The Big Boo Cast, Episode 118

Since Melanie and I went to Chicago last weekend, this episode seemed like a great opportunity to recap our trip. We talk about our unforeseen hotel challenges, our night at Hamilton, and our many, many laughs at The Popcast Live. We also discuss college football at great length – and ponder the dynamics of sliding into someone’s social media comments with your team’s slogan.

Also, you will not be surprised to know that Melanie has a LOT of thoughts about Aggie football in general and Jimbo Fisher in particular.

Hope y’all enjoy!

  1. Listen: this one had all the feels. I need to stop driving while listening to you two. I laughed a lot but also, unexpectedly, I cried real tears when you all were talking about Hamilton. I became a fan right along with Sophie. I went to see it for the first time in St. Louis a few months ago. I started crying when the lights went down and when they came up at the end, I was still crying. The lady sitting next to me had completely lost it, so she and I shared a pack of Kleenexes.

I went right back there when Melanie was explaining her emotional response. Yes, that’s it. It makes you want to be better at whatever it is you do. Are you a writer? Then write like you’re running out of time. Are you an orator? Then speak like your next breath is your last.

Very weirdly, when you all posted your picture outside the theater before the show, I wished so much that I was a mouse in your pocket, just getting to watch you experience it together. I promise I won’t try to climb into your pocket, should we ever meet, but just know I was there with you in spirit!

Thanks for brightening my day. I needed to laugh and I needed to cry. And then I needed to laugh some more.

  2. Go CSU Rams!

  3. CheyAnne Smart says:

I do not understand how to listen to you guys on the Chicago podcast? I went to the website but I don’t see the podcast live-is it not available yet to listen to? Help!!!

  4. I’ve spent way too much of my time this morning trying to figure out where that floating head belongs next to Melanie in this picture. It doesn’t appear to be attached to a body, and at first glance I thought it was Caroline.
Never figured it out. Maybe I’m losing my mind…
