A Spinning Brain Is A Working Brain

Even though I still haven’t watched last week’s episode of “The Office,” I’m going to do a MAJOR step-out and watch this week’s. It remains to be seen if the earth will continue to spin on its axis. ONLY TIME WILL TELL.

1. “Hello, Vancouver. This is Michael Scott calling from the United States of America.”

2. “I’m not seeing anything under ‘confirmation.'” Could it be under ‘affirmation’? Because you have THOUSANDS of those.”

3. “I’m treating you the same as a man, for whom I would also not stand. Unless it was the president. Or Judge Judy.”

4. “I don’t know how things work in Florida – which, from your descriptions, sounds like a colorful, lawless swamp – but here it takes two men to do one job.”

5. “Well, Jim, where I’m from there are two types of people: those who ain’t, and those who are knee-high on a grasshopper. Which type ain’t you ain’t? Y’all come back now.”

6. “Just choosin’ seats. Not gettin’ married. Chop-chop, little onion.”

7. “What are you reading?” // “The Atlantic.” // “Oh, that is my favorite ocean.”

8. “You can take the ‘man’ out of ‘salesman,’ but you can’t take the ‘sales’ out of ‘salesman.'”

9. “I wish I had a brain.”

10. “Why don’t you let me handle the Tolkien references? Okay, dumb jock?”

11. “It’s no wonder that Andy gave Kelly such a romantic card. I can’t compete with her. That girl can sing and dance and gets all her clothes at the mall.”

12. “Is it the dogs?” // “Michael. It’s Phyllis.”

13. “I didn’t see you. And you were there all along.”

14. “Yours in professionalism, Nard Dog.”

15. “MICHAEL!”

I thought tonight’s episode was just as cute as it could be. Even with the whole Sabre plotline, it felt a little bit like old times.

And Jim’s back at the sales desk. All’s right with the world.

  1. Oh my!!!! What about Andy with the kleenex up is nose, “waiting on a nose bleed”. I could not stop laughing, it was actually painful after awhile.

  2. I loved tonight. It did feel like old times :) I loved that…she buys her clothes at the mall!

  3. I haven’t watched it yet, but I can only imagine some of those situations. I think it was more fun to read about the silliness in advance!

  4. It felt good for Jim to be back as a salesman, didn’t it? Although Michaels run with with made me happy. The best, though, was when Erin was helping him set his office back up and running though the checklist of electronics.

  5. I too loved the “it isn’t the smell, I’m waiting for a nosebleed” line. Thought of you and wondered if it would be in your quotes today.

  6. Didn’t see it, but wish I had. Did catch the tale end of 30 Rock last night, and that was a lil’ scary… ha!

  7. Paula Huber says:

When Jim put Dwight’s tie in his coffee at the end, it felt like old times.

  8. last night’s episode made me sigh with contentment. it felt like my Office had returned from a long absence. when jim put dwight’s tie into his coffee, i felt like some order had been restored to the universe.

  9. My Chris and I laughed so hard. We had to pause it a few times just to laugh!

I’m with Paula, the tie in the coffee was classic! And the sulfur smell made us laugh a lot, especially that Phyllis sent out an email to explain it.

The dogs and Andy made me really uncomfortable. Though Chris laughed…

  10. Heather Condict says:

Oh my word, that was so funny. My poor boyfriend was trying to do homework and I couldn’t hold in my giggling.

  11. I started clapping and saying “Jim’s back, Jim’s back”. Good choice on watching this week instead of last, this week was much better.

  12. I flipped between The Office and Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains.

    Loved it! Funny stuff.

  13. The closing of the card was my favorite line of the night. Loved it. Watching last week’s episode will make this week’s episode a little more meaningful I suppose. And I love the self-referential ending that indicated the writers know what the people want and balance was being restored. Now we must wait until after the Olympics for more funny.

    Do you watch Community?

  14. I loved loved loved it when Kelly kissed Andy at the copier!! Oh my!
The whole episode made me so happy!!

  15. I thought there for about 5 minutes they were REALLY gonna shake things up by leaving Michael in sales…but they are right to do what they did. It’s absolutely true that he couldn’t handle it. AND IT WAS AWESOME. A great episode overall…

    I’m LOVING the Andy/Erin thing!!!!!

  16. I loved it! And the reference to Tallahassee made me squeal (I live there!!)!!!! Loved the tie in the coffee. :)

  17. #12 made me positively SNORT with remembrance!! BWAAAHHHAAAHAAAHAAA!!

    SULFUR!! :D :D :D :D

Good gravy, that makes me laugh…

  18. They like a good crotch.

  19. Loved every minute of it…my new favorite episode, I think. Loved the tie in the coffee, the dogs, and this line of Michael’s: “She bought us sight unseen. Like a mail-order bride.”

I’m going to have to watch this one again!

  20. Whew! Finally back on track! The episodes between this one and the wedding (few as they were) were too scary to be funny.

I did love Christian Slater and Andy’s song last week though.

  21. Hey Boo Mama…nice to find you. I’m opposed with the Office and it’s waiting for me on the DVR…I think it’s time!

  22. I also loved the opening scene when Michael ended up canceling his reservation! After ALL that! Hilarious.

  23. It felt like old times to me, too. The pace, jokes, and character interactment all worked!

My fav scene involved Michael and Erin, gently rockin’ out to a bossanova beat!

  24. I agree. I am loving that it getting hilarious again. I didn’t want it to be over!

  25. “It’s in the manual.”

    “Who’s Manuel?”
