And the most important question, what kind of cookies?
just moved from the kitchen counter to the bedroom. on the laptop with the tv on abc and a glass of wine. waiting it out now.
smiles!
The roommate seems to prefer FOX News network, so I’ll probably be glued to that tonight…maybe. I’ve got an awful lot of DVR to catch up on. Somebody’ll give me the news tomorrow.
Just getting ready to tune in.
CNN?
I would have taken you for a Fox News gal anyday!
Haven’t decided if I will watch on FOX–or hide under the covers until tomorrow!
Already had some German Chocolate Cake—skipped the cookies and went straight for the big gun!
I had to do a double take. That was the exact picture of where I am sitting(at the bar) and what I am doing (reading breaking news on laptop and switching channels…fox & cnn), in the room that I am doing it in. I had to call my husband in here just to look at your pic. He wanted to know if we planned this. lol But he did like the cookie idea.
Dropped off our ballots yesterday, got my “I Voted” sticker, turned off the TV.
I’m done. Can’t take it anymore.
I have been on Twitter all day too but saving the juicy TV coverage to share with my man over homemade soup ;) Happy Election Day!
We’ll be glued to FOX news tonight, on the TV and the laptop. I even took a nap today so I could stay up until the results are all in. Cookies sound like a great idea!
I’m not turning it on until we have a winner – we’re going to have family movie night instead! I don’t like listening to all the predictions & opinions for hours before the facts are set.
Cookies are great comfort food!
I’m checking CNN. Fox is notoriously biased, so if it’s your network choice watch it with a grain of salt (or maybe a bag).
I voted on Friday and have spent the last 4 days with my fingers in my ears saying “lalalala I can’t hear you.” I’ll find out tomorrow, and hopefully miss the drama :)
We are THAT family – the FOX graphics make me cuckoo. I like Chris Wallace, but I can’t take all the movement on the screen :-) So CNN it is. And we always watched ABC when I was growing up, so it has a certain nostalgia for me.
Took to a warm bath with a book. Now watching the King of Queens. Occasionally checking the networks. I, too, have some DVR to catch up on and whatever happens I plan on going to bed at 10:00.
I’ll be watching at the gym while I work out, and then probably in our home office with Husband after that.
Chex Mix for us over in Texas. My husband says we will watch unless certain states are called for the guy we DIDN’T vote for. If those states are called for the guy we DIDN’T vote for, then we are going to watch Iron Man. And eat Chex Mix. And possibly cry.
I’m checking in to the Drudge report every 30 minutes and I’m watching “PSYCHO” on Turner…preparation!
I will go FIND Glenn Beck…I hope.
FoxNews.
for just a bit tonight.
I’ll check in some more tomorrow, but getting ready for 15 ppl to stay in my home tomorrow night… cleaning doesn’t even BEGIN to describe what’s going on at my house tonight.
C’mon everyone, like we’re really gonna know tomorrow?? It’ll be weeks.
(I hope I’m wrong).
I don’t know–with 4 kids ages 10 and under, there are some news bits I don’t want them exposed to, yet. So we’ll probably watch Star Wars Clone Wars, and I’ll make cookies for the crew.
Then Chris and I will check the news before bed. We tend to watch Fox News, but I will watch anything except MSNBC–Chris is an all-out Fox fan.
Wish The Office were on…
We’re having comfort food for dinner-Breakfast casserole! Will be switching back and forth between NBC and CNN. My 12 year old wants to stay up all night. That would be a no.
Fox News in family room. Everyone watching in my house. Drudge on the PC.
God Bless America
I promised my hubby that I wouldn’t watch the news today. I am trying to keep my promise, fortunately I did not promise anything about calling friends and family who are watching the news for hourly updates.
First I have to watch the two-hour SNL Presidential Bash that’s calling my name on my DVR. Then I might turn on Fox News. Or I might watch Amazing Race. That race is more interesting to me. Phil Keoghan…hello?? There’s no competition.
ABC on one DVR, NBC on the other.
And I’m with Angela. I think I’m going to have to watch the recorded SNL to keep from hyperventilating.
We are popcorn people here.
Watching ABC, trying to get hubby to flip to Fox, surfing the net and capturing Li’l Empress’s first election day on the camera. It’s her first historic moment as an American citizen!
Might make cookies later, too. Peanut butter here, what about you?!
We are FOX newsers all the way. I love that Megan Kelly, that girl is so funny. But I doubt she will be on tonight. I can’t wait for tomorrow to get here already!
DEFinitely watching – but taking a brief hiatus so the kids can watch a movie while I catch up on computer stuff – blogging, facebook and email.
I’m listening to John Gibson at 4:00 PST at work and will go home and watch FOX. I’ll bake cookies to take th edge off!
We’re watching Fox News, and I made snickerdoodles for cookies and milk tonight for the kids before bed.
Listening to Glenn Beck online with Fox News muted on the TV. Cookies…what a great idea!
