– The Mother Letter Project – y’all, this is such a sweet idea. You have to check this out – it’s one of the most wonderful things a husband could ever do for his wife. Absolutely precious. (via Shannon)
– Jack Bauer is back. For one night only.
(At least until January.)
– As part of my quest to use as much cream cheese as possible between now and the end of the year, last night I made these appetizers for Bible study. They are so pretty and so delicious.
I do, however, make a few changes to the recipe: 1) I trim the crust off the bread slices and then cut the slices in half – you get more mileage out of your bread that way. 2) I don’t use horseradish; I use a cup of mayonnaise instead. 3) I put a little piece of crisp bacon on top of each mini-sandwich. 4) I use dried dill instead of fresh dill because I think it’s pretty to sprinkle it all over a serving plate.
And these are so great as “big” sandwiches, too – the cold tomato and the soft egg and the crispy bacon are deeeee-lightful together.
The end.

Did you notice that Walmart has Philly cream cheese for 1.18 a box? I am so happy!
I heart Jack. Sigh. Thanks for the reminder.
I’ve been living on this caramel apple dip. You know, minus the apples.
2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup caramel ice cream topping
In a small mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and brown sugar until smooth. Add caramel topping; beat until blended. Serve with fruit. Refrigerate leftovers. Yield: 3 cups.
Thank you so much. Just thought I’d let you know that my wife and I really dig 24. Addicted, even.
i am the biggest 24 lover there is!!!! jack is the man!!!
Just found your blog.
Love. It.
Count me in on the Christmas Open house … sounds like fun!
Those are the yummiest things ever! Thank you for bringing them last night and giving me a new thing to desire! I am already wondering how I will mess up this lovely recipe! Go State tomorrow!Love, MC
JACK BAUER!!!!!!!
YAY! Jack is back! I love Jack!
Oh I already have my DVR set to record Jack! I only hope the next season isn’t as disappointing as the last one. I almost gave up.
I’m so glad you finally mentioned Jack… now that he is back he can be there for you in the event of any other cable repairman issues in the future…
1. Isn’t the Mother Letter Project the sweetest thing a hubby could EVER do!? Can’t wait to write my letter.
2. You and my husband would get along soooo well. If I have to hear about the 24 movie much more, I may begin to pray for temporary deafness. It has DOMINATED his facebook page for CLOSE to a month now. Seriously! I tried…..I really did!!!
3. Cream cheese runs a close second with butter and real cream in my house……I can’t get enough of it!!! I am going to be making a divine pumpkin cream cheese roll this weekend. Let the yumminess begin!!!
This will be the first season of 24 that Hubs and I will be watching as it happens. In the past, we have rented all the seasons from Blockbuster and had marathon 24 weekends. So fun! But I don’t think I want to wait for this season to come out on DVD. Definitely will TiVo it though. Hubs hates commercials.
Hey there, just wanted to say I recently found your blog and went through it having a good ole time! You are so funny! Where do you live and can we be friends?! haha Really, you are so fun and real. You have a new devoted reader… :)
