I clogged for about 7-8 years….even did it on stage in competition at Dollywood. It was a grand time! Wish I still did it…..it would get this weight off! HA!

(And yes, I wanna know how the hat stayed on, too.)

It’s so complex! Then she pulls out the big guns at the end and does the splits! (Oh, sometimes I think I’m funny. haha)

I clogged until 8 1/2 months pregnant with the last baby. I was 38 – he weighed 10lb 7oz.
I had a dream last night that somehow we missed the Miss America pageant and let me tell ya, you were not a happy camper. (It probably has something to do with the fact that I was surfing channels last Saturday desperately trying to find the bloomin’ pageant.)
As a former clogger, (yes, I wore fringe and gingham) I’m impressed. The air banjo gets me every time…
LOVE. Stacy Essebaggers (Miss MI) did a clog routine in 2002 at Miss America and IT WAS AMAZING. I love clogging. I can’t find a clip of hers online. BOO. But…SO EXCITED FOR TONIGHT! There’s an Irish Stepdancer this year who won preliminary talent, so if she makes the Top Ten, we’ll see it! Also, if Miss Hawaii makes Top Ten, we’ll see her jump rope routine (she won preliminary talent too). Oh, the possibilities!
Oh. my. word. Are her boots actually attached to her pants? And the hat is just a miracle.

I know I’m late to the party, but this talent is everything. I remember it well as my mom and I watched Miss America every year together and taped it on our VCR so we could watch it over and over. This is one of the talents that I remember watching until the tape didn’t work anymore.
First of all-it was 2 minutes and 30 seconds of pure awesome. I think this new 90 second thing allows people who really can’t dance to pretend that they can for 90 seconds. There were girls on my high school drill team that could have outdanced any number of the girls in this year’s contest. Whereas this chick can legitimately clog, y’all! Talk about your cardio work out!
Second of all-this presentation had everything-the running man, smoking guns, a hat, fringed hammer pants, back flips (two-and the one at the end had to be tough after 2+ minutes of clogging), the splits, high kicks, the lasso move.
Finally-I think we can all agree that the talent competition just isn’t what it used to be.
Thank you Boo Mama for recognizing that which is excellence in Miss America.
