Hymned Again Winners

Okay. I don’t know what it is with the blogosphere and the name “Amy,” but there were NINETEEN Amys who entered this giveaway, and two of them won. I’m borderline obsessed with this phenomenon, because please remember that the winners are always selected RANDOMLY, BY A COMPUTER, and yet AT LEAST ONE AMY ALWAYS WINS.

Maybe the Amys of the world are secretly controlling the internet.

At this point I’m open to all theories.

Anyway.

Here are the ten winners of Bart Millard‘s (phenomenal) “Hymned Again” CD, TWO OF WHOM ARE NAMED AMY, OH MY WORD:

And by the way, in case you were wondering, I can tell which numbers match up with which commenters because this is what I see when I do a print preview of my comments:

It’s some bloggy numbering magic. And thanks to this handy print preview numbering system, I can now announce our winners in a remarkably stress-free fashion that requires no counting at all and therefore enables me to continue to avoid math.

20 – Amy (OF COURSE) – comment left at 2:22 on 8/18
74 – Stephanie
177 – Amanda
230 – karen

Winners, just email me your mailing addresses so that you can get your fabulous prize ASAP.

“Hymned Again” really is wonderful – such a fun, eclectic mix of sounds (blues, jazz, gospel – with just a smidge of big band thrown in for good measure). And if you want, you can order it for yourself right here, with a portion of the proceeds from today’s sales going to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.

Thanks, everybody, for such a great response!

  1. *sigh* Too many people comment on your blog! I wouldn’t even have 10 folks to chose from :P.

Maybe I can change my name to Amy????

Congrats to the ones who won!

  2. Thank you! Can’t wait to rock out to my CD and sing at the top of my lungs like a crazy woman as I walk my little beagle Daisy through the neighborhood.

Witnessing can take many forms, you know.

    Joanne (The Simple Wife)

  3. Oh wow! I can’t believe I won! It must be my lucky week! I won a $100 gas card on Saturday! Yeah! Off to email you now! Thank you so much!

  4. the only thing I’ve ever won was $75 in high school after a last-minute, last-ditch sales pitch for a soccer-team raffle. Still waiting to win the gold for giving up coffee!

  5. Woo hoo! I can’t believe I won something! I’m so pumped! Thank you, Boo!

  6. Oh, yes, I do believe I will change my name to Jackie Amysue to increase my odds of winning…has a nice ring to it, don’t cha think???

  7. Oh…..so many things for me to say!

YOU’RE BACK…I’m playing catch up with you last few posts. Sniff, sniff. I missed the giveaway. So, for the next giveaway, can I be an “Amy”? I mean, like Rena “Amy” Gunther. Just for a second? Kidding….

Glad you’re back. I’ve pouted a bit since you’ve been gone. But oh how I understand the need for a break. I’m still hanging on to the possibility of answered prayer (uh, a “YES” answer, of course) for a last minute getaway to one of my fav’s of God’s handiworks….The Ocean!

Now I’ve got some catching up to do…

    Rena

  8. Congrats, lovely Amanda and lovely Joanne!! (and I’m sure the rest of you are lovely too)

  9. Congratulations winners.

I’m gonna order the CD, it’s right up my alley.

  10. That’s it.

In high school, I always struggled with the name ‘Lavonda’ — what was my mother thinking? and she says she almost named me “Shawna” (better, I thought). Well, I’ve come to embrace my French heritage (probably enough French blood to fill my pinky finger, just like the Creek and Cherokee Indian blood in me) and now I am fine with it.

    Till yesterday.

    Now I’m going by Lavondamy.

(Congrats to everyone who won!) :)

  11. Man, I’m a day late and a dollar short for the giveaway! Better luck next time. I have a feeling there will be more giveaways in the future. Take care, Julie

  12. Indeed we are, we are secretly controlling the internet, posed as computer illiterate.

Ok – I am so excited to hear Beth and Travis, but I am even more excited to see me some BOOMAMA live and in person!!! (Except I promise I won’t call you BOOMAMA)

  13. Hey…question…who is number 554? Your random integer count included that number, but it wasn’t listed with the lucky peeps that won.

I’m guessing it wasn’t me, but I’m still curious.

Congratulations to all who did win. And thanks BooMama for doing this.

  14. The Amys are everywhere! My Bible study? Three Amys. My closest friends? More Amys. My sister-in-law? Another Amy. My VBS team? The three Amygos and me. It’s a conspiracy, I tell you.

  15. Don’t be doggin’ the Amy’s now! You’re always talkin’ some smack about us! ;) And I might just slip and be callin’ you Boo when I see you! I’m with Gulley, I can’t wait to be praisin’ the Lord with Boomama! (as if I’ll have a seat next to you or somethin’!)

  16. Oh the dreaded Amy name. I think it has something to do with the fact that according to the Internet Amy was the #2 name for the entire 1970’s with Jennifer being #1. I have always been one of 2 Amy’s at school, at church, etc. Right now at church there are 4 Amy’s in our S.S. class. In my son’s Kindergarten class last year there were 3 Amy’s that were moms in a class of 12 kids! It is a crazy phenomenon which is why I named my son WYATT. Because it was so unusual and wouldn’t you know that someone I know (also named Amy) also named her son Wyatt 2 months after my son was born. Now that’s just not right! Love you BooMama….you crack me up…..and I can’t believe I won 2 CD’s within a week. What are the chances. God must be wanting me to listen to some more spiritual songs!!! Thanks for the great blog and the great prizes!

  17. Amy in AL says:

Too funny about all the Amy’s… I’m with the others – I’ve been one of many all my life. Have you noticed there are no babies named Amy, though? Enough is enough, I guess!
(By the way – these are my first comments, and since I am, I must say I love your blog! I feel like I’ve made a new long-lost friend!) :)

  18. I didn’t enter but that is funny. I HAVE noticed that there are no babies named Amy which means…it’s going to be one of those names that goes out style? Like Myrtle? Oh no!

  19. I almost got excited when I saw 444 Michelle and then I clicked the link and someone else’s blog popped UP! Congrats Michelle with the pretty red prairie blog…

    Blessings.

  20. I was one of the Amy’s that didn’t win, but if you have a consolation prize for the most entered name, then we will gladly come out of the woodwork!!!

  21. And this is an Amy that didn’t even enter! Yes, we rule and we are taking over the earth. LOL
