The Big Boo Cast, Episode 379

This week Melanie and I recap our travels (she went to Ft. Worth and College Station, I went to east Georgia) and talk about all the roasts I cooked last week. You’ll hear more than you’ve ever wanted to hear about how much I love to chop things.

Plus, we have some exciting live show info for the fall (!!!), and it’s Melanie’s turn for Five Favorites.

Enjoy, everybody!

Show Notes:

Pepper Belly Pete’s Mississippi Pot Roast

Erin Brockovich on Netflix

Pioneer Woman’s mashed potatoes (This is so similar to what Mama used to do. Mama also heated her butter and 1/2 and 1/2 together before adding them to the potatoes – plus she added a cup of sour cream and about 3/4 cup of cooked bacon pieces with the cream cheese. Mama always used Yukon gold (didn’t bother with peeling them), and she topped the casserole with a little butter and shredded cheddar before putting in the oven at 375.)

At Home in Birmingham (the store with the red currant & orange candles)

Union Gospel Mission Ft. Worth

The George in College Station

  1. Natalie says:

The Simple Modern really is the best! I LOVE it! I have it in the emerald green color and my daughter has it in dark purple. Plus you don’t have all of the pieces that can collect mold!

  2. Rachael says:

Can we please talk more about cooking smells lingering in the house?! My husband says I’m crazy. I go around spraying Febreze, opening doors and windows, setting out dishes of vinegar or baking soda. Nothing helps! I also will wake in the middle of the night if there are lingering cooking smells. Onions and grease are the worst! I have a stove/oven hood/vent. It just seems to make noise!
