Rach Is Cookin’ Tex-Mex And It ROCKS

Rachael Ray just referred to using salt and pepper as “a little ‘s’ and ‘p’ action.”

I’ve written before about the fact that she gets on my nerves a little bit.

So why can’t I quit watching? Why am I still sitting here at her “E.V.O.O./DELISH/S and P ACTION/YUM/YADA YADA/STOUP-because-it’s-thicker-than-a-soup-but-thinner-than-a stew” mercy?

Why can’t I turn away?

Something is wrong with me.

But tonight – it’s songs of the 21st century on American Idol.

Not even Rach describing cheese as “melty” can dampen my excitement.

  1. Merritt says:

Did you watch the Chef-Ographys? I didn’t see hers.

  2. No, we missed the Chefography deal – and have been looking for them on TiVo so we can catch them next time. Did they do Paula Deen?

  3. I don’t know who Rach is, but a friend of mine had a book signing tonight at Davis-Kidd for her new COOKBOOK. And yes, I bought one. :) The pictures in the book are real pretty, plus her original recipes look interesting and relatively easy. I told her that it almost makes me want to cook…which, as you know, is a huge compliment from me.

  4. You bought a COOKBOOK? Are the pictures big and colorful like Us magazine? :-) Is this the person who used to cater all of your work stuff?

  5. Merritt says:

Yes, they had a Chef-Ography on Paula Deen. I watched hers, Ina Garten’s, and Giada DeLaurentis’. They were all very interesting. You definitely need to find out when they’re aired again and watch them.

  6. You may not want to cook the food Sister, but you can set up a “mean” table in a heartbeat. Just remember….presentation is EVERYTHING!

  7. Sister CAN set a fierce table. Or tablescape, if you will. Ah, the volumes of artfully draped fabric, elevated centerpieces, and tastefully mismatched votive holders…it is a sight to behold.

  8. ¡Well, muchas gracias, mi amigos! “Presentation is Everything” is my motto. :)

And, just fyi, the cookbook was written by the very sweet, successful songwriter/publisher, Teri Diamond. Her husband is Steve Diamond, writer of many hits, such as “I Can Love You Like That” (he also did the photography for the book).
