Per Daphne’s Suggestion, I’m Re-Titling This Post “You Take The Good, You Take The Bad”

I got a little tickled when I saw the Blessed Beyond Measure sidebar:

Do y’all see that?

Do you see?

It’s me. Right next to Blair Warner.

BLAIR WARNER!!!

I mean, she was the coolest.

Well, technically Jo was the coolest, but the girly-girl in me was always drawn to Blair…with her perfectly coiffed hair and ever-present strand of pearls. Natalie was funny and all, but she never could deliver a punchline without laughing a little bit herself.

But Blair – well, she had it all.

The only thing that could be cooler?

Sitting on a blogroll next to Tootie.

But I don’t think she blogs.

  1. Dang, you should have titled this post, “You Take The Good, You Take The Bad.”
    :)

  2. Oh, Boomama, the stories I could tell! “Blair” goes to my church. She’s as down to earth, unfussy, and hysterically funny as a woman can be; totally not like Blair–way, way better. She’s speaking at our church on Mother’s Day. If you go to fellowshipchurch.com afterward, you should be able to listen to her online. You and she would be friends, I think, because you’re quite possibly the funniest person I’ve never met;)

  3. Boomama, You make me laugh. I thought Blair was cool, too.

Don’t you just love Sarah’s whole bloggin’ family? That’s the awesomest thing to me. My family just forwards email spam – no personal messages, just spam.

  4. Oops! Check your link to Bev’s blog… there’s another blog with the same title, but it’s not hers.

  5. I absolutely suspect you ARE as cool as Blair. (And I’ve met her. Really.)

  6. So funny!

I think Peach or someone mentioned in a comment on my blog awhile ago that Lisa Welchel had written a great parenting book. I was like – isn’t that Blair Warner?!?! LOL

(I knew she had written some books because I had seen a feature about her a couple of years ago in a scrapbooking mag., but had no idea she was a parenting author.)

Anyway – so good to see her having such a great post-FactsofLife life. My fav was Tootie – but I loved them all! At first my parents wouldn’t let us watch it cause they were scared off by the name, but then they decided it was ok and I spent many, many years watching the girls grow up – but didn’t we all?!?!

PS gonna go check out her site now…

  7. Hey, BooMama,
I am very much alive and well, just been busy, busy this weekend. Just made it home from church, as a matter of fact. :-) Now on to the good stuff. ;-)

I have already checked out the family “blogtopia” and been commenting here and there on them, and I came across the very blogroll you have posted, but I didn’t draw a connection to you and Blair. I did click on the link to Lisa Welchel’s blog and surfed around a bit, but it was getting late so I didn’t get too deep into her site. And I did get that the title is the first couple of lines from the “Facts” theme song. I spent many a night growing up watching all the girls and Mrs. Garrett, too. How cool that Sarah goes to church with her. I’ll have to dig a little deeper at Lisa’s site. Isn’t that great? I’m already calling her Lisa, like we’re old buddies, LOL. ;-)

  8. Hey everybody, when you go to Lisa Whelchels website from my blogroll click on CoffeeTalk. She does a blogpost every week and has for years. Lots of photos, great writer. She has a number of great books on parenting. I have several of them and highly recommend them.

  9. Found your site today (I think via She-lives, but can’t be sure since I’ve been clicking lots of links!) I think it’s cool you’re listed next to Blair. :)

You’ve got some great links listed. Thanks for the good reading!

    Amanda

  10. I went in to Lisa’s (Blairs) website, clicked on coffee talk and then read the entry of the week. if you want to see the real Lisa read on. she has parenting challenges just like the rest of us. if you have a teenager you will you be able to relate – shes very human and so are her 3 kids. i dont miss it – i read her entry every single week and since its only 1 entry its easy to keep up with. she has archives so you can go back and check out photos, family stories, and her very cool house! dont hate me – i got to go there, have lunch and play a game with her and her momtime group – shes competitive! she indeed is very cool, but on a mom level!

  11. Mom-level coolness is the ultimate, isn’t it?
