The Big Boo Cast, Episode 300

Well, it’s our 300th episode – and our 15th podcast-i-versary – and Melanie and I are thrilled about both of these things. WHO WOULD HAVE EVER THOUGHT. So, as you can imagine, we do a little reminiscing on this episode, but we also do a lot of talking about the here and now. That is because this is the week that Alex moves to college, and we have a lot to break down about that.

As always we recap our weekends, and it’s my turn for Five Favorites.

Hope y’all enjoy!

I have recommended your podcast to lots of friends and family members, and we all try out products from your Top 5 each week. You girls are a delight to listen to each Thursday morning! With the craziness of the world, it is so nice to listen to something so refreshing as two friends catching up! Sophie, I keep thinking I will run into you at Trader Joe’s or TJ Maxx here in Birmingham, but it hasn’t happened yet! :)

  37. Jennifer Bridges says:

I share Melanie’s distaste for the ‘horns and I give a strong side-eye to Norte Dame.
Thank you for continuing to entertain, looking forward to football season!

  49. Congratulations on 15 years!! I have been following you and listening since your original blogging days. Thanks for welcoming us into your chats and friendship every week!

  50. Congratulations! I’m a new mama but started listening to you all when I was a new college graduate young adult. I’ve feel like I’ve been reading/listening since the dawn of time. I found you, Melanie, Pioneer Woman and Kelly Stamps all about the same time. Y’all are the OG blogs I read religiously. Then I was able to see y’all at dot.mom in Dallas and Mel signed my copy of “Sparkly Green Earrings” and I have a picture with you and another one with Melanie :) The OG Podcast and the Patreon podcasts have brightened many days and accompanied me on many walks. Never you mind that I have my airpods in and am just randomly laughing … my neighbors already think I’m crazy! Congrats on these monumentous milestones. I’m cheering you on, always, here in the 806!

Congratulations on reaching your 300th Episode in a mere 15 years!! I found ya’ll through a friend when I shared a quote from one of Melanie’s books online during the big shut down. This was exactly what I needed in 2020 and my only regret is that I didn’t find ya’ll sooner. I agree that my favorite things are when you laugh so hard we can’t hear anything and when Melanie gets salty about Notre Dame (mostly because I agree 100%). Thank you from the bottom of my heart for staying with this. My enneagram nine heart needs ya’ll!

FIFTEEN YEARS!!! Congratulations on your consistent and “professional” voice you’ve brought over the years to me. My firstborn daughter was born in Nov 2003 in between Caroline and Alex. You two have been my virtual parenting friends as we’ve navigated the same phases of our children’s lives. When you asked Melanie on the podcast how often she checks in on her friends, I thought “I ‘check’ in with Melanie and Sophie every week. And my husband thinks it’s amazing that I have “friends” who know so much about college football.
Congratulations from your virtual friend on the central coast of California.
    Deanna

  93. I’m so, so glad I found you in someone’s blogroll back in the early aughts. You’ve brought untold joy no matter how much time lapses between episodes!

  94. Hey Ms. Soph!!! My favorite part of the podcast is any time you talk about stuff as Martha would, such as describing a color of a necklace or pillow. It’s a blue green but not a blue blue green! Melanie, my favorite thing that you bring to the table is Perry’s love and need for illumination!!!!!!

  95. Beth Harris says:
