For what it’s worth, this video gives more insight into my sense of humor than anything I could possibly write. I don’t know what like-humored soul recorded this little gem, but I am most grateful. Sister and Liz, get out your microphones!
p.s. BooMama Tech Help: the video can be a little slow-loading, even on DSL, so you may want to start it, mute your computer, walk away for a minute, then come back and drag the play bar back to the beginning. Not that I have OCD or anything. Or control issues. Or anything.
Because I Love You

Imagine that, a SNL skit that actually is too short. I had never seen this li’l gem until now. When Candy does her line for “That’s Why the Lady is a Tramp” it made me choke a little bit. There obviously must have been some dust on that mint I had in my mouth. Thanks for the little Friday treat, Boomama.
Have a swell weekend.

I’m old……I actually saw this live when it first aired…*sigh* LOL. All they needed was to be swaying back and forth to be cheesy lounge singers on a cruise ship. ;) A classic, indeed.
Thank you, thank you, Soph. Hmmm, back then the hair didn’t seem quite so big, did it?
T and I went to Zoo Party last weekend where Dr. Zarr’s Amazing Funk Monster played (all music from the 70s and 80s – including “I Want Your Sex” by George Michel) and there was a pageant girl who got up and sang. She was really good and cute, but I can’t help thinking that she might be a Sweeney Sister one day or a Variation when she’s in college!
Now that is what I call Classic T.V.!
Love, love, love The Sweeney Sisters!
If American Idol were that entertaining, then I’d not only watch it, but I’d be able to join in on the comments, too. :)
Oh, and I find it interesting that the little clip you chose had “Yesterday” (Beatles hit) in the medley. :)
I have many, many memories of Liz and me watching the Sweeneys in high school. Hard to believe it was 20 years ago, isn’t it? And I had forgotten about the Variations…I used to LOOOOVE them when they would perform at Mississippi’s Jr. Miss every year.
I don’t mind the Beatles so much when the Sweeneys are involved. ;-)
