1. The other night my husband watched “Heroes” on the DVR. I have tried to watch this particular television program for two years now, and I still don’t understand it even a little bit. Parallel universes, time travel, superpowers – totally out of my league.
However, if it were called “Project Heroes” and the objective was to design the most rockin’ superhero costume ever over a period of ten weeks with a finale at Bryant Park in New York City, I would be ALL OVER IT.
2. Flannel pajama bottoms make me happy. Particularly when paired with a long-sleeved t-shirt. In case you were wondering.
3. It occurred to me the other day that our busy October afforded us the opportunity to see the beach and the mountains all in the same month. This has happened in my life approximately never, mainly because I don’t think I’ve ever spent time in the mountains, period.
But sweet mercy at the gorgeousness of both.
So, so grateful to have seen such beauty during my absolute favorite month of the year.
4. I am covered up with great new music right now. I LOVE THAT. And I have a giveaway coming up for an incredible new artist whose lyrics are utterly captivating and thought-provoking and wonderful.
5. Please keep the Compassion Bloggers in your prayers as they travel to the Dominican Republic tomorrow. When I think of them, I think of this passage of Scripture:
“If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.” – Philippians 2:1-4
Amen.
Amen with you.
So glad for the blessings of your October, friend. So very glad!
Come and see our mountains and stay anytime. We have a lovely perspective of God’s handiwork!
Oooh, I’m first!
My husband just got season 1 of Heroes on DVD for us to start watching. We have spent every night this week staying up until 1 watching at least 3 per night. It’s the rule. Anyway, it’s pretty good. Not quite LOST, but it’s pretty good. But I’m with you on the Project Heroes. Especially if Christian came back for it.
I’ll have to check out Daniel’s music. You seem to like all the same kinds of music I do, so I imagine I’ll like him. Plus, in his picture he wears a hat that looks like Gavin DeGraw, who I LOVE, so the hat alone makes him listen-worthy.
Oh BooMama, you are a slightly deprived… for those are merely hills…
Cross the plains of the midwest and I’ll show you some REAL mountains.
But can we trade, for I am dying to see the ocean after many years out west???
The mountains and the beach in one month…that is just awesome. Both take my breath away with their beauty. It reminds me of what a great artist God is. Happy November Sophie! Here’s hoping it’s as full of blessings as October was!
I think Heroes is much too deep for my feeble mind to fathom. Quantum Leap was more my speed.
i love random lists! and i’m with you…i love october too! but i can’t lie–i was totally giddy last night. i happened to be up past midnight, so i flipped my wall calendar to november before i went to bed. i’m hoping november is as great as october for us! i love the start of a new month.
Flannel jammies and a t-shirt, is there anything better to wear? No! :)
I am from east Tennessee and of course it is surrounded by the Smoky Mtns. Beautiful! I also love the beach. I probalby love the beach more because there is nothing like being lulled to sleep by the sound of the ocean and I also enjoy palm trees. I wish they would grow here!
Happy Saturday!! Time to tailgate. :)
Love the ‘flannel bottoms & t-shirt’ too! A great combination for sure!
The pictures were terrific and I’m thankful you were allowed these trips during the month, what a blessing.
Praying without ceasing for safe travels and for this to be a trip blessed by HIM, and that all will go well this week.
Blessings today and always,
Kaye
I love that we’re having “soft pants” and long-sleeved tee weather… it’s my favorite!
My husband loves “Heroes”, too and I’m with you: I don’t get it! I’ve tried watching, but I can’t follow it the same way he does, and there are parts to me that are simply gross and disturbing. But alas, I’m supportive. :) And the sound of flannel pj’s with long sleeve shirts, oh heavenly! I can’t wait for the weather to get cold here in TX!!! Happy Saturday. :)
Wow! The pictures are both beautiful. :)
so beautiful.
your pictures and your scripture you shared.
We love Heroes, and are baffled at the “low” ratings this year.
And I loves me some flannel PJs with a LS t-shirt. But I’ve also recently discovered sweats from Aeropostale without the elastic at the bottom, and they are just as heavenly.
i also share your passion for flannel and long sleeved t’s and i just hopped on over to iTunes and checked out Daniel’s stuff and it was really good!!
Hi. I’m new here but I just wanted to say that I love your sense of humor. Oh, and I totally don’t get Heroes either. And I love fleece pj bottoms!
Today while flying into Washington DC I saw trees that looked just that gorgeous.
Thanks for the prayers!
Mary, in Miami this evening, and in the Dominican tomorrow evening, Lord-willing

2 October is my most favorite month too. I’ve been saying that for YEARS! Love it!!
3. The pictures you took are absolutely beautiful and I think frame-worthy! Sweet!
