Our house goes on the market Tuesday, which means that D and I have been in full-on home improvement mode since Thursday. And right now I’m really tempted to say that I’ve been “staging” my house because Emma Kate informed me this afternoon that the word “staging” really gets on her nerves, so I asked her what in the world would I call all the arranging and re-arranging if not “staging,” and she said that I should just say “fixin’ it up.”
So, just for Emma Kate: we have been “fixin’ up” the house. Because goodness gracious doesn’t that just sound so much better than “staging”?
Anyway, we have been busy. And since Alex has been at his grandparents’ house, we have really enjoyed our time together. It’s been a real reminder that we don’t need to wait until we decide to put a house on the market to take some time for just the two of us. It’s been fun – and as ready as I am to see the little man, I am very, very grateful to have had the last four days with D. It’s been good. Great, in fact. We needed it.

In the completely trivial news department, if you watch “Project Runway,” are you shocked to learn that Uli – the designer who makes every single dress out of a print – is 25? Because I saw that this weekend when a re-run was on, and I was FLOORED because no kidding I thought she was in her late 30’s (in other words, MY age).
I’ll be back with some form of narrative cohesion later. But right now I have to go get ready because I have to be back at church at 5:15. We’d love for you to join us.
Shocked that Uli is 25. I would have said 35+, which is obviously still very, very young.

Only 25? Really? Are you sure she isn’t lying? Because if I’d looked like that at 25, I’d have lied and said 40.
And I just watched my first episode of PR yesterday, during my Heat Marathon 2006, and I have to say I’ve been missing out; it’s great!
I could have sworn I saw an episode that said she was 35. Which looks more accurate.
Sorry, no PR here. I watch enough ER, GA, CSI (reg,and NY) to choke a horse. I feel bad for her though. I would much rather be 35 and look 25!

I am so into Project Runway! Love it! Watched the rerun marathon today, in fact. Uli is 35, so says the PR web site. I think that she has an adorable personality but I really think that Michael is the most talented.
I was more shocked that Uli won the challenge. I thought she would be voted off last week, but she pulled through and she “got” the challenge. Poor Laura is just dog tired.
only 25? All those “crazy prints” & “party dresses” must be prematurely aging her.

I hear what you’re saying about taking time alone with your spouse. I was just telling Oronzo this past weekend that I wanted to get a sitter so we could have a “date” night. I love being Snuggle Bug’s mama, but I’m also a wife and I miss having alone time with my husband!
Michael IS the most talented. His instints are (usually) wonderful. Jeffery can only do rock and roll – and seems to make a good living at it. All the others seem to be very one note.
Preach it about being alone with your spouse!! We all need time to grow together and remember why we chose each other. Hopefully we will live with our husbands for 50+ years and our children for about 20. Let’s hear it for marriages that mean something!

Spent all day sat trying to do as much stuff in the den(fold cloths, dust, so on so forth)so I could watch pr marathon. cant believe Uli is 25, can’t believe they let 4 go to fashion week, can’t believe how well Laura is doing pregnant and away from 5 kids. I don’t follow the show but I checked the site to see what all the buzz is about. Uli’s bio says she is 35, but Katharine is 25…… I was relieved for her b/c no one wants to look 35 at 25!!!
