This week Melanie updates us on Caroline’s Fish Camp experience, and I talk about the restorative powers of the lake. We also discuss how a book promotion video has taught me some hard truths about the current state of my face.
And on top of all that: we process Alex’s last first day of high school, and Melanie shares her Five Favorites.
Enjoy, everybody!

I love listening to you ladies!! Y’all are my favorite entertainment while I’m walking. Even though I had read some of both of your books, I didn’t discover the podcast until 2 or 3 months ago. (Listen. I just discovered podcasts in general last fall. I don’t even know how to operate the Netflix but I hope you’ll overlook that character flaw. ) I have even gone back and listened to some past episodes to keep me walking.
ANYWAY! I really relate to Melanie because I just took my oldest daughter to college on Monday. (And I have a Caroline, even though she’s not the college freshman.) Leaving her there was the hardest thing I have ever done!! My eyeballs hurt by the end of the day. In this week’s episode, Melanie mentioned her coping mechanism, dorm planning and ordering. Mine is now sending things to my girl…packages, letters, cards, etc. It’s been 3 days and I’ve sent three of each plus an Amazon order is headed directly to her. I don’t have any words of encouragement…just an idea for coping. The possibilities are endless and can last all year.
