The Big Boo Cast, Episode 224

It seems like it’s been forever since we last said these words, but college baseball season is here! On this episode we talk about opening weekend for the Aggies and the Bulldogs, and we also discuss our weekend outings to the State / Alabama women’s basketball game (me) and the San Antonio rodeo (Mel). Plus, Mel shares some ways we can all jump in and help Texans who are recovering from last week’s ice storm.

AND. This week we get to spend some time talking with author Elizabeth Passarella. I mentioned her new book,¬†Good Apple, on the podcast a few weeks ago (you may remember that I loved it), and Melanie and I were so excited to get to visit with her. You’ll hear part of the conversation on this episode – the rest a few weeks down the road – and you are going to love her. Melanie and I had both talked to her for about three minutes when we realized that it felt like we’ve known her forever.

Hope y’all enjoy!

Ladies! Let me tell you. I have tried to listen to other podcasts – even ones that you have recommended or people that are friends of yours. NO ONE else matches you!! Y’all are just the right amount of funny, personal, sassy, aware and FUN. So many others have lost their way (or at least me) by being too introspective, too wrapped up in the crisis of the day or too full of themselves. Not you two – y’all are just GOOD. And, here’s the deal (now I’m sounding like you!) – I currently don’t care about any sports or beauty products – but I still love listening to you!! And, now the hubs and I are watching Poldark. Please please carry on – you brighten my day!!!

I’ve been going to comment since you talked about salads and just remembered to do it. (I actually have comments after every episode, but I’m usually driving so I don’t ever follow through!) — Anyway, here is my go to chicken recipe when I feel like we need to eat better for a day. I noticed when I was looking this up that I’ve been making it since 2014! I use chicken tenders instead of breasts. It is very forgiving, I don’t usually measure everything and don’t use the exact ingredients. And I usually make extra sauce just because we like it like that. The chicken is good hot or cold. — Then I make a loose version of a cobb salad. My family thinks if there is bacon, cheese, and egg, the salad is good. I got a Dash egg cooker over Christmas. I felt stupid getting it since I can make eggs, but I love it! It doesn’t take up much room and the hard boiled eggs really do come out perfect every time. I can start them when I start cutting up the veggies for the salad and they are done in no time.– LASTLY, if y’all haven’t already tried the Primal Kitchen Cilantro Lime dressing, add it asap to your Shipt order! It is so good!! My daughter will eat this with just cucumbers for a snack good. — Love y’all! Every episode is gold!
