get any more adorable?? My littlest bebe cut his first two teeth in the past two days and I’m trying not to get choked up about that–the thought of SCHOOL just kinda freaks me out!

From here on the blawg, he looks like the spittin’ image of his mama.

  22. Loving the color choice of his shirt! I love orange on little boys. If you figure out how to get him to sleep later, would you let me know? Because mine is up every day at 5:30 and it’s about to DO. MAMA. IN. xoxo –

  23. He’s so cute!!! They grow up so fast. {sigh}

  24. How stinkin’ cute is he?!?! Time does go so quickly…too quickly!

  25. Thought about them all day. Can’t even imagine.

  26. Your little man is so handsome. TIme does fly.

Praying peace and comfort for the Chapmans. Realizing we are not promised tomorrow and to cherish today.

Having been where the Chapmans are, my heart hurts for them.

  27. Oh how he looks like you! Today is the last day for 2nd grade for mine and in a few months he will be 8. I swear it feels as if the first day of school was yesterday. On a different note.. My heart is still so heavy for the Chapmans. May we all continue to pray for their family.

  28. Those planning on making the BLAWGHER meetup, please go here to introduce yourselves and help give us an idea of how many are coming!

  29. That little boy looks just like his mama. So cute!

  30. I don’t want to stop them from growing up. I just want them to sloooow doooowwn.

Why can’t time move as slow when we are parents as it did when we were in high school and looking forward to summer vacation?

    Sigh.

  31. Wow, he looks just like you! A little mini-me!

And my heart is breaking for the Chapmans, too. I grew up listening to his music and I can’t imagine how something this awful can happen to such a good family. God has a plan, though. Our prayers are with them.

  32. Elizabeth says:

Did you spit him out or what?!

On a sad note, I can barely think about what the Chapmans are going through. Thanks for reminding us to pray for them.

  33. Wow! I have had a lot going on with the death of my father-in-law and illness of my own dad, so haven’t been able to check in as much. I had to take a second and comment. I haven’t seen A’s face in a while (did see the pic of the happenin’ shoes though!! ), anyway, I’m amazed how he looks so much older SOOO fast!! He’s growing up!! It’s what is supposed to happen, but boy we don’t always have to like it!!!

    Still praying….unbelievable.

  34. If I heard right the teenage son is the one who was driving the car??!! will he ever get over it? NO! probably not.
I am hoping against hope that that is a rumor and not the truth.

    Hugs,
    Marie
p.s. I just love Howard! *sigh* why must they grow up

  35. He is JUST PRECIOUS…what more can I say?? Aww, y’all must be so proud! My ‘baby’ turns 5 this July and heads to kindergarten in the fall….*sniff*. What’s a Mama to do?? Yes, I did hear the tragic news about the Chapman family….only God can heal their wounds and give strength in this difficult time.

You have a great weekend!! :D

  36. What a cutie!

  37. Yes, since Thursday morning I have been hanging close to my boys — both big and small. I think we all need reminders to hold our babies a little longer. They grow up sooooo fast!

  38. Oh, he is such a doll!

  39. Congrats to the little man!
