Linky Interwebby Awesomeness 02.04.09

– Want to try to win a free Praise Baby Sleepy Time Lullabies DVD? Head on over to the Praise Baby blog. The giveaway lasts through Monday, February 9th.

– Um, HOW DID I MISS THIS? I just found Pioneer Woman’s recipe for homemade Ranch dressing, and I AM SO DELIGHTED.

– And this isn’t a link, but I just wanted to let you know that, as a result of my husband’s ongoing quest to obtain the fastest possible internet speeds at the lowest possible prices, my BellSouth email address won’t be active after this Friday. I’ve switched to Gmail (gMail? GMail?), and my new address is boomama205 AT gmail DOT com.

  1. I believe you were correct the first time: Gmail.

…and I’d love to hear what ISP you’ve chosen. I’m more than fed up with Bellsouth.

  2. Sara McNutt says:

“gmail” Little “g”, little “m”. Thought you could use a push in the right direction. :)

  3. Sara McNutt says:

SHOOT. I’m so wrong. “Gmail” Big “g”, little “m”. I hate when I do that. All praise goes to Erica (A Yankee in Jawja).

  4. OK. Her ranch dressing is to die for. Her cream cheese stuffed, bacon wrapped, jalepenos will MAKE YOU CRY (and not from the heat). Her “fluffy new potatoes” are insane (but use a little less garlic than she recommends). And her chocolate sheet cake…well, we’ve discussed that before. Ridiculous.

    Mkay. Now I’m really hungry.

  5. B-Mama,

You may want to code that e-mail on your post so that you don’t get to be B-Mama Spamalot.

    Love,

    Amy Baileysleafalot

  6. OK, I am dying to know the dirt about the fastest internet at the lowest prices. We are trying to decide if we can bundle cable, internet and phone all together and save money and have high speed, which I need for work. We are looking at comcast and AT T, but frankly I despise both companies for their lack of customer service, so would love to know what boo daddy found.

  7. Oh, Pioneer Woman can cook. The ranch is delicious- go easy on the garlic. I’ve made the blackeyed peas- yummy, the cinnamon rolls- incredible, flank steak marinade- incredible, zucchini cakes- pretty good, and even her chex mix. Her recipes have excellent flavor. I consult her site first before looking elsewhere for recipes. You will be soooooooo hooked.

  8. Gmail is great, takes a bit of getting used to so just be patient, and feel free to shout out any questions about it that you may have.

One of the best parts is that if you have other web based email accounts gmail can gather them in, and this is the best part, send them out using the original address. So unless you close the other account you never have to tell anyone you changed your email address. It is magic.

  9. p.s. Picasa, google’s free picture sorter\albumizer\red eye remover etc is also really really great.

  10. Well, have mercy, I have been hanging around the blog world for almost a year and HOW, I ask, HOW have I missed Pioneer Woman? I just spent the last hour reading the love story.

And alas, the laundry waits again. I guess my kids will have to wear clothes from the only-wear-this-if-everything-else-is-dirty stack. Oh well. It was worth it.

  11. Stupid bellsouth. I have them to and I’m so done with them.

  12. Thank you for the Ranch dressing link – saves me from emergency imports of Ranch dressing packets.

  13. THe Pioneer Woman…she rocks. I LOVE her recipes. Just made the steak bites this weekend. We love the MM’s favorite sandwich too.

  14. Dear Boo-Mama,
Ok…I’ve read your blog for two days. And so far… I’ve accomplished NOTHING at home!!! Last night, I followed your link to Pioneer Woman and spent the ENTIRE evening reading her love story. The ENTIRE evening…. til 12:41!!! Yikes! Great story. Great blog! Thanks for the link. However, I think I may need to implement some discipline with regard to your blog! haha!

I’m so glad someone directed me to you!

Have a fantastic day! We’re at -17F up here today (-27celsius). A wee bit chilly!

  15. I was thinking of changing my email address to gmail and thanks to Rutheee, I now know I’ll be able to do that without sending out a change of address to everyone with my current addie.

Oh, and Boomama, I’m missing your commentary over at the American Idol site. Have I missed something? Are you no longer doing that?

  16. try her steak bites… it is butter and steak heaven!!!

  17. Gmail is the greatest!! I now have 2 separate accounts- one for personal (my name is the address) and one for the blog (the blog is the address). I love that it’s free and you can forward to any other email.

  18. Love Gmail – no spam, ever for me. Have to love that!
