Remember how I scheduled the whole Before and After bloggy carnival for July 25th?
Well, scratch that.
Because yesterday I realized that I’m not going to be in town on July 25th, which means that I won’t be around to check links and fix links and delete silly spammers’ links on the Mr. Linky. And while I could probably find a way to make it all work, I have a fun family thing happening that day, and I really don’t want to disrupt the festivities by saying, “Would y’all mind if I just hopped in this coffee shop for a quick sec so that I can CHECK MY BLOG?” I think it’s just better to change the date.
I do apologize.
I’m thinking that I’ll move the whole thing to Labor Day weekend (calendar permitting, of course), which is a total SCORE for me because I have completed approximately no items on my to-do list. A to-do list extension will be helpful.
And just FYI: I’ll get a new button with the new date posted early next week. Because obviously that old button with the old date is just RURNT, ALL RURNT, COMPLETELY RURNT.
The end.

Sounds good to me!! I’m behind on my project, too, so I completely understand. Family always comes first!
I cracked up at your use of rurnt! It’s always so funny to see words spelled out phonetically that I hear spoken on a regular basis. ;-Þ
Would you pretty please say the word “RURNT” on your next Big/Boo Cast? I want to hear it in your darling southern accent.
You just received a great big thank you from my husband. He wasn’t exactly looking forward to the work I was going to put him through this weekend. Little does he know that this extension just means that I’m adding one more project.
shhsh… our little secret!
Aren’t you going to Deeper Still Vegas? Won’t you be too spiritually hung over from that event to be all organized about the Before and After on Labor Day? That’s probably just people like me, so nevermind.
Works for me! Because I’m honestly nothing if not a procrastinator, so putting this off for another time sounds like a plan.
Plus, I have more time to decide what I want to do.
Oh the slacker in me loves this idea – yipeee!!!
that works better for me too – yehey! :)
well, shucks. i actually have mine done b/c we had an event here that spurred me on. i’ll wait for show and tell though.
also, i’m so thankful to now have the correct spelling for ruined…at least the way my mother-in-law says it!
did you know “borned” was a word too?
BooMama, those are some real priorities! Thanks for sharing with us all a lesson we can learn. :) You have fun and enjoy putting first things first.
I love it that you said, “Rurnt”! I am a southern girl and my husband is from the midwest. I like to throw deformed words at him. If not for phonics in the first grade I would still think that a “winder” (short i), is something to gaze out of while sitting in the “liberry” (think books).
Yeay – I might actually join in now!!!!!
Oh, um, yeah, an extension would be good. My completion level isn’t so high either!
So funny…I always ask my husband how you spell that and now I know…RURNT
Again. Rurnt. LOL.
I am calling my friend who I make fun of for saying Rurnt right now to read this post.
Because I want her to know she’s not alone.
Okay, then I’m in. My goal is to have my garage emptied via garage sale, charity donation, trash dumpster – WHATEVER – and the storage unit with its five stinkin’ boxes and dresser closed out by Labor Day!
(It’s pathetic… I don’t even have room for those few sparse items so I pay $65 per month to store them somewhere else. Good gravy, Mabel. “That is reee-dic-ulous!” [quote from my 5 year old neice, Eva].)
I will take some pictures because it is a nightmare – a grotesque and monstrous waste of space and useless life accumulation that is better left in someone else’s care since we’ve squeezed just about every last drop of use from those items as we can.
I’m learning to let go – one garage at a time! Seriously, Ya’ll! I have enough furniture in my garage to furnish a small apartment… No LIE! We cannot even get to our stand up freezer and if we need the electric breaker box – well, we have to clim Mt. Junkpile to get to the darn thing! Good Glory! How did all this happen? De-clutter, simplify and breathe… all in due time.
Where are those “Clean House” people when you need ’em? If you run into Neecy(Sp?), Mark, Tracy or [that handy guy with the drill and tool belt] would you send them my way! HELP!
LOL!!
Sure, that sounds great to me. I was getting worried that I wouldn’t be ready by the end of July, but it will be done by Labor Day.
Have fun with your family! Great priorities!
Oh, this lets the pressure off a little. It sounds great to me!!!
Oh Hallelujah! I’m so happy you’re moving the date cuz our basement is no where near anything yet! Yippee see you labor day ish!
SOMEONE ELSE WHO SAYS RURNT!!!
thank you, sweet heavens.
In college some guy friends of mine were surveying their freezer/fridge for supper items to grill. Chris–a country boy–said, “That meat is rurnt.” Mike–a city boy–misunderstood and said, “Burnt? Burnt? How can it be burnt? It just came out of the freezer!”
Chris looked him right in the eye and said, “Not BURNT. RURNT!”
I will never forget that conversation.
Oh, this new date is much better! I have a “surprise” project in mind that I’ll do while my husband and the small boy are away on vacation.
Whoohoo! That give me more time! {smile}
Well THANK GOODNESS is all that comes to mind. It gives me time to make up for all my procrastinating. (Well, not the packing bit… that I’m doing, but only because there’s a deadline. If it weren’t for the whole “hey, you gotta get out now” deal, I might find a way to put it off too.)
Bless your heart. I was wondering how I might get it done. I think I’m going to pretend in my own little head that the deadline is still July 25th for me to get my home office redecorate/organize project done. That includes a closet AND desk drawers, mind you. Then I’ll have until Labor Day to pretty it up and arrange memoriablia and hang pictures and whatnot. Yay!
Thank goodness I’m not the only one with passive-aggressive perfectionism issues.
Yeah! It gives me more time to pull those dreaded weeds!
BooMama, I just want you to know that you are an inspiration, a fried chicken inspiration.
Your love for fried chicken reached across bloggy land and touched me. I hate to admit that I was not a big fan before and I had never made it. I know, the horror!
Anyway, I tried it and we LOVE it! Thank you! Thank you ! Thank you! I don’t know what your recipe is but we used this one:
http://kristi-kikiscorner.blogspot.com/2008/07/im-thankful-for.html
Thanks for moving it! I was waay behind and need the extra time!! Will there be a new button?
Ooooo. I wanna participate!
whew! I was just stressing about how we have NOTHING completed. And not even a paint color picked out! This will be great. Though, we’re having an open house on the 20th, so I really REALLY want the rooms painted before then!
Cool – I think I’ll hop in with my redesign of daughter’s room. She is entering 5th grade so the baby blue butterfly room is getting changed to a very sassy retro-print pottery barnish design!
Well, this is fantastic news for me. Since the only part of my Before & After that I’ve accomplished is the part I made my husband do…I mean, the part I lovingly asked him to do. My tasks? Not. even. started. So a little postponement is perfect.
Oooooh goody goody! My thing to tackle is paperwork messes. I recently took all the “before” photos and man does it ever look worse in a photo. There are 7 photos of jumbled paper heaps. Eeek!
It will be wonderful to have more time to tackle it all. Hope you have a lovely fun day on the 25th.
Take Care,
Trixie
Oh, the procrastinator in me LOVES you.
OH GOOD!! I was stressing that I had not yet begun to order new spice jars (really…I know, I am pitiful). And the 25th is like in 15 days!
And I’m sinking under the cookbook deadline–oooh and a reminder for a couple recipes from you!
Thank you, dear one. Labor day sounds much more do-able.
Ummm, for those of us who don’t live in the US can you please tell us when Labor Day weekend is??
Aww, man, all I’ve got left to do is hang a painting and I’m done with the goals I set! But it’s okay. I’ll just make a few more goals instead. :)