On the laptop with the television in the background (sticking with the local coverage). I’m consuming KitKats like there is no tomorrow…
watching CNN with hubs and some friends are on the way. I’ve got my cookies made but have yet to dig in because it’s going to be a long night I’m afraid…
Refusing to watch TV news of any sort – watching a grade B action movie we rented. I will go to bed not knowing the results and wake up tomorrow(probably not happy about the results) and go about my life – But I do want to know the proper cookies to make for watching results!
For the first time in my adult life, I have “opted out.” Crazy huh? The most important election in my lifetime, one I have been discussing and debating for months and I decide to spend the time with the TV off, played Old Maid, Crazy 8’s and Go Fish with the kids (thank you SuperTarget Dollar Aisle) and I just finished listening to Phillips Craig & Dean sing “Shine On Us.” Now listening to Kari Jobe sing “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, Holy Holy is He!”
Perhaps this what I need to be doing instead afterall! I feel such peace! But hey…that’s just the call for me. I say stick with Fox and go for chocolate chip cookies! :)
Blessings, friend!
Dori
Flipping between Fox News and CBS (for the local stuff) and stressing out a tiny bit. God is in control, God is in control, God is in control……
I’m flipping between Fox and CNN. I made strawberry cake earlier in the day to carry me through. I also have my not so hoopty laptop on my lap.
“Planning to make cookies if necessary.”
You are just the best. :)
I vote for making cookies! Yum! Just keeping updated online.
Flipping between FOX (I love FOX) and ABC.
God is in control.
election?
Wonder Pets are saving a baby animal in our house.
NObama or McCain will win without me obsessing over it.
I can’t believe I just typed that. (quick, click Submit before you hit the delete button!)
My husband keeps slapping my hands, as I continue to gnaw on my cuticles. I’m sitting on the bed in front of Fox News, with laptop readied.
Cookies sound good. I’ve already raided the kid’s halloween booty. It’s gonna be a long night. :)
I’ll take peanut butter blossoms, please.
I kinda zhush by the TV every now and again. I don’t have to keep track. My 12 y.o. son is o.b.s.e.s.s.i.n.g. over it.
Laptop: check. Fox News and CNN: check. Leftover Halloween Candy: check. Cell Phone/Home Phone: check. Praying, Praying, Praying: Check.
I’m just down the road if you need any moral support….
Fox News…and praying. Whatever happens, God is in control, I agree. Our hope is in Him.
FOX and ABC. Cleaning, folding laundry, and PRAYING, PRAYING, PRAYING.
Cookies sound like a good idea too!
I’m in Indiana.
And I keep hearing ‘All Eyes Are On Indiana’.
[And… all I can think is: I need to have my roots done.]
Watching Fox, CNN, ABC. Have FIVE websites open on MacBook. refresh*refresh*refresh
And horrified at the ROOTS! They are ~glowing~ in the blue light from the various TVs and computer screens.
I need some color before camera crews show up.
In bed with the hubby – flipping between the Green Mile and coverage on FoxNews.
It’s killin’ me.
Watching CNN in the living room, two computers going with a number of websites open.
For dinner I made a slew of appetizers, like one would for the Super Bowl.
Even this Canadian is refreshing MSNBC and switching between CNN and ABC.
But pretty soon I should go do laundry now that I am done my popcorn seeing as how it isn’t even my election.
Oh well.
going to bed now.
LOVE what Beth wrote on her LPM blog today about the election… perfectly sums up how I feel about it all.
and Amen to those of you up above me who said it: God is in control.
I wish I had my own blog — not that tech savvy though. If I did, I’d tell you all how my Meme (maternal grandmother)and my dad are both going to be under my roof tomorrow night – for the first time since my parents divorced 15 yrs ago… and Meme never liked my dad. Oh yes, and Mama will be here too. and my dad’s wife. and some of my friend’s husbands (all going on a blackhawk ride tomorrow with my man).
Oh yes, and a dear friend, who’s also my OB/Gyn…
I’m so out of my mind with cleaning I’m going on to bed! Aside from the drama (in my mind) of Meme and Daddy seeing being around each other for the first time, Do I really think that the man who cut my firstborn from my womb cares if there’s dustbunnies under the bed he’ll be sleeping in????
I’ll just get up tomorrow early and finish it all. and find out who our new president is (think I already can tell).
G’night!
For some reason my hubby decided he didn’t want to subject himself to an evening filled with projections. I’m dying to watch, but we’re sitting here watching Shrek instead. I keep checking online, though.
I made an apple pie too. . .the oven has been going since 6:00.
The verdict is in. . .we’re about to watch Iron Man.
I started watching (Fox) but was getting so worked up and had such a sick feeling in my stomach that I turned it off and put in my Annointed, Transformed, Redeemed DVD and watched a little Kay Arthur and then the hysterical bonus question and answer time. I feel so much better. I may have to go to bed and find out the details in the morning.
three TV’s on, and laptop at the ready. I can hardly stand it. Popcorn has been popped, and I made cookies this afternoon. Mountian Dew is on STANDBY.

Girl, I’m all over every network in America right now. Just depends on who is doing it for me at the moment. ;)
And…I needed to come get some “Compassion” filling on the internet in the midst of my blood pressure rising.
