– Listen. I’m a nerd. I really am. And maybe that’s part of the reason why I fell head over heels for this interactive vote-for-your-favorite-Oscar-dress thingy. Something about being able to drag and drop each dress into its appropriate place – well, it delighted me.

This post of Travis’ – well, just read it. That’s all I can say.

– My friend Shaun has a knack for expressing deep truths in ways that make me say, “YES. THAT.” His latest post is no exception.

– I’m still working on my springtime soundtrack, and Tuesday night I bought a CD that’s sure to have a firm place in this spring’s listening rotation: Hymns: Some Glad Morning by Cindy Morgan. It is an acoustic, folksy treasure. Absolutely beautiful.

– I loved Lindsey’s post about blogging the first time I read it. But what I didn’t anticipate is how I would continue to think about it. Great food for bloggy thought.

– I don’t know if any of you are country music fans or not, but right now, on the People Country magazine site, you can download eleven country songs for free. And do you know what I enjoy? FREE.

– My Eggland’s Best $100 Visa gift card giveaway (along with a six-month supply of eggs) ends tomorrow, so if you haven’t entered yet, time’s a wastin’!

– We have laughed and laughed at Garth & Kat’s Valentine’s duets today. Classic.

– Loved Tater Mama’s post about what she would tell her 18 year-old self.

– I am uncharacteristically excited about Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains. And I’m not exactly sure how I’m going to fit it into what is already a jam-packed Thursday night TV-watching schedule (I mean, I haven’t even watched last week’s Project Runway yet, THAT’S HOW BEHIND I AM), but I’ll make a way somehow. I am determined.

Happy Super Bowl, everybody!

– You know how sometimes something strikes you as sort of funny, and then the more you watch it or hear it the funnier it gets, and before you know it you want to watch it over and over? Well, that was my exact reacton to this SNL skit. Also: Kristen Wiig is a treasure.

– I’ve read a couple of posts over the last few days that have really encouraged me as a mama: this post by Brandi and this post by Priscilla.

– Holly has written the sweetest post about her struggle with infertility, and I think you’ll love it. I did.

– I made Ree’s salsa Monday night after Melanie told me how good it was, and oh my word, D and I may be addicted. I used a little chili powder instead of cumin, but other than that I followed the recipe. And just FYI: I’ll be making another batch of the salsa goodness tomorrow.

– Kristen at We Are THAT Family transformed her dining room into a home office. And the results are absolutely gorgeous.

– We’re big Jon Hamm fans in our house, and this SNL sketch (with Michael Buble’) made us love him even more. Funny!

– I am completely fascinated by the Duggars. I just think they are the sweetest, most precious family, and I love watching their show. Last night I ran across the newest episode about the birth of their premature baby (here’s a clip), and I may have cried once or four times. So sweet.

– I couldn’t help but smile when I read Nester’s reminder that we can frame anything.

– A few years ago the internet got together and raised some money to help my friend Kelli and her family cover their health insurance premiums while she was waiting on approval for a kidney transplant. It’s been a long road – a three-year road, in fact – but she finally got moved to the top of the transplant list. And now she needs a living kidney donor. Read her story. You may be able to help. And if even if you don’t give her, you know, a kidney, you may feel led to donate some money to Kelli’s family to offset their transplant travel costs. More than anything, please keep her family in your prayers.

Lots-o-musical goodness today. And some writer-y goodness, too.

Tuesday, you delight me.

– My all-time favorite singer/songwriter, the talented Mr. Dave Barnes, released a new single today. It’s called “God Gave Me You” – and oh, come on now. So good.

– Speaking of Mr. Barnes, he’s doing a live online concert tonight with Matt Wertz and Brandon Heath. It’ll cost you a whole $1.50 to watch. All the proceeds will go to providing clean water for our brothers and sisters in Africa. And I imagine there will be all manner of laughs during the musical proceedings. I’m totally watching. 8 pm central. You can register now and login later. Big fun in store.

– My friend and Uganda trip buddy Carlos Whittaker released an EP today, and I am so excited for him. You can download it on iTunes (only $1.98). I’m such a fan of the song “Rain It Down” – I can’t even tell you. You can also listen to full versions of the songs on lala (fancy!).

– Sweet Lisa McKay, another bloggy friend, has a book coming out next week. It’s called You Can Still Wear Cute Shoes…And Other Great Advice From An Unlikely Preacher’s Wife. Isn’t that a great title? Anyway, there’s a fun contest going on in conjunction with the book release – and I just thought you might like to know that.

– Loved this post from Susanna. LOVED. IT. And the song at the end of the post? Come on, now. That’s a good word.

On The Wings Of Love,
Me

– There’s an an awesome benefit for Haiti in the works. And if you’re a blogger (or a Facebooker or a Twitterer), you can help. It’s gonna be SO GREAT, y’all.

– Totally dropped the ball this week on linking to the Radical Experiment. But here’s this week’s Family Worship Guide.

– I’ve been way behind on “American Idol,” but last night I watched the Orlando auditions. And at the very end there was a guy named Matt Lawrence who just blew me away. Loved his story, loved his voice – I can’t wait to see what’s in store for him.

– If you’re like me and have absolutely no plans for next Tuesday night (the 26th), you might want to check out a little online concert by three of my very favorite musicians: Brandon Heath, Matt Wertz and Dave Barnes. This video has all the details. It also has some laughs. (link via Annie)

– Have you ever seen a product and wished that you’d invented it? That’s how I feel about these stay-put baby sock thingies. GENIUS. And if you have a little one, there’s a giveaway at the end of the post.

– “The Office” is back tonight! No link. Just happiness.

Hope y’all have a great Thursday!
