It’s been a slow week since we last recorded, but that didn’t stop us from digging into all sorts of exciting topics on this episode: picture frames, herbs, weather, and so many other things that pretty much scream WE ARE VERY BORING.
Fortunately we’ve watched a good bit of TV, so we break that down, and it’s Melanie’s turn for Five Favorites.
Hope y’all enjoy!

My absolute favorite aspect of your podcast is when you and Melanie laugh SO hard that there’s a few seconds of silence. The. Best. I’m always reminded of how I laugh with good friends. We should all be blessed with friends who make us gasp for air. I laughed so loud today about your cumin comment that fellow neighbors (also out walking their dogs) turned around to check on me… ???? Thank you for spreading joy!
No idea why there are question marks in my post…
I laughed so much about the herbs. I have very strong feelings about sage. No one in my family (both sides) likes it and we are the only people I know who leave it out of cornbread dressing (not even poultry seasoning.) I do, however, like a hashbrown casserole, especially at breakfast with some ham. I put crushed Ritz crackers or just extra cheese on top.
I think Heather Gauthier’s prints titled “Judging your outfit” or “Wine Rack” would be cute in Melanie’s bathroom!
Love this podcast!!!
My daughter recently told me about this genetic predisposition about https://www.britannica.com/story/why-does-cilantro-taste-like-soap-to-some-people
Only the two of you can talk about “nothing” and I am absolutely captivated!!! You both bring a smile to my face every week :)
Agree that it is The. Best. when one or both of you are laughing so hard there’s a few seconds of silence on the podcast. Kills me every time. When Melanie said that color by numbers was like needlepoint, and Sophie deadpanned, “Is it…?”, I was cackling over the entire silence that followed.
I have never felt so seen as the cumin=BO comment!! I have tried but cannot get it past my nose! The herb discussion was the laugh I needed today!
Melanie,
My husband and I finished The Terminal List on Sunday. Monday, I woke up just feeling crabby. I finally told Bill that I think I was just upset by the final episode. Why couldn’t Ben’s storyline have ended differently?
Also, I never use sage. Reminds me of sausage making days during my childhood. I’ll leave it at that.
Love you guys so much!
Debbie