I’m in the den. We took a peek at ABC/CBS/NBC and now we have on a DVD. I don’t think that one single person that I voted for won anything! (well, perhaps an uncontested judge seat or two) I liked being reminded of Daniel 2:2 on the LPM site today: “God sets up kings and deposes them and gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning”
He is in control.
Sorry, that verse is Daniel 2:21 God sets up kings and deposes them and gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. Daniel 2:21!
Actually, I’m doing the same thing as you, exept replace Twitter with Facebook status. Very interesting. Our cookies are burnt though.
Watching the returns in the loneliness of the office at the hospital, since I am on 24 hour call today.
I did leave to vote and collected my Starbucks and KK donut.
THAT was the highlight of my day. And probably the next four years. Unless there is another B’ham Blaw-Her that I get to attend, then that would top today.
But God IS in control. Amen.
Flipping between Foxnews and CNN. I am trying to find some good in all this. But right now it is hard.
CNN, MSNBC, Fox & now Comedy Central for the Stewart & Colbert show! What an exciting night!
My chocolate of choice tonight is M&Ms!
On the couch. M&M’s. Reading and writing blogs to distract myself from the chaos that is on TV.
Forget the cookies. I just want some cookie dough!
I voted and now, I just saw history made.
Been watching it unfold on Fox. Wrote about my reactions on my blogs in the wee hours of the morning and again this evening. I’m not gonna lie – I’m not a happy girl, but I am trusting Him. He has been amazing to me today. Hope you will read the postings – and maybe take away some encouragement.

And, Boo, can I have some milk with my cookies?
Obviously I’m a minority here — a liberal and a Christian! :)
I’m laughing and crying…and hopeful.
Watching sappy Lifetime Movies. Catching up on emails and blogs. Have no clue what is going on. Makes no difference anymore–I voted, did my part, and the rest is out of my hands.
I’ll find out sooner or later.
Fox News of course presh!
Fox News!! It’s the only way to go…. but I’m sad cuz the “other guy” won :(((((
Fox News! Always!
Been watching Fox and ABC. No NBC at our house.
Watching the speech now.
watched Fox and CNN all night. Now i’m heartbroken…. =(
No coverage. I figured that I told God that I trust in him no matter the outcome. I voted, then I ignored everything all day. And tonight, I had the pleasure of watching Return of the King with my kids… well, at least an hour of it. Then they hit the hay and I spent the time wisely catching up on blogs.
Cookie, you are not alone!
Well, to be honest, I’m slightly annoyed that the election has taken over my TV. I’m missing my shows….
I’m Canadian, and we just had our own election in October! To which I sat glued to CBC.
Watched CNN, NBC, ABC, MSNBC and a tinnnnnny bit of FOX. For those who only watch FOX–you must watch more than one source to be better informed. I, too, am a minority here I suppose–Liberal and Christian! Our new President is a good man and we must all pray for him that he is able to help this country get back on track. It will take all of us sacrificing, praying, being fair and open-minded, getting out there and lifting up our brothers and sisters with service to this country!
I love this blog Boo Mama! You are funny and I feel that we could be great friends!
My scene was exactly like yours but instead of the kitchen, it was the couch!
TV on in the background, flipped between CNN, MSNBC & Fox. Found it funny that one station would “call the state” and then 15 minutes later, another channel would call it. Made me wonder how channel #1 had the inside scoop? Hummm.
Laptop in the lap, flipping between various sites (even broke it up with facebook! ha!).
No cookies for me. I’m on a “no carbs for 2 weeks” (insert “AHHH!” here). But oh how I wished for some cookies. BIG TIME!
I’m a Canadian, and a conservative to boot but… when I saw the tears in the eyes of every black reporter as Obama won on every network I watched I couldn’t help but wonder whether there were bigger issues than even the economy at stake here? God is sovereign and He is in control. I can’t wait to see what He does through this man at this time in history.
We clicked around on pollster.com, fivethirtyeight.com, the excellent county-by-county maps on nytimes.com, andrewsullivan.com, and a whole lot of CNN/Fox/MSNBC flipping, at least until Karl Rove started singing “The Eyes of Texas.”
We’re political science geeks. Election Day is like Christmas for us.
I did not watch the election coverage. I think 2 years was plenty. I knew I would just work myself up in a frezy, so I decided to spend time with my hubby. I think I made the better choice. Watching it would not have changed the outcome. So even though those I voted for did not win, I will still pray for them; instead of bad mouthing.
LOL _ I did the exact same thing. One laptop had streaming video from CNN. The other had twitter, facebook, and a few liveblogs. Hooray for the Internet!
OK by this time everyone is down from their junk food high and I appreciate greatly Sophie taking time to let me know Chocolate Chip are the appropriate cookies for watching excessive news coverage. WOo hoo- we would probably have made oatmeal but then we like that fiber!
New reader!
We sat on the living room couch and watched ABC on TV and my fiancee had the CNN map on his laptop!
