1) Tomorrow I’m doing two giveaways – my last two of the year, in fact. One will go up around 8-ish tomorrow morning, and the second one will go up around noon-ish (central time, of course). The first giveaway is awesome, and the second – well, WORDS ESCAPE ME. It’s the biggest giveaway I’ve ever done. I CANNOT WAIT.
2) Nester has posted all the need-to-know information for this year’s Christmas Tour of Homes on December 14th. Remember, this year we’ll be touring at Nester’s blog, not mine.
3) Last week I made this beef stew recipe, and I’m still thinking about it. So delicious. Wish I had doubled the recipe because we would’ve happily eaten it for another couple of meals.
p.s. I added carrots.
p.p.s. Because my husband sort of adores carrots.
4) Finally, several of y’all mentioned in the comments of my last post that you love a good candle (AMEN, sisters). And I just wanted to mention that this candle is one of my very favorites during the Christmas season. This one is a close second. I stock up when they’re half price, and they last forever and smell so great. Love ’em.
See y’all tomorrow!
I’m lovin’ my candles. :)
Cinnamon and clove – I can smell it now.
Nancy
Their Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin candle is dreamy as well.
Mmm… I’ve been looking for a good candle. I’ve always been a Yankee Candle kind of girl, but they’re just kinda failing me this year.
I added carrots too! very delish.
All I’m saying is, if it’s a Cricut, I want it. I already didn’t win one on Design Mom, I do not want to not win one here too. So… see what you can do about that, won’tcha? Thanks!
Not to start it allover again, BUT my sis in law has a PSL from Starbucks the other day and is now in love. Just an FYI:)
and yes “allover” is officially one word now, I just decided for us all;)
Cinnamon and Clove Bud is my all time favorite candle scent. Sugared Plums from Yankee Candle is a close second.
I had to laugh when I clicked on your first candle link! I posted on Facebook just the other day that the Fresh Balsam candle smell makes me HAPPY. I love it. In fact, I can smell it right from where I’m typing this. :o)
I made that stew too – it was wonderful! I haven’t quite figured out why she always uses both olive oil and butter – there must be a reason – but I have converted. I made my own recipe today, one that I usually just saute the onions in butter but today I added a little olive oil too. Extra fat – how could it be bad?
I made that recipe too! Actually the first PW recipe I have ever made although I love her. My stew turned out a little different than hers – not enough “gravy” in it….gonna make a little change next time but the family loved it! Next I am going to try her recipe from today – with the shrimp and linguine in foil packets….yumm!
I always enjoy the links you post and really look forward to them. Well, I look forward to all of your posts, but whatever. Anyway, I was wondering if you would consider doing a little shout-out for our Christmas contest (benefiting Compassion Intl.)? It’s HUGE…I’m not kidding;)

Oh glory, I spent a FORTUNE today at Bath and Body Works buying those cinnamon and clove candles. They’re my very favorite thing in the world. (I’m also a fan of the wallflowers plug-ins. Everyone comments how yummy my house smells.)
Sophie: I too made that beef stew recipe and my sweet husband said “you can make this again.” Thank you very much.
I wish I had added carrots – you are so BRAVE. I was scairt to mess with the PW’s plan…but I will next time because I missed the carrots too.
Also, I’m wondering if this would do good in the crock pot. I like for the meat to be falling-apart-tender.
Love your blog – love you,
“Georgia Jan”
Have you seen Dave Barnes Christmas Extravagan Za for this year? OH! IT IS SO FUNNY!! http://www.youtube.com/THEdavebarnes#p/u/0/50Mb_P2sB3w
I printed this recipe and plan to make it this weekend. Thanks for sharing!
I just found out that my co-worker’s plug-in thing is the same B&BW fragrance as your favorite candle. And so now I can say YES, it smells GOOD! Actually, when I asked her what it was, I said, “What’s making it smell like Christmas in here?” Mmmm…nice.
