The Streak Continues

We are still working on the podcasting thing.

But yesterday you may have noticed that Melanie’s blog exploded.

Fortunately, it was only a temporary explosion, and it’s all fixed now. But because of the blog explosion as well as a few extended family sit’yations, we’re running behind on our podcasting schedule.

We are nothing if not predictable.

So, in the meantime, I thought I’d share a list of some products I’ve been enjoying this summer. Or I guess I should say this spring and summer. Seeing as how summer is only a couple of days old.

1. Neutrogena Sport Face SPF 70+

Melanie actually told me about this sunscreen last summer, and I love it so much. It doesn’t sting, doesn’t feel heavy, and it works great. Hands-down it’s the best sunblock for faces that I’ve used. Love, The Girl Who Doesn’t Tan

2. Post Great Grains – Crunchy Pecans

Almost every summer I get on a cereal kick. I picked up a box of Post Great Grains when it was on sale at Publix, and oh my goodness – it’s delicious. I picked Crunchy Pecans because it has the least amount of sugar, and I am a fan. If you like granola, you’ll like this cereal.

3. Big Buddha JCourtny Bag

I think this purse is so sassy, but do you know what’s even sassier? Finding said sassy purse in TJMaxx for $39.99. YES MA’AM. The TJMaxx version isn’t exactly like the one on the website, but that’s fine by me because THIRTY NINE NINETY NINE.

4. Free Kindle Reading Apps

Even though I don’t have a Kindle (or a Nook), I love that the Kindle app enables me to read books on my computer or phone – and check out books from the library, too. It’s a mighty fine work-around for someone who doesn’t have a dedicated e-reader.

5. Voluspa Goji Tarocco Orange Candle

I know that I’ve mentioned this particular candle before, and here I am mentioning it again. But that’s only because I feel so very strongly that it is fact the very essence of delightfulness. It will make your house smell great (unless you have a 15,000 square foot house, in which case you might want to buy 5 or 6 of them), and you’ll be totally addicted in no time at all.

Hope y’all have / are having / continue to have a great weekend!

  1. Mmm… I love Great Grains. But I prefer the ones with the raisins and dates and nougaty fruity stuff in it. What does annoy me, though? It has more calories than Ali’s Lucky Charms. Therefore, I often find myself choosing to diet and eat Lucky Charms instead.

  2. I miss grainy cereal. I’ve had to go gluten free and I dream of donuts and cake and various other things now forbidden to me. I’m glad to hear it wasn’t just me that couldn’t go to the link. I finally had time to check out this Melanie person you speak of, and…nothing. Just an error page. I thought it serves me right for not checking her out sooner. Glad it’s fixed :)

go to the top of this page. click on blog roll. scroll down and click Big mama. That will get you to Melanie (her code name!). You will love it!

  3. well i do wish i could smell test that candle through your blog. i’m a picky candle burner.

i prefer my sunblock in my makeup. kill two birds with one stone. i’ve been using this this year but in the past i’ve used a version by clinique. i’m not sure if i don’t like the clinique better. i need to do a blog post on it i think.

  4. We got the buy one/get one cereal at Publix, too! And bought that kind! What?!? It’s wonderful.

  5. OH. MY. WORD. I have had my eye on that purse since early spring when I first saw it in Macy’s. I refused to fork out the money for it for two reasons…1. It wasn’t (and hasn’t been) on sale and 2. I was hoping TJ Maxx would carry it.

I now confess that I am insanely jealous of you for finding it because as of yet, the TJ Maxx stores around me do not have it. I would pay you big bucks to ship one to me!!! (when I say big bucks, I actually mean shipping but big bucks sounded more dramatic)

  6. Today I was in Altar’d State @ Brookwood Mall. I noticed they carry the Voluspa candles — and everything in their store is Buy 1 Get 1 50% off. I’m going back tomorrow sans kiddos!!
