It’s been so long since the last episode of “The Office” that I can barely remember who’s who. A boss named Michael Something-or-Other? A cute couple named Tim and Jan? A banjo-playing a cappella singer named Randy?
I have no idea.
I don’t even remember what the last episode was about, honestly, so I’m just gonna pick up with this one like it’s a brand new day and roll with it.
I can hardly wait to see Reed!
1) “Michael is Dunder-Mifflin’s highest ranking employee. So that’s where we are.”
2) “For the record? Not on board with fake Stanley. But I get it.”
3) “I wear many hats. The one I’m wearing currently is that of gracious host.”
4) “SAVE BANDIT!” (one of my all-time favorite moments, by the way)
5) “That’s what she said.”
6) “I don’t know how I’m going to get through this. I don’t want to lie. And I DON’T want to tell the truth.”
7) “HR Puffnstuff”
8) “Jim has got it bad for Pam.” // “Which one is Pam?”
9) “Computron experiencing emotion.”
10) “Sittin’ in my office with a plate of grilled bacon!”
So apparently tonight was some sort of clips show. I was not expecting to only see six whole minutes of new material, so color me disappointed.
My verdict? Old stuff: funny. New stuff: not-so-funny. Except for that rap at the end. Because that part made me laugh.
What did y’all think?

Agreed, Boo Mama!
Yours in Christian Consternation,
Brittnie
yup. it was a tad disappointing to get a clip show after such a long absence. BUT while the rap at the end wasn’t new, it did showcase one of my favorite office lines of all time: “Call poison control if you’re bit by a spider/But check that it’s covered by your healthcare provider.”
CLASSIC.
Got a little nervous with all the old clips playing.
Makes me wonder if they’re airing they’re last season.
I was a little disappointed with the new material as well.
Favorite line was about the fake Stanley.
I just loved the clips, we were laughing so hard!
Yep, seemed eerily like a farewell is on the horizon. I hope I’m wrong!
100% agreed. I am not a fan of “writers are in a pinch and spent too much time on hiatus in Bora Bora, so let’s put together a show of old episode spots.” Bleh. One thumb down, the other one, up.
I am with you… a little disappointed it wasn’t a whole new episode but Computron made me laugh as did many of the old clips :)
I’m just hoping that does not mean the last season…what ever will my husband and I do on Thursday nights?
We were kinda bummed too, although I enjoyed seeing Angela’s cat get thrown through the ceiling and the Kelly/Darrell clip. The Dunder Mifflin song (people person’s paper people) always brings a smile to my face.
I agree kinda weird! I did still laugh a LOT! Some of the stuff I can watch over and over and still laugh so hard. I hope it’s not the last season though! Hopefully next week will be so much better!!
Scranton Electric City! WHAT??
HA
I can’t watch until tomorrow, but I can’t wait to see and let you know!
I can’t imagine that they’d be preparing for the last season yet. There’s a lot more to come, at least for this season…

And I’ve always loved a good clip show. Definitely some great moments in this one. I think it was just a way to ease into the 2nd half of the season.
I hated it!! I was so dissapointed! We own all the seasons and watch them ALL THE TIME…so the clips were not well received here… :)
I’ve never watched the office but I keep hearing about how good it is…how funny it is. I’ll have to check out some episodes online and see what the show is all about.
I agree they needed more material, but I did laugh so hard with the recap of Dwight and the bat in the bag over Meredith’s head, then he says, “You can thank me later” or something deadpan like that, and that and her getting hit by the car… I think my humor might be a tad off skew. But come on, that is funny! The fake Stanley and Ryan still in the closet… priceless! Where was Jim?
I laughed a lot at the clips, but I did not expect that. It seems like they were caught off-guard with a new season or something. Also had the feeling of a farewell episode, but that is not happening anytime soon. Weird.
I don’t think “that’s what she said” is ever going to get old for me.
I am pretty much NEVER a fan of the flashback episode. And after such a long hiatus, it was not quite enough for me.
I enjoy reading your blog.
