So I’m a full week late to Jim and Pam’s wedding, and I’m pretty sure that my tardiness is outside of all etiquette bounds. But there’s no way I can watch tonight’s episode without watching Jim and Pam first, and that’s exactly what I’m going to do.
So. Two episodes of “The Office” in one night. AND “30 Rock.”
It’s a better TV lineup than I deserve.
The wedding highlights:
– “This is a firecracker-free wedding.”
– “You’re lucky to have a grandmother. Some of us have to be our own grandmother.”
– “What happens in Niagara stays in Niagara.”
– “Two years ago she sold a mountain bike…and she had a couple of hundred dollars to spend, you know, if she was able to sell her bike.”
– “Not only is Erin really sweet and cute – she smells like my mom.”
– “We should have hired a professional to take our mental pictures.”
– “Hello. My name is Dwight Schrute. If you are listening, it’s because you are a lucky woman….”
– “Confirmation number Romeo, Tango, G, 7, 7, 4, 5.”
– “When Mary was denied a room at the inn, Jesus was born. When Michael was denied a room at the inn, we don’t know what happens because that story hasn’t been told yet.”
– “Nobody’s perfect.” // “Well, I wouldn’t care to live if I thought that.”
– “Just going to do a little freestanding comedy, and if at the end everybody wants to raise their glasses to Pam and Jim then so be it. Hey. What is the deal with the smart car? How smart is that? Those things are tiny.”
– “A lot of people told me I was crazy to wait this long for a girl that I was friends with, but I think, even then, I knew that I was waiting for my wife.”
– “My point is that I said what I wanted to say, and MeMaw, I hope you heard every word.”
– “MeMaw, I think you need to chill out…it’s not 1890 anymore.”
– Meredith and Andy dancing, MY WORD.
– “Are you pushing me off the phone? // No. Let’s talk for a long time.”
– “It’s funny, your wife loved this hat the last time she saw it.”
– KEVIN’S TOUPEE’.
– “I have taken it on myself to do something a little more special. I have painted a portrait of the two of them. From memory.”
– Jim cut his tie! THE SWEETEST EVER.
– The wedding processional. I have no words. But I laughed REALLY loudly when Dwight kicked the bridesmaid in the face.
– “The boat was actually plan C. The church was plan B. And plan A was marrying her a long, long time ago. Actually the day I met her.”
– “I got six numbers. One more would have been a COMPLETE telephone number.”
Well. That was perfection.
No wonder y’all loved it so much.

i cried. i’ll admit it freely.
The whole thing with Kevin’s shoes, the kleenex boxes, and putting his feet in the ice machine was hysterical.
There were moments that were so uncomfortable it hurt a little! But oh so funny! That dancing scene. Oh my!
Best. Episode. Ever.
When Dwight kicked the MOH in the face, I had to pause the DVR to laugh properly. Oh my word!
And the boat. Oh my the boat. I was a crying mess. Love Big Tuna!
xo
Wasn’t that THE funniest episode ever! Hubby and I laughed our heads off. Tonight’s was a little more boring.
Glad you enjoyed it so much!
“I bought the boat tickets the day I first saw that YouTube video.”
!!!!!
Loved the wedding episode – all the characters were at their eccentric best.
I was feeling uneasy about the previous episode (Jim is associate manager), then I realized that we need Jim and Pam be above the fray that all the rest of the characters (who we dearly love) live in.
Oh, I’ve waited for this post for a week! I nearly forgot some of these. It was one of the best episodes ever. Sadly though, I think my favorite thing was Dwight kicking that girl in the face! Why did that make me laugh SO hard?
Also…I will NEVER use the hotel ice again…EVER! ;-)
“They’re naming the baby after you. They’re naming it Memaw.”
“You mean Silvia?”
“Yes. SilviO if it’s a boy.”
I already watched it twice, but I LOVED reliving it through your highlights.
I loved when they were dancing in the hotel and Erin said, “What else ya got?” and the Kevin said, “Yeah, what else ya got?”
I laughed, I cried, and watched it all over again. The dance sequence was amazing!
We were getting ice at the hotel this past weekend and I really had to think twice… “My dogs are killing me” kept ringing in my head. Thanks Kevin!
Glad you got your office groove back Miss Sophie.
I could not help it when Jim cut his tie – I cried! Sweetest thing I have EVER seen! They had a lot to live up to with this wedding, and I think they surpassed it!
I loved your recap and the comments! Some of the moments I had forgotten-guess I didn’t take enough mental pictures!
They are my favorite fake couple ever.
After the scene where Jim cut his tie I tearfully said to the hubby, “Why don’t you love me as much as Jim loves Pam???”
I LOVED IT!!! I cried, sobbed actually but that might be more due to pregnancy hormones than anything else. Also, laughed til I cried at the wedding processional and Kevin’s Kleenex box shoes!
Thank you, it was well worth the wait!
Best episode ever! I have even saved it on my DVR and have rewatched it a few times now.
I loved this episode with one (major) exception: Why did the writers/producers of the show decide to change the character of Pam’s mom. I am okay with another actress playing the character but in this case it’s an entirely different person. We originally met Mrs. Beasly when Pam was dating Roy (in the episode about sexual harassment) and she was a sweet mom, the kind of mom that baked cookies for an after school snack. But at the wedding, the mom was more of a “here’s a pack of oreos; don’t get crumbs on the persian rug” kind of mom.
Just sayin’. I couldn’t get past that.
Regardless, I did enjoy the rest of the episode. My favorite was the tie. :D
I have never been so happy about a fake wedding. My heart was about to burst.
I bawled my eyes out while watching this episode. OK, so I was long overdue for a good cry and Jim & Pam was all it took. Love, love, LOVED Kevin’s kleenex box shoes!
