Well Hey There.

Oh, bloggy peoples.

What a delightful break I have had.

I’ve hung out with my family and gotten lots of work done and figured out our schedule for fall and eaten fried chicken and listened to some great new music and watched untold hours of Olympic coverage. So basically, you know, I’ve been living the dream.

One of my favorite things about the break was that since I wasn’t cranking out some average content for your semi-amusement a few times a week, I got to read way more blogs (and also: NEWS! FROM NETWORKS!) than I normally do. And – here’s a concept – I got to THINK about what I read. I got to explore pockets and corners of the blogosphere that I haven’t visited in awhile, and WHOA, NELLIE, was it ever enlightening. I actually had Some Serious Thoughts about how we really should be oh-so-thankful for our (very supportive, encouraging) little online community, and I’m going to try to write about that in the next couple of weeks, hopefully without boring you to the point that you gouge out your eyes with a plastic spoon.

As always, my goals are very ambitiousy.

So.

I’ll be back later today (let’s say 2-ish) with a REAL-LIVE MUSIC GIVEAWAY EXTRAVAGANZA, and the giveaway will only be open for 24 hours. You’ll have to CLICK LIKE THE WIND, my friends. CLICK LIKE THE WIND.

My daily links page is up and running again, too. Well, maybe not “running.” Right now it’s more of a slow jog. A slow jog with some side cramps and limping.

Finally: I can’t wait to tell you about the various and sundry funny things that have happened in our house the last few weeks. Or at least they’re funny to me. So maybe you can just indulge me and fake laugh and before you know it “The Office” will be on again and give us something really funny to talk about.

See? We’ll be back to normal in no time at all.

Back at 2-ish. With free stuff. Whoo-hoo.

  1. So glad you are back..I can’t wait to hear what all has gone on in your household.

  2. Glad you had a restorative time away – looking forward to the unfolding of recent adventures of your household. Really interested in Protecting of our community ideas you’ll present- you always surprise us! Thank you and glad to see you back –

  3. As I always say, “to walk on fertile ground, you’ve gotta restore the place from where it all grows!” Thanks for renewing your mind and your heart! Can’t wait for more BooMama-isms!

  4. The Office….oh…I cannot wait for the Office.

    Glad to see you back.

  5. BooMama, I just wanted to say welcome back.

I took the time of your bloggy break to get acquainted (meaning I read all your archives), so now I’m delurking (I’m the gal from NW Ohio who kept popping up on your sitemeter for the last couple of weeks).

You’re a joy, you’re a riot, and I’m so glad to “meet” you. I can’t promise you’ll find any though-provoking content over in my neck of the woods, but you’re always welcome to visit!

    Monica

  6. Oooooo–ambitiousy is a good word!! I like it! I like it!

    Welcome Back Kotter theme cues…

  7. Oh woman, how the internets have missed you! Glad you are back and in a typin’ frenzy.

  8. Can’t wait for 2!!!

  9. Funny that you mentioned being so grateful for this little community of bloggers we have here. I’ve been a regular reader for a long while, and an infrequent commenter.

But recent events in a forum to which I belong have made me very grateful that I have connections in a community like this that are positive and uplifting. Without the Lord at the center, this other forum has become snipe-y and snarky, and hard to navigate. Coming to blogs like this keep me balanced in my connecting. . .

    Glad you are back!

  10. Yay! She’s back! So glad you had a great bloggy break.

  11. Welcome back~ Glad you had a refreshing break.

  12. Angie Smith says:

Oh how I have missed you! Although the “Stunt Pillows” gave me middle-of-the night giggles several times. WIth the little trademark symbol? Ok, the giggles are starting again… Thanks so much for being you…

We just rented the first season of the Office (we’ve never seen it!) After the first couple of episodes, I told Todd I was deeply in love…

    :)

  13. Stephanie says:

    So glad you’re back!

  14. Welcome back!

  15. Anticipating The Office with joy! Found you through Annie Downs, my great friend.

  16. I finally added you to my blog roll list today… You are the one that helped me start my blog over a year ago. Have enjoyed keeping up with you over the year, and I love reading the “All Access” blog that you and Big Mama write for… Blessings to you!!

  17. Your enthusiasm is palpable.

    The word “ambitiousy” is fabulous.

And it sounds like your bloggin’ break has left you feelin’ groovy…

    …a very good thing :).

  18. Oh, The Office. I’ve been missing me some Jim. And, some Michael induced cringes. I heart The Office.

I’m glad you’re back. BUT, I loved reading from your archives.

  19. I’m glad you’re back and adding to the English language. I may use ambitiousy myself someday, if that’s alright with you!

  20. Ambitiousy!

    That’s a BooMama-ism at its finest. :)

  21. Glad you’re back. Glad for your break, but sooo glad you’re back.

  22. yeah you’re back!! Oh I’m so ready for some Office on Thursdays!

  23. Oh welcome Back Boo Mama welcome back!

Guess what? while you were on your bloggity break I got a brand spankin new knee installed! It’s great. Well on the outside it’s still all ouch and Halloweenie what with 42 staples and all, but inside, it doesn’t hurt anymore! At All! Yesterday I went to the MALL. I went SHOPPING! Yes okay there are crutches still but I feel like an Olympic athlete learning to shop again after an injury!

Anyway, all that to tell you that while I am recovering my niece has lent me the entire 2 seasons of the British The Office. And while I enjoyed it and think Ricky Gervais is a genius and will always appreciate that he shared the great idea with NBC, I just gotta say that I deeply love Jim and Pam and Dwight and Micheal and Andy et al. I just love me the American Office folk.

I think it was a pretty fair test as I am a Canadian. Again, British Office – great, amazing, ground breaking. Final special AWESOME! American Office – just simply my people.

  24. This past weekend i decided to just completely clear out my blog-reader and start over again. i figured i would NEVER catch up if i tried reading all 300+!! So now im back to a workable number each day so i can sit down and actually read the blogs and think about htem..just like you said. and i can actually comment now and then! What a concept..to actually communicate with the fellow bloggers! :) Glad to see you’re back..glad you had a great break. :)

  25. Great to see you back in blogging land. It was a little dull in your absence. So welcome back and hope you’re well-rested and ready to jump right back in. Lots of stuff has happened while you were gone… none of which I can remember. Surely, something cool has happened around blog land? Oh, maybe now. My world has been a bit wild with revisions, title votes and all that jazz.
    Welcome back

  26. We do have a wonderful community here, dont’ we?

Thanks for being one of the first blogs to open up that world for me.

Oh and leading me to Compassion, and on and on…

    Welcome Back!

  27. My windy clicker got blocked by mountains of multiple anniversary party preparations. No. Music. for. me.

    :(