I’m a HUGE fan of the office. The flashback episode was not enough for me either. Don’t get me wrong, when I saw certain parts I thought, “I’m going to pull that season out and watch it.” But…I’m scared they are preparing us for a last season or something…I’m so nervous right now………..
You should watch Community. It is my new fav since the Office is not so funny anymore! Check it out and GO STATE!
A total disappointment for my fiance and me! We DVR every episode of the office, so we’ve seen almost every clip…. but still laughed at all of them – of course I always cover my face during the scene with Dwight/Meredith/the bat – scary! My fiance is now convinced that Jim’s not coming back. I’m not so sure. But we wonder what in the world we will do on Thursday nights now!
True! But it was fun to see some scenes that must have been cut in their original episodes! And seeing the whole video of the Scranton rap was hilarious.
I loved it.
That’s what she said at the picnic…hilarious.
Creed is one of my favorites.
And the song they played for the Jim and Pam clips is the group Travis…they are awesome.
And Toby is very under-rated…he is great at what he does.
I was caught off guard by the clips also. Of course they were funny, so I guess I can’t complain about that. I did notice that Jim wasn’t in any of the new stuff last night which I thought was weird.
“Computron experiencing emotion”….I have already lost count of how many times my husband and I have said that to each other since last night.
who is reed??
4) “SAVE BANDIT!†(one of my all-time favorite moments, by the way)
And also one of mine! Definitely in my Top 5 of ALL TIME.
Somehow I missed when Jim Christmas wrapped Dwight’s desk the first time around, so that was a good clip, but it certainly did feel like the end of a season. :(
I, too, was a little disappointed in the lack of new stuff, but laughed my head off at all of the “memories.”
… Hoping it was a slideshow of sorts as they finish up their fantastic Christmas/ New Year break, and then next week will be awesome! Mainly I’m hopeful that this is not the beginning of the end of Thursday nights with our friends from Scranton:(
I agree that it was good to see the old clips, but I did miss new material. I really pray this isn’t the last season.
The Stanley line made me actually snort. The video clip of all the “that’s what she said” moments did make me laugh.
No it was good. See, Dunder Mifflin is for sale and they had this fact checker guy come in and scope the place out. It was hilarious. The old clips were great too. NO, you can’t get down on The Office. It’s too good!
I was disappointed too…I was looking forward to a new episode…the montage of jim and pam was sweet though!
I was also worried it might be the last season. It felt like an underlying farewell theme. But hopefully I’m wrong! I was looking forward to new material after such a long break. Was disappointed to see all the clips. That’s why I buy the dvds isn’t it?
We just got to watch it last night and the whole time I felt like I was watching the show’s finale! It was fun to see all the old clips, but I hope it’s not the end!
Your blog singlehandedly caused me to start watching The Office and now I LOVE it!! I look forward to each of your Office recaps too!
Oh, how I love The Office!
Favorite line:
“If they stay in there too long, they’ll all get on the same cycle. It’ll wreak havoc on our plumbing.”
Who said it?
I haven’t even watched the entire episode yet. Husband and I started on it last night and about 5 minutes into it he said he wasn’t watching a recap show. So I’ll finish watching it later.
AND
Our DVR wigged out and only recorded 3 minutes of 30 Rock. It was a completely disappinting Thursday night of TV!
how could you not love it? all of the best clips from the past in one show. my hubby and i were rolling. his favorite comment was definitely the fake stanley! i do agree that i am ready for some new material. yay for a new season and hoping that it is not the last!
I waited a month– for a clip show.. :(
Boo Mama-
I was thinking about starting my own blog because you’ve inspired me! I love your fresh and positive outlook on life. Your blog makes me giggle too! Thoughts?
It was a little disappointing to not have a whole new episode, but I still crack up watching the old stuff. My husband and I also love to watch the reruns on TBS. But I’m racking my brain trying to remember the Save Bandit phrase – what was that about?!
Never mind. I looked it up. Didn’t remember or realize that was Angela’s cat’s name. That was funny when she threw him up there!
